Chapter 729: Mothers healing - part 2
She shifted slightly on the bed, still sitting with her back to him.
"Is there something wrong with the technique?" she asked, concern creeping back into her voice.
"Or is it because your body is too damaged right now?"
Julian remained silent for a few seconds, as if thinking.
"I’m not sure," he said eventually.
"The vessels in my arms are still fragile. Maybe they can’t handle the full load yet. If I force it, I might damage them further."
Olivia bit her lower lip, clearly conflicted.
She had offered her mana to help him recover, but now the process had slowed down dramatically. Part of her felt relieved, the intense, humiliating sensations had eased. But another part of her, the part that had seen how badly injured he was, felt anxious that he wasn’t recovering fast enough.
She took a slow breath, trying to steady herself.
"Then... what should we do?" she asked softly.
"If this rate continues, it will take hours for you to recover properly."
Julian stayed quiet, letting the silence stretch. His hands remained resting on her shoulders, the faint blue glow still present but much weaker than before.
Inside, he was carefully observing her reaction.
Olivia’s body language had changed. She was no longer as tense as when the transfer had been at full strength. Her breathing had calmed, but there was a new kind of restlessness in the way she sat as if part of her was disappointed by the sudden drop in intensity, even if she would never admit it.
After another long pause, she spoke again, her voice quieter this time.
"Kraven... if you need more contact to make it work properly... then tell me. I don’t want you to suffer because of my hesitation."
She didn’t turn around, but Julian could clearly hear the mix of concern and reluctant resolve in her tone.
Julian remained silent for a few more seconds, letting the silence do its work.
After a long moment, he finally spoke,
"Should I lower my hands to your back?"
Olivia’s body tensed immediately.
The question hung in the air like a challenge. She didn’t answer right away. Her fingers tightened on the edge of the bedsheet as conflicting emotions surged through her.
There was concern for her son’s injuries, embarrassment at the intimacy of the situation, and also reluctant awareness that the previous strong flow had felt... strangely effective.
She swallowed hard.
Her mind raced. If she refused, Julian’s recovery would be painfully slow. If she agreed... she would be allowing even more direct contact. The thought of his hands moving lower on her body made her cheeks burn.
After what felt like an eternity, she spoke, her voice barely above a whisper.
"...Yes."
The single word came out soft, almost tentative, but there was no hesitation in her decision. She had already crossed several lines today. Turning back now felt pointless.
Julian didn’t speak. He simply moved.
His hands slowly slid down from her shoulders, tracing the curve of her back through the thin fabric of the orange gown.
The contact was gentle but filled with intent.
Olivia’s breath hitched the moment she felt his palms rest on the middle of her back, just below her shoulder blades. The warmth of his hands seeped through the material, making her acutely aware of every point of contact.
"Is this alright?"
Julian asked quietly, his voice close to her ear.
Olivia nodded once, not trusting herself to speak. Her heart was beating faster now.
Julian closed his eyes again and focused.
He sent another wave of his mana through his palms. This time, because the contact point was closer to her spine and core, the connection felt genuinely stronger and smoother. Julian also pushed his mana more aggressively.
The blue glow returned, brighter than before, and Olivia immediately felt the pull intensify.
"Ahh..."
A soft gasp escaped her lips as the mana flow strengthened once again.
The sensation was different from when his hands had been on her shoulders. It felt deeper, more direct. She could feel her mana responding more readily and flowing toward Julian in an unyielding current.
"Mmmh..."
Olivia pressed her lips together tightly, trying to hold everything in, but it was of no use. Soft sounds kept slipping past despite her effort, each one making her cheeks burn even hotter.
Julian kept his hands steady on her back, carefully controlling the transfer. The mana continued to move through the connection, entering his vessels and nourishing his depleted core. A faint sense of relief spread through him as the strain in his body began to ease.
The process itself carried a subtle, almost soothing sensation.
Olivia’s breathing grew heavier again. Her back arched slightly under his palms as another wave of mana left her body.
"Haa... Kraven..." She whispered shakily, her voice laced with both concern and embarrassment. "Is... is this better?"
"Yes," Julian replied softly, his tone calm despite the situation. "Much better. The flow is stronger now."
He paused for a moment, then added gently, "If it becomes too much, tell me and I’ll stop."
Olivia didn’t respond immediately. She sat there silently, allowing his hands to remain on her back. The sensation was intense, but she endured it, telling herself it was only to help her son recover.
It was then when she felt his hands on her back shift.
It wasn’t a big movement, just a slight, almost unnoticeable adjustment, but it was enough. His palms slid a little lower and outward.
Suddenly, the tips of his fingers were now gently brushing against the soft, outer curves of her breasts.
Olivia’s breath caught sharply in her throat.
Her entire body stiffened. A hot flush rushed up her neck and spread across her cheeks. She could clearly feel the warmth of his fingers resting there.
"Mmm..."
A soft, involuntary sound escaped her lips before she could stop it.
She quickly bit her lower lip, horrified by the sudden progression. Her heart began hammering wildly in her chest. She told herself it was an accident, that he was simply adjusting his grip to maintain the mana flow. But the rationalization did little to calm the sudden rush of heat flooding her body.
