I Will Create a Good Ending for the Yandere Villainess

Chapter 553: Close but Separated?

Chapter 553: Close but Separated?

After giving one last look at the strange room beside hers, Lillian entered her room before throwing herself onto the bed.

Thump...

She hadn’t slept for two days straight.

Although she could probably go on for much longer, if it wasn’t for all the things that happened today.

Lying on her back, Lillian pulled her phone out and turned it on; she had charged it inside the limousine.

[10:56 AM Saturday 3rd March]

There were still 4 days left until the Legacy Table.

Swiping over to her notifications, Lillian saw a list of missed phone calls; all from Marionette.

The Rabbit’s eyes shot wide open, while her heart ached dearly - she felt like she wanted to cry inside.

’I should’ve charged my phone much earlier!’

...

"Ah, sorry!"

Lying on top of her bed, still dressed formally in her family’s uniform, Marionette woke up groggily as a familiar voice echoed from behind the doors to her room.

’Is she here...?’ Marionette internally asked, expectantly.

Just earlier, she felt her darkness react, causing her to stir and reign it back in. With her journey to Luton and to this estate, the Corruption within her was behaving quietly - well, even.

But that was until she arrived at the estate; her darkness lashed out at one of the maids.

Slowly sitting up, she popped the first two buttons of her uniform, allowing her chest to breathe; her face was partially covered in sweat.

She then looked towards the doors to her room. Should she leave to confirm that it was Lillian who was outside her room not long ago? And if it was... Who was she apologising to?

"Lillian..." Marionette muttered yearningly before looking towards her phone. Just earlier, she had been trying to call to inform Lillian of her idea.

Unfortunately... She didn’t pick up. Was Lillian ignoring her now? She wasn’t upset that their call ended abruptly, was she?

Because of the cursed Corruption inside her body, these thoughts sprang inside her mind, reproducing rapidly like rabbits in mating season.

It was only after she had called her uncle that she knew a possible reason why.

An outbreak... She knew the eastern nation had a ridiculous problem with outbreaks, but to think it would involve Lillian twice!

’She was able to repel the first...’

Marionette scrolled through her phone, reading the articles about Lillian she had saved the links to and found herself smiling as she read them.

[Mysterious Tier 3 Mage saves a tourist attraction from destruction?!]

[A Water Mage that is superior to aquatic monsters!?]

[Identity of the mysterious white-haired maiden?]

She continued to scroll through, her eyes glistening as she found blurry pictures of the "mysterious mage".

Medium-length white hair, bright blue eyes as sparkly as sapphires, and a black mask that covered the lower half of her face. Marionette knew this was Lillian, but for some reason... She felt the girl looked different.

She remained the same to her flaw, but something about Lillian was different. Even with the mask that Lillian wore, Marionette was able to gauge that the girl’s beauty had definitely increased.

Feeling her chest tighten, Marionette pressed the insides of her legs together - fighting the curiosity inside her chest. If the person outside really was Lillian, then... She wanted to see her, she wanted to see how much more beautiful her girlfriend could get...

Marionette’s face became unusually red; was this a fever?

As Marionette felt her body burn up, she found her phone vibrating in her hand; her screen switched to a different one, which read:

[Lillian is calling...]

The Assassin’s body tensed, her breath hitching as her heart momentarily skipped a beat, as she accepted the call and held the phone to her ear.

"Lillian?"

...

"Lillian?"

Lillian couldn’t help but smile happily as she heard Marionette’s voice through the phone - unable to sit still as giddiness took over.

"Heya, Marionette! Sorry for not being able to pick up, my phone died. Hehe..." Lillian giggled sheepishly.

"Oh. I see... Yes, that was the same for me as well."

"Hm? What do you mean?" Lillian tilted her head.

"I meant when our call was cut short abruptly. My phone died at that time." Marionette responded.

"Oh! That’s no problem at all!" Lillian exclaimed, giggling, "Here I thought you were playing a cruel~ joke on me; had me all pouty and such."

"I... Apologise. I didn’t plan for that to happen..." Marionette said regrettably. "My phone now has a full battery. So, we can talk for much longer."

Lillian, momentarily surprised by her girlfriend’s apology, laughed at what she heard next. "No, no! No need to apologise, it’s fine! And yeah... I would like that very much..." Lillian shyly muttered, answering Marionette’s last sentence.

Marionette, who was in the next room, placed a hand over her chest as she felt her heart beat quicker.

The two then engaged in back-and-forth chatter, talking about their day - but mostly Lillian, as Marionette tried to avoid letting Lillian know about her current condition.

"And then, this huge stone monster appeared from the ground and destroyed the entire academy, except for the floating island. I tell you, Marionette, that thing’s aura left me shaking terribly! Luckily, the acting headmaster took it away and killed it..."

Although Lillian didn’t see EVERYTHING that happened, with her knowledge of the game, she was able to spin up something.

Marionette listened keenly to Lillian’s narration, gripping the sides of her phone tightly. That outbreak definitely wasn’t normal...

"Are you okay...? Are you injured anywhere still?"

"Hm? Oh, hahaha, I’m not. But I did lose half of my legs when I fell into a trap, though!" Lillian laughed, not knowing that her words caused Marionette’s expression to darken.

But that wasn’t the only thing that darkened as her veins did as well, albeit incredibly slow...

"I see... I suppose, you had recovered them, yes?" Marionette asked.

"Mhm, your uncle was kind enough to help with that—"

"My uncle... Helped you?"

Sensing that Marionette was stunned by what she said, Lillian nodded at her phone, "Yeah! Even I was surprised. And get this, your uncle has even agreed to support our relationship, isn’t that great?!"

"He... Did? Are you certain?" Marionette widened her eyes.

Even more so, from what she heard next.

"That’s what I got from him, with what he said to me."

With one thing after another, she was left stunned.

First was the Mountain Sieger, then it was her uncle helping her, then it was the fact that her uncle was now supporting their relationship...

Did Lillian manage to impress her uncle that much? If so... Maybe she could do the same to the others...

"Have you... Arrived at the estate yet?"Marionette asked.

"Yeah, actually. When I got to my room, I immediately went to call you. Hehe... You could say I missed you a lot." Lillian responded shyly.

Marionette shuffled in her bed, unconsciously pressing the insides of her legs together - her heart beating quicker. The Assassin felt stuck, contained, imprisoned inside her room.

"I miss you too, Lillian... Could you tell me which guest room you’ve been given? The number, I mean. I believe one of the servants here should’ve told you."

"Hm? Oh, uhm, sure! I remember it was... Guest Room 2."

"Guest Room 2..." Marionette repeated, but then realised.

’Isn’t that one next to mine?’
