Chapter 396: Full Blown War and Powerful Presence
"ATTACK!!!!!!"
Gabriel’s roar shattered the brief silence like thunder, and it was as if a dam had broken.
The one thousand men of Broken Dawn surged forward as one, their earlier restraint completely gone. Boots slammed against the earth, weapons were raised, and battle cries tore through the night. The fear that once weighed on them was nowhere to be found. In its place was raw excitement, reckless courage, and absolute trust in the man leading them.
The enemy convoy, already thrown into disarray by the destruction of their front line, barely had time to react before Broken Dawn crashed into them.
Gunfire erupted from the remaining vehicles, bullets tearing through the air in wild sprays, but the formation was already broken. Soldiers leapt from burning trucks, some screaming, some trying to regroup, others frozen in place as they stared at the devastation before them.
That was when Scarlet moved.
She did not rush forward blindly like the others. Instead, she walked.
Her silver longsword gleamed under the moonlight as she stepped into the battlefield with calm confidence, her posture relaxed and her grip steady. The moment the first enemy noticed her, it was already too late.
A gunshot rang out.
Scarlet tilted her head slightly, the bullet passing harmlessly beside her ear, and in the same motion her sword flashed.
The man who fired never even realized he was dead.
Blood sprayed across the ground as Scarlet appeared behind him, her blade already moving toward her next target. She did not shout. She did not scream. She simply cut.
Every swing of her sword was clean and precise, aimed at vital points. Necks, chests, arms holding weapons. She did not waste movement or strength. Enemy soldiers tried to surround her, thinking numbers would overwhelm her, but it only made things worse.
Scarlet spun, her blade carving a wide arc, and three men fell at once, their bodies collapsing before the sound of steel cutting flesh had even faded.
Broken Dawn soldiers watching from behind felt their blood boil.
"That’s Scarlet!"
"She’s cutting them down like nothing!"
The sight alone pushed them forward faster, their morale rising with every fallen enemy.
Scarlet moved deeper into the enemy line, her sword leaving behind a trail of blood. Bullets came at her from different angles, but she deflected some with her blade and dodged others with effortless steps. When an enemy tried to rush her with a bayonet, she stepped inside his guard, slammed her elbow into his throat, and finished him with a single thrust.
She was dominating the battlefield.
Not far from her, Sophie finally took action.
Until now, she had remained near the rear, watching the chaos unfold with a racing heart. The screams, the explosions, the blood. It was overwhelming.
She took a deep breath, calming her nerves, then raised her hand.
The ground beneath the enemy soldiers trembled slightly before thick green vines burst forth from the soil. They wrapped around legs, arms, and weapons in an instant, dragging men to the ground before they could even scream.
"What the hell!"
"Get them off!"
More vines surged forward, crawling across the battlefield like living creatures. They crushed rifles, tangled wheels, and pinned enemies in place, making them easy targets for Broken Dawn fighters charging in behind.
Sophie clenched her teeth as she focused, sweat forming on her forehead as she spread her control wider. She twisted her wrist, and the vines tightened.
Broken Dawn soldiers who had been hesitant moments earlier now fought with renewed ferocity, realizing that the enemy was helpless against this coordinated assault. Anyone trapped by Sophie’s vines was quickly overwhelmed by advancing fighters.
Sophie’s heart pounded violently in her chest, but she did not stop. She could feel the strain on her mana, but she pushed through it, her eyes burning with determination.
’I won’t fall behind.’
An enemy officer shouted orders desperately, trying to regain control of his men, but before he could finish speaking, vines wrapped around his torso and slammed him into the ground. Sophie lowered her hand slowly, watching him struggle helplessly before being dragged away by Broken Dawn players.
Nearby, Ragnarok99 laughed loudly as he cut an enemy soldier down with his sword.
"This is insane!" he shouted. "This is way better than farming mobs!"
Another member fired point blank into a trapped enemy, shouting in excitement as adrenaline surged through him. This was no longer a battle of fear. It was a one sided slaughter.
Scarlet continued her advance, now deep within enemy territory.
She ducked under a wild swing, stepped forward, and drove her blade upward, lifting an enemy off his feet. Without stopping, she twisted the sword free and kicked the body aside, already moving toward the next threat.
At one point, three enemies rushed her at once.
Scarlet did not retreat.
She stepped into them.
Her sword flashed left, right, then forward, each strike landing with deadly precision. When the third enemy tried to flee, she threw her sword.
The blade pierced his back and pinned him to the ground.
Scarlet walked over calmly, retrieved her weapon, and wiped the blood off on his uniform before turning back toward the battlefield.
She looked unstoppable.
From nearby, standing on the roof of a vehicle, Gabriel watched everything unfold with a faint smile.
The plan was working perfectly.
The enemy had lost momentum, their morale shattered by fear and confusion, while Broken Dawn fought like men possessed. Sophie controlled movement, Scarlet crushed the frontline, and the rest of the members followed with absolute trust.
Beside him, Seraphina hovered silently, watching with interest.
"They believe in you far too much," she said with a small laugh. "You’re starting to look like a god to them."
Gabriel did not deny it.
"Belief wins wars," he replied calmly. "Power just finishes them."
Suddenly, Seraphina thought of something and looked at him. "Speaking of power, when are you planning to join the fight? Broken Dawn is dominating, but that is only because the others have not joined yet."
By the others, Gabriel knew exactly who she meant. He glanced into the distance, past the battlefield, toward several areas where powerful presences were quietly waiting.
