Chapter 3892 - 3880: Legal Letter
Chapter 3892: Chapter 3880: Legal Letter
Ma Zhiwei was completely unaware of the strange mood of the three.
He continued to talk confidently about the situation inside the factory, and he spoke with authority.
If Lin Yi hadn’t captured footage of the inside, he thought he might have been fooled by them.
The entire filming process lasted about half an hour before the four of them emerged from the factory building.
Once outside, Lin Yi glanced to his left.
He clearly remembered that heading in this direction would lead to where the pit was used for pickle fermentation yesterday.
But now it was fenced off, with not a gap in sight.
"Director Ma, what’s inside here?" Lin Yi knowingly asked.
"Well..."
Ma Zhiwei visibly paused, then smiled again, "Inside is where we’re preparing to expand the second factory area. Construction is underway, so we’ve fenced it to prevent any accidents."
"I see."
"Come, let’s go to my office. This isn’t the place to talk."
Ma Zhiwei quickly changed the subject, afraid Lin Yi would inquire further about this matter.
"Alright, let’s talk in your office."
Then, Lin Yi and the other two were taken to Ma Zhiwei’s office.
Another segment of the interview was conducted, filled with optimistic talk about the future.
It was apparent he wasn’t facing the camera for the first time; he handled queries adeptly.
The latter half of the interview lasted about 20 minutes, and when it ended, Ma Zhiwei shook hands with the group.
"Dear journalists, don’t rush back. I’ll book a restaurant now; let’s have a meal together. Since you’re here, give me a chance to host you."
"Director Ma, we have other work to do; let’s wait for another opportunity for a meal. It’s not urgent right now."
"Since that’s what you say, I won’t insist. Next time you come, make sure to call me in advance."
"Sure, no problem."
After exchanging a few brief pleasantries, the three left.
Back in the car, Zhou Li grumbled:
"These people are shameless, they can say such things without hesitation. I feel embarrassed for them."
"Every factory or company needs someone like that; it’s just a job requirement."
"I think we can head back, edit the materials, and broadcast them. Leave any rectification work to the relevant authorities."
"Let’s go, head back home."
Lin Yi started the car and drove toward Zhong Hai.
Ring ring ring—
On the road, Zhou Li’s phone rang; it was Feng Chengrong calling.
"How did the filming go?"
"It’s all done, we’re preparing to head back."
"Alright, hurry back, don’t waste time."
"Is there something going on that’s urgent?"
"Can’t explain over the phone, we’ll talk when you’re back."
"Okay."
After hanging up, Ma Jun looked at Zhou Li.
"What did Brother Rong call you about?"
"Didn’t say much, just told us to hurry back, said don’t waste time, acting all mysterious."
"Then drive faster, let’s get back quickly."
"No need to rush, drive safely." Zhou Li advised.
"Got it."
Lin Yi, driving, returned to Zhong Hai in less than two hours.
The three didn’t eat out and headed straight back to the station.
"They rushed us back, is something up?"
Entering the room, Zhou Li watched Feng Chengrong with inquiry.
"Shengxin Pharmaceutical Factory sent us a lawyer’s letter, mainly targeting you three."
"Hmm?"
All three froze for a moment, Lin Yi said:
"We just investigated; the matter hasn’t been reported externally. What are they suing us for?"
"They claim you illegally trespassed on secured areas of the pharmaceutical factory, suspecting you of leaking formulas, hence issuing the lawyer’s letter."
"Ugly toads acting like frogs, playing all kinds of tricks." Lin Yi laughed.
"I guess Wang Jia’s persuasion didn’t work, so they resorted to this." Ma Jun said.
"That’s pretty much it, so I called to get you back quickly."
"It’s no big deal; I’m not afraid of a lawyer’s letter, even a lawsuit." Zhou Li nonchalantly remarked:
"Even if we went inside, no one can do anything to us. Journalists investigating is justifiable, and I hope they sue to make a bigger fuss; it will make the exposure more effective."
Zhou Li then looked at Lin Yi and Ma Jun.
"What’s your take?"
"Agreed, the people at the factory seem quite amusing." Lin Yi said.
"If all three agree, continue the investigation." Feng Chengrong said.
"That’s my thought too." Ma Jun said.
"Then let’s go ahead, damn it."
"Brother Rong, there’s another thing." Dong Xiao said:
"Wang Jia’s husband, Ma Anchen, is the producer of Morning News. Broadcasting this might offend him."
"Damn it, don’t bring him up; it irritates me more." Feng Chengrong spat angrily.
"Why such anger?" Zhou Li asked.
"Last night, Ma Anchen called me, told me not to broadcast anything about Shengxin Pharmaceutical Factory. His tone was commanding, like I owe him!"
"Oh, I didn’t know about this. It’s like he doesn’t respect you at all." Ma Jun said.
"Morning News is considered a flagship program; it’s normal for them to be arrogant, given our low ratings." Dong Xiao said helplessly.
"Sigh..." Zhou Li sighed, somewhat resigned.
"Don’t overthink; this has to be reported, even if the director comes today, it won’t change."
Feng Chengrong turned to Lin Yi.
"Are the results for the second water sample out?"
"Let me check."
Lin Yi took out his phone and saw new emails, along with messages from Mi Li.
Without a doubt, the second test results were out.
He opened the email containing the test report.
"Just as we expected, the second sample’s results show no issues; all indicators are qualified. I’ll send it to the group for you to view."
Subsequently, people in the office opened the test report.
"In such a short time, they made the water sample qualified, indicating they’re quite adept at this skill." Dong Xiao said.
The group nodded, agreeing with this observation.
"We now have both water sample results and interviews from the involved parties; it’s ready for recording and broadcast."
Feng Chengrong turned to the post-production team, looking serious: "Pay special attention to editing and producing the video; this is an important program, no one can slip up."
"Understood."
