271: Chapter 271- Bloody Meeting (Part 2) 271: Chapter 271- Bloody Meeting (Part 2) Mikayla stopped in his tracks as he stared at the figure in front of him with endless wariness.

The figure was sitting on a dumpster, holding an umbrella that covered them from the rain or so that was what one would think.

However, the umbrella they were holding didn’t have any fabric on it.

It was simply a bunch of steel wires that formed the shape of an umbrella.

Yet, for some reason, and in a sight that defied logic, the droplets of water didn’t seem to pass through and hit him.

Instead, it would splash against something invisible before it slid down, avoiding the individual as if he had some kind of barrier around him.

“How have you been?” The individual asked as he arched the umbrella a little back to show a part of his face.

However, because of the dark atmosphere, only his yellow eyes could be seen through the darkness.

Mikayla stood there silently for a while before he finally sighed, approached the wall before he rested his back on it.

Then, he pulled out a packet of cigarettes and a lighter.

“Since when did you start smoking?” The man asked.

“Before your mother conceived you.” “Pfft!

Haha, you’re the same old man as always, aren’t you?

Your sharp tongue never gets old even for someone like me.” *Click* Lighting the cigarette, Mikayla inhaled the smoke and then exhaled it into the air with a dazed look.

“I quit smoking some decades ago.

You bastards made me go back to it.” “My apologies for ruining your health, friend.” The man responded with a rather apologetic tone.

“No worries, I like to enjoy my last few days on this earth as I want.” Mikayla shook his head.

The two remained silent for a while before the man finally spoke again.

“Why did you do it?” That was the question many wanted to know the answer for.

Why did Mikayla do all of that?

Why did he ruin Divinity and put his life in imminent danger?

He was one of the founders and the man that vouched for Divinity to reach new heights and do exactly what it was doing now.

Yet, in a matter of a few months, he became the complete opposite.

No one knew why, not even the highest individuals in Divinity.

“Do you believe in a sixth sense?” Mikayla answered with a question of his own.

“Isn’t that the single biggest difference between us and the normal humans?”  “That sixth sense told me something a few months ago.

‘This world will never stay the same from here on out’.” He replied as he looked down.

“I saw some things that are far worse than the nightmares one would have on his deathbed.” “When?”  “When I visited the God’s shrine.” Mikayla replied.

“God’s shrine?” The man was confused before his eyes squinted slightly.

“What did you see?” “I saw the end of this world as we know it.

After it happens, everything will be over.” After saying that, Mikayla looked at the man again.

“You still have the chance to stop this, you and the others.

You all still have the chance to change the outcome.

I did everything I could to prevent it.

I can’t do it alone.” “I can’t do that now, can I?” The man asked as he jumped down from the dumpster.

“Don’t take it personally, brother.

I am doing what I have to do.” “This won’t make your mother happy in her grave if that’s what you really think.

You can kill me as you wish.

However, remember that she died for a reas-” “Shut up.

I’m not here to talk about her.” “Me neither, kid.

But, think about it after you see me dead.

I don’t want you to act upon it but just… Spin that thought in your head.” Mikayla replied as he flicked the cigarette to the side before he put his hand inside his raincoat before he pulled out a long sword.

The sword had a beautiful icy color all across with beautiful engravings around the hilt and the handle.

Its mere presence decreased the temperature of the place.

“The infamous Blizzard Eater.

Hahaha!

I missed it!” “It missed you too.” Then, without hesitation, Mikayla dashed toward the mysterious man at a speed that defied logic itself.

He was quiet, his steps barely audible as he closed the distance between them and slashed his sword down.

Everything happened in the split of a second.

No normal eye would be able to follow that movement.

However, shockingly, the man saw everything clearly.

Moving his hands, he twisted the umbrella as the steel wires suddenly met the sword.

For the first moment, no impact happened.

However, a second later, a huge gush of air exploded everywhere, sending the water around them splashing against the walls.

Jumping back, the two immediately dashed again toward each other.

Their weapons clashed powerfully, sending shockwaves upon shockwaves that made the buildings around them crack.

Even when they were after each other’s throat, they still kept in mind the location they were in.

The fight continued getting more and more violent as the mysterious individual started overpowering Mikayla.

Their weapons moved swiftly through the air as their bodies twisted and turned in a chaotic yet beautiful dance.

Neither of them held back the intention to kill the other and that was apparent in their movements.

However, it was clear that Mikayla wasn’t up for the fight.

As he slashed with his sword, the mysterious man used that moment to twist the umbrella, capturing the blade in the wires.

Then, he used his leg to kick Mikayla in the side.

“Blurgh!” A loud groan echoed in the alley as Mikayla flew through the air and smashed against the wall.

The man looked at him, with incomprehensible eyes as he said.

“I don’t want to use my strength against you, Mikayla.

Just give up and let me end your life.

If the others find you, you won’t have an easy death.” “Shut up!

I don’t need your pity words!

If I’m going to die, it’s because you earned it!” Mikayla replied as he stood up and picked up his sword.

The pain from the hit was throbbing in his body like a heart, each pulse more painful than the other.

“Sigh, you really left me no choice, Mikayla.” Saying those words, the man suddenly extended his umbrella before he grabbed the handle with his left hand.

Then, he started slowly twisting it.

The rotation started visible to the eye and kept accelerating second by second.

In a matter of a few seconds, the rotation became strong enough that a gush of wind was created around the umbrella.

Then, that gush of air grew more and more violent by the second.

At the same time, Origin started penetrating the steel wires, covering it in its orange hue and connecting them in a beautiful, web-like connection that formed a full on Origin fabric..

However, from Mikayla’s point of view, the image was far more terrifying.

“Hahaha… You’re really not gonna go easy on me, bastard.” Murmuring so, Mikayla used that moment to lift his sword.

“Time to wake up again, my old friend.

Blizzard Eater!!”
