Chapter 493: The Second Key Location

Chapter 493: The Second Key Location

"This place matches the description he gave," Xman muttered and started to walk forward.

Inside, the place was quiet. A receptionist looked up when he entered. "Name?"

"Xman."

The receptionist checked something, then nodded. "He is waiting for you. Room 307."

Xman didn’t ask any more questions and walked up the stairs. As he did, he discovered that the place looked seemingly empty. Apart from the staff, there weren’t any signs of visitors, which made him quite curious.

Some time later, he reached the wooden door with Room 307 boldly engraved on it. Taking a deep breath, he knocked twice on the door.

"Come in," the familiar calm voice said from inside.

He opened the door and stepped in.

White Phantom was already inside, standing near the window.

"You made it," Gabriel said calmly.

Xman nodded and closed the door behind him. "Yeah. And a lot happened."

Gabriel turned slightly toward him, a gleam of curiosity flashing across his eyes beneath the mask. "A lot?"

Xman took a deep breath and began explaining everything that happened outside the hotel, how his former teammates had been waiting, how the guards had been bribed, and how Scarlet showed up and stopped everything.

"When she arrived, they left immediately," Xman said. "Then she fired the guards on the spot."

Gabriel listened quietly without interrupting.

"And she didn’t arrest you?" he asked, almost struggling to believe what he was hearing.

"No," Xman replied. "She just told me to be careful and left."

Gabriel did not speak for a few seconds after that. He stood there quietly, then slowly turned his head toward the window again.

Gabriel’s eyes narrowed slightly behind the mask. Currently, White Phantom was under the Adventure Guild’s radar, and he was certain that Xman was too. If she had seen him, wasn’t it only right that she took him into custody?

Why would she let him go?

Suddenly, he thought of something.

Xman seemed to see through his thoughts and quickly spoke up. "You don’t have to worry about that. I am certain that she didn’t follow me here."

"You won’t exactly know if she did. After all, she is Hero Rank," Gabriel replied as he slid the glass door open and stepped onto the balcony.

He extended his perception far and wide. Currently, it could be said that Gabriel was much stronger than Scarlet, which meant that his perception was huge as well.

If she was close by, his senses should have been able to pick up something. Even though for the first few minutes he didn’t pick up anything, he remained outside for a full twenty minutes before withdrawing his senses back.

She didn’t follow him. In a way, if she had followed Xman, Gabriel wouldn’t have been this restless.

He began to wonder what her real reason for doing that was. After several seconds, the only thought that stood out the most was... Could it be that she already knew it was him?

"By the way, where are the others?" Xman suddenly asked, snapping Gabriel out of his trance like state.

"Hmm. I bought the hotel," White Phantom casually replied.

"You rented the hotel, you mean?"

"Bought. This property, alongside the workers, are now all under me," Gabriel repeated.

Xman stood there stunned, his brain still needing some time to process all that he had heard. He knew White Phantom was powerful, but also rich?

"Damn!" the player exclaimed in his heart. The more time he spent with the man, the more mysterious and interesting he became.

While Xman was lost in his thoughts, White Phantom suddenly walked up to the door and opened it, revealing one of the workers with a tray and her hand hanging in the air.

"Your coffee is here." The woman withdrew her hand and smiled.

Gabriel, who had sensed the woman the moment she stepped into the hallway, nodded faintly and took the tray, which contained a glass of coffee.

While sipping the glass of coffee, he glanced at Xman and said, "I trust you haven’t been slacking while you were away?"

Xman let out a small breath and rubbed the back of his neck before answering. "I wasn’t slacking. I was actually doing some digging while I was away. This might sound hard to believe, but I think I know where the second key is."

Gabriel took another sip of his coffee and leaned slightly against the table, his posture relaxed but his eyes focused on Xman.

He did not react immediately. He simply placed the glass back on the tray and looked at him. "Where?"

Xman hesitated for a second like he was organizing his thoughts, then he spoke. "The second key... it’s in the castle."

The room went quiet for a moment after that. Gabriel did not speak, but the way he stood showed he was listening carefully.

"The castle," Gabriel repeated slowly.

"Yeah," Xman said. "I’m sure of it. I confirmed it from different sources. The second key is definitely inside the castle."

Gabriel looked away for a moment, thinking. He was curious about how Xman managed to find something like that in such a short time, but he did not ask.

He already knew that Xman excelled in research. He was probably the best researcher Gabriel had come across, so he didn’t doubt what he was saying.

Furthermore, there were already too many things on his mind, and right now all he wanted was to finish what he came to do in the Stellar Kingdom and leave. Staying here longer was becoming dangerous for him.

After a few seconds, he looked back at Xman. "If the key is in the castle, then getting it won’t be easy."

Xman gave a dry laugh. "Easy? It’s the opposite of easy. There’s more."

Xman looked straight at him before continuing. "In order to get the key, you would have to infiltrate the castle," he said, then paused briefly before adding, "Specifically, the king’s chambers. You would have to infiltrate the Vermilion King’s chambers."
