268 Chapter 268- Secret
268: Chapter 268- Secret 268: Chapter 268- Secret Chapter 268- Secret Charles was completely speechless for a while after what Kaya said.
He expected her to lash out at him immediately after what happened.
He knew that she loved Mikayla a lot.
However, what happened was completely different.
She had simply changed the direction of the conversation with ease to something else.
He wasn’t ready for that and ended up stuck speechless.
“So, what do you want, Charles?” Kaya asked when she found him silent.
“…
What are you going to do?” He finally shook his thoughts away and asked the initial question he was intending to pose on her.
“None of your buss-” As Kaya was about to harshly push him away, she noticed that Kai was signaling for her.
Looking up, she read his hand gestures that he was making.
It didn’t take her long to understand what he wanted to say.
“I’m laying low for now.
Divinity is gonna have to take this huge outrage alone.” “You’re going to leave your organization to get crushed?” Charles asked.
“Color me surprised.
My little sister started hating Divinity.” “I believe that it’s responsible for the old man’s death.
I won’t work for an Organization that did this to me.
I will look into the truth and if I find it, Divinity will regret the day it was made.” “…
Are you serious, Kaya?
You’re going against them?
Do you want to die that much?” Charles asked with a dead serious tone.
He knew how strong Kaya was and there was simply no way she would be able to destroy Divinity.
One person against a whole organization was nothing short of suicide.
“I know what I’m doing.
Keep your worries to yourself.” She replied.
“Anything else?” “Huh?
Hold on a second, Kaya.
You will only make the situation worse if you move now.
Listen to me, I have an idea.” “An idea?” “Yeah, I just want you to listen to me.
If you don’t like it, you can simply refuse.” Kaya raised an eyebrow as she looked at Kai.
The latter thought for a second before he nodded his head at Kaya.
“Ok, speak.” “Thank you.” “You better not be planning anything stupid.
If I catch you doing something like that.
I will personally make sure-” “I know, I know.
I won’t.
This situation isn’t good for me either so we share the same goal here.
My dad’s message has far more than what we saw.
We need to analyze every frame of it before we can really get a conclusion.” “Do what you want.
If you get any result, tell me.” Kaya replied.
“Yeah, as for my plan…” *** Meanwhile, near Divinity HQ, the situation was a huge mess.
A huge number of people surrounded the building and closed any possible way to leave the building.
Shouts, curses and cries for Divinity to give an official statement reached the highest floors.
The guards were unable to stop some from even entering inside.
Not to mention the ones that were Origin Users who use their abilities to deal damage to the building.
Smoke rose in the air as chaos ensued.
Inside the building, Ethia walked in a hurry as she dialed a number.
“Call all the Archangels, the Ophanims and the Seraphims.
We need an official meeting right now.” She said in a serious tone.
Even in the worst of situations, Ethia would be able to keep her calm.
However, what Divinity was facing at the moment was far worse than any other problem that could ever happen.
Their presence in the world was a serious threat that can’t be ignored.
As she hurried her steps, she reached the end of the corridor where there was nothing but a normal wall.
However, the moment she put her hand on a particular position in the wall, that part flipped automatically, revealing a command panel with buttons on it.
Tapping the number in, she heard a ringing sound before the command panel flipped again, revealing another panel with a camera on it.
So, Ethia got closer from the panel and put her eye right in front of the camera.
Immediately, a laser flashed through the camera that scanned her eye.
“User Identified.” Then, the wall started parting open as if it was some kind of door.
Ethia quickly walked inside before the door closed behind her.
Darkness took over her vision for a few seconds before the light finally turned on revealing the room.
Aesthetically, the room was empty with no actual decorations whatsoever.
Except for the computer on the other end of the room sitting on a table and the wooden chair in front of it, there was nothing else worth mentioning.
Ethia looked at the computer for a few moments with a complicated gaze before she took a few deep breaths, adjusted her clothes and then finally stepped forward.
Sitting down on the chair, she was about to look at the computer screen when she heard a ringing sound coming from the device itself.
On the screen, a call screen appeared with the green and red buttons for answering or hanging.
Taking the mouse in her hand, Ethia finally closed her eyes and tapped on the green button with a tense expression.
A few seconds of silence passed as the call time counter was slowly moving.
“Good evening, Ethia.” Finally, an older, deep voice spoke.
“Good evening, your majesty.
It’s my honor to call you today.” She replied.
“How have you been?” “I’m doing well, your majesty.
Thank you so much for asking.” “That’s good.
Now, what exactly happened?” Ethia then recounted everything that happened in the news as far as she knew.
Damian simply listened in silence as he waited for her to finish.
“That’s basically everything we know for now.
We still don’t know how he sent that message or when he escaped.
We’re still working on revealing the truth.” “…” “Are you still there, your majesty?” She asked nervously when she noticed that he didn’t speak even when she was finished speaking.
“Hahaha!
Hahahahahahahaha!!” Suddenly, Damian exploded into laughter that shocked Ethia.
The woman was completely distraught since this was the first time she ever heard him laugh.
Damian was never someone that would show emotions let alone laugh this loudly.
“That old bastard played me.
Hahahaha!
He really did it.
It’s quite amusing how far and beyond he went just to damage my plan.
Did you find him or not?” “We’re still looking.
He erased all his traces before sending the footage.
But, we will find him in at most a few days.” “Good, when you do, don’t kill him.
I want to talk with him.” “Understood.” “As for the angry people.
We have no choice but to reveal everything now that we’re in this situation.
I was intending for them to know either way.” “Are you certain… Your Majesty?” “Since when do you question my decisions, Ethia?” “No!
I would never dare to do that!” “Good.” “I shall immediately inform everyone of your decision.” “That’s what I want to hear.
My daughter should always be listening to me.” “…
Yes.” “Good, daughter.
Your mother will certainly be proud of you.” With those words, Ethia finally ended the call and the screen of the computer turned black again, leaving her inside the dimly lit room alone.
