With the breakfast……….no, the carrots in front of me, Maya unforgiving as always, urged me to eat.
Can she just give up making me eat these damn carrots already?
“Lord Rudy, you must do as Maya says. It is important that you eat it all.”
“Liz, not you too……….”
I seem to have no allies.
Fine………I am already used to being alone anyway.

That’s right. In the end, Maya was going to continue as my caretaker as usual, and Anne would look after Liz instead.
Personally, I would prefer to have Maya who she had known for a while be in charge as Liz’s caretaker, and it would allow her to stay more relaxed in such a new environment as well so I suggested to switch but, [Anne can’t reign you in properly when needed my Prince so…] Maya shut me down with those words.
And Liz seemed to agree with it wholeheartedly as well leaving me with no other choice.
No, I mean, Maya was my first real caretaker as well so I’d be happy to have her with me but still……
“C’mon then, hurry up. If you keep dilly dallying around, you’ll be late for the entrance ceremony at this rate.”
“Lord Rudy, do your best.”
“Noo…….please, no mooore…….”
Under the strict gazes of Liz and Maya, I brought the carrots to my mouth with tears flowing down my eyes.

“fuu……..looks like we’ll make it just in time.”
Inside the carriage as we headed to the Academy, Maya shot me a glare before sighing in relief.
I do feel a little guilty about it but, please, forgive me.
“However, we’ll both be starting our new lives in the dorms so I’m afraid my time alone with Lord Rudy will drastically decrease. I simply can’t accept that.”
“Well, that can’t be helped. Of course, I’ll pick all the same electives as you Liz so we can be together as much as possible but, we’ll have no choice but to part when it’s time to return to the dorms unfortunately…….”
“haah……..”
Sighing, Liz dropped her shoulders.
Or rather, if you’re going to allow maids into the male dorms, what’s the point in separating boys and girls in the first place…………
“W-well we can have meals together at the cafeteria, and can spend time with each other in the common rooms until it’s time for lights out as well, so we should be able to more or less maintain our lifestyle from the Scorpio palace, don’t you think?”
I feel like we’ve been having this conversation every day over the past couple of days.
That’s how painful Liz was finding being separated from me but, as imprudent as it may sound, seeing her so dejected about it all only made me feel happier about her feelings for me.
That said, seeing her so sad made my heart hurt as well so I would often console her like this.
“muu………Lord Rudy, you’re always so calm and composed about this, aren’t you? Are you saying that you don’t feel lonely or sad from being separated from me?”
“O-of course, I’m sad too you know?”
And that’s basically how this one set of conversation always goes.
Seeing her wanting to monopolize me…….no, straight up bind me to her side, only made Liz seem more and more cute to me.
“yes yes, Lady Lizbeth, that should be enough peace of mind for you, no?”
“……….Maya, can you not even let me enjoy getting pampered by Lord Rudy a little longer?”
“Put yourself in my shoes and think how it feels watching all this. Especially Anne here, after seeing this completely different side to you that you never showed at the Fahlcrantz home, she’s become really disillusioned you know?”

Anne got dragged in the crossfire as she quickly refuted her claims in a panic.

To change the topic, I pointed towards the scene ahead of our carriage.
Just like us, there were a bunch of noble boys and girls coming to attend their first day of the academy, hence creating a long line of carriages.
Furthermore, while I could use my authority and position as a prince to cut through the line, I didn’t plan on doing so.

“Liz, why don’t we get off this carriage and walk together the rest of the way instead?”

The weather was nice, so we could really enjoy our walk together.
Not to mention, it seemed to have made Liz really happy as well.
“Alright then Maya, we’ll go on ahead on foot, so let’s meet up later at the Academy okay?”
“Please wait just a moment. I’ll come with……..wait, Prince Rudolf!? Lady Lizbeth!?”
Ignoring Maya’s attempt at stopping us, both me and Liz jumped out of the carriage.
“fufu……..Lord Rudy, we’re finally alone again.”
“That we are. I too, wanted to spend some time together, just the two of us.”
“Oh my.”
I took her hand as a brilliant smile bloomed on her face, and we began walking past the long line of carriages at our own pace and leisure…….but.
