Chapter 520: Rewards from the Trial?
Chapter 520: Rewards from the Trial?
Today was May 3rd 2034, just a day after Lillian and everyone had escaped the Trial.
After an entire night of partying, they found themselves collapsing onto their beds face-first.
Although the Jester provided services in recovering injuries, there was one thing he didn’t heal. It was mental fatigue.
Considering the eventful day that had all gone through, it was only right that they deserved rest for how much of the night they had left.
Lillian, lying down on the top bed of the bunk bed she shared with Viesta, looked out the window beside her before pulling out her phone—sighing at the lack of bars in disappointment.
She wanted to call Marionette.
’Oh, well... I will just have to wait.’
It wouldn’t be long, for by tomorrow afternoon, they would have arrived in the Eastern nation—Luton.
Seeing that everyone inside the cabin was asleep, Lillian decided to pull up her system screen, curious about what she had gained from her Trial.

After claiming her reward for the mission given to her for escaping the Trial and learning the Deep Sea Hunter combat style, Lillian smiled smugly to herself—happy about the points she had now.
’Just half a million points more and I would have enough for December.’
Shifting her attention from her enormous amount of points, Lillian decided to look into the trait she received, intending to look at the new [Mana Realm] section later.

[Water Maiden: As a Maiden, you’re granted an immense amount of beauty and abilities that grow stronger relative to the concentration of water around you.
The features of this Trait are:
1. Your allies would find your presence pleasing to be around, while foes would find themselves hesitant to be around you.
2. Your foes would find themselves weighed down by a gravity-like force, as long as they are within 30 metres of you. This effect can persist even through obstacles.
3. The strength of any water-based attacks increases to a maximum of double its original strength.
4. Any water-based attacks that you’re capable of defending against will passively come to a halt before you without intervention.]

’So, you’re the reason for how I look...’ Lillian thought and hummed silently.
The more she read through what the Trait granted her, the more pleased and satisfied she felt. As expected of a Trait from a Tier 4 Trial!
’Looks like the Gods wasn’t stingy with me, seems like I might have entertained them quite a bit.’
Although all Lillian really did was fight, maybe they enjoyed the more emotional aspect that went on inside this Trial.
Shrugging her shoulders, Lillian put the thought into the back of her mind.
She then moved on to the Shard that she obtained from killing the Drowned King.
With a wave of her hand, she summoned it from her Mana Realm.
What appeared was a floating jet-black spiked crown with neon-blue outlines that appeared as though it was made out of pure energy.
This was the Drowned King’s crown.
And it had an imposing dark aura to it...
Sensing the volume of mana radiating off of this singular item, Lillian decided to sneak to the deck of the ship, fearing that the crown might cause everyone inside the cabin to stir awake.
After sneaking onto the deck and greeting the captain, who was operating the ship without a sign of fatigue on his face, Lillian summoned the crown again before reading its description.

[Item Name: Abyssal Crown]
[Item Type: Accessory]
[Item Grade: B]
[Item Rank: N/A]
[Item Description: The Abyssal Crown, otherwise known as the Crown of the Drowned King, was a casual gift bestowed upon the Drowned King by his main patron, the Drowning God—who had usurped the powers of the Abyss God—and was crowned as the King of the Abyssal trenches.]
[Enchantments: Abyssal Reservoir, Soul Split, Abyssal Dominion, Soul Recovery]
[Abyssal Reservoir: The Abyssal Crown serves as a secondary mana reserve for its wearer and can be used whenever.]
[Soul Split: The wearer can separate their soul from their body, allowing connection between the two through the Abyssal Crown. However, the use of a tether is obligatory if the wearer wishes for their soul to remain undamaged outside of their body.]
[Abyssal Dominion: As long as the Abyssal Crown is worn, these features will apply:
1. Seaborn Creatures will either retreat or show hesitation to attack you.
2. Magical illusions or acts of possession will weaken within this aura.
3. Spoken Commands hold an oppressive weight.]
[Soul Recovery: By drawing mana from [Abyssal Reservoir], the wearer could slowly heal the damage inflicted on their soul.]

If Lillian had to be honest, she had never ever gotten a Shard from the Drowned King at all with every playthrough she made. So, to think she got his actual crown amongst all things was surprising to say the least.
It was almost funny that the only time she ever got a Shard from him was when she fought him in person instead of as a player.
’The enchantments aren’t that bad, too~"
With the enchantments on the crown, it was obvious this leaned more towards the supportive sides of things instead of the offensive.
Lillian then held her chin, visibly confused.
’But where’s the enchantment that made it disappear?’
Shuffling through her memories, Lillian recalled that the crown would always fade away with the death of the Drowned King before the player could steal it.
Lillian had always thought it must’ve had some enchantment that might’ve been the cause of it, but perhaps not...
Could it be because of the Jester’s doing?
’It could... But another reason could be that...’
The Drowning God would swoop in and take it.
"Heh."
Summoning a reflective mirror of water, Lillian put on the crown and scrutinised herself.
While repeatedly adjusting it, she smirked in satisfaction, finding herself looking more regal with it on.
"Not too shabby, if I do say so myself~"
After a minute or two, she tossed her new crown back into her Mana Realm before checking out the brand new harpoon she had gained—something she was excited to look at properly.
Appearing out of her spatial ring, Lillian marvelled at the harpoon that laid in her hands.
It was the Drowned King’s harpoon.
She gently caressed the harpoon’s blackwood shaft and trailed her fingers over its icy blue veins that streaked across its surface, watching as a faint mist began to flow out of them.
The Rabbit then rested her fingers against the flat side of the harpoon’s sharp head, which was matte-black at the base and slowly turned silvery-blue nearer to the tip.
It looked more like a long, mystical needle than just a mystical harpoon.
Lillian then waved her hand, bringing up the harpoon’s description.
