I Will Create a Good Ending for the Yandere Villainess

Chapter 657: Can Light Burn Its Owner?

Chapter 657: Can Light Burn Its Owner?

Reph knew that the monster before him wasn’t completely at fault for his friends’ deaths. It was the cultist priest’s fault. But with how he was right now, only in his dreams could Reph hope to beat him.

When he saw Albrecht’s current state, Reph had already begun to grieve heavily for his friends. The hope that they could’ve survived, or perhaps be left in a state where he could place their remains in coffins, was shattered.

He won’t ever be able to see their faces again. Nor would he be able to see their corpses. So, when he was given the chance to be able to let out his grief—

“ON MY ROYAL NAME AS LIONBRIGHT…”

—He took it.

“YOU WILL NOT LIVE TO SEE TOMORROW!”

Albrecht watched as a myriad of lights shone from Reph’s body, coming from the numerous gems adorning his body. Slowly, Albrecht watched as the prince’s body was lifted from the ground.

In the next moment—

BAM!

—He felt the world spin.

With his hands balled into fists and burning light radiating from them, Reph began to unleash heavy blows of punches and kicks.

BAM! BAM! BAM!

Since young, Reph wasn’t the type to use weapons; not in the usual sense. He always found holding a weapon to be too bothersome and uncomfortable for him, unlike using his bare hands.

But unfortunately, due to society norms, all nobles—including royalty—were obligated to learn some form of weaponship. So, unless for a casual setting, it was very rare for him to use a weapon.

It was especially so when—

BAM!

—He was fighting for his life.

With an array of flashing lights, Reph zoomed through the air, delivering a hailstorm of devastating blows upon Albrecht, who struggled to break free from the relentless attacks. Each punch Reph swung felt like hammers of unimaginable weight. And each kick Reph landed made Albrecht feel he was being hit with steel beams.

Despite setting his defences to the max, Albrecht could still feel the devastating force permeating through the metallic shell!

If it wasn’t for the electricity and metallic sheen he stole from Torahiko, along with Albrecht’s own ability to regenerate at high speed, he was certain it would’ve been done in by now.

CRASH!

Slamming his back against the wall, Albrecht felt his mind go blank for a brief moment. The metallic shell that wrapped around his body was horrifically damaged. Dents, cracks, burn marks, and bald spots in his defences. In a few cracks, there was even blood seeping through!

When Albrecht inevitably woke up, he was instantly met with a rude awakening.

Appearing before him in a blinding flash, Reph balled his fists tightly before pummeling Albrecht deeper into the wall; each punch that landed on Albrecht’s metal shell resounded like gunshots.

BANG! BANG! BANG!

Reph swung his fists sporadically, targeting every individual part of Albrecht’s mutated body; the speed at which he attacked left no room for Albrecht to breathe.

And no room to counterattack.

CRASH!

Shattering through the wall, the two tumbled into the next chamber.

C-crack…!

With every punch Reph made, the gems encrusted on his gloves cracked—unable to bear the impact behind his rage-filled blows. But Reph didn’t care; in fact, it was more accurate to say he didn’t realise it.

Lost in anger, he disregarded his surroundings and bodily safety. Because of that, he failed to keep tabs on his energy levels.

Thud.

“PUAGHK—!”

Dropping down on one knee, Reph vomited with heavy pants in between. His arms were sore, and so were his legs. His vision was blurry, and his eyes felt strained the more he forced them to stay awake.

‘I can’t keep this up for much longer…’

Reph lifted his gaze and looked towards Albrecht, whose body was collapsed over a shattered dining table several rooms ahead of him. The wicked burn marks and harrowing bruises that littered his body were healed a moment later. And the shattered metallic shell that wrapped around his body returned much stronger.

‘No matter how many attacks I throw at him, he’ll just heal his injuries…’ Reph slowly moved his hand over his mana core, ‘And the longer I continue to attack him, the less favourable a position I would be in later.’

This was a battle of endurance, one that Reph would undoubtedly lose due to his Flaw.

The radiant light in Reph’s eyes shook when the thought of losing crossed his mind.

‘No… I can’t lose. Not yet. Not when I still have duties left back at home.’

Pushing himself back up to his feet, the prince slowly raised his palms and made them parallel. Then, under his tired gaze, a soft ball of light appeared between them.

‘It’s going to be a bit irresponsible, but I’ll use everything in this one attack.’

It grew, and it grew until it was the size of a basketball. And after a while, it lost its softness, becoming heavy and dense in Reph’s palms. Eventually, it grew to the size of an entire person before suddenly shrinking to marble-sized.

Grabbing the marble-sized ball, Reph crushed it in the centre of his palm.

And when he did—

“[Greater Brilliance].”

—Nothing but sheer utter light could be seen.

Albrecht, sitting up from the table he had snapped in half, widened his eyes as a beam of light five stories tall and wide rushed towards him. The world slowed down around him as he watched the light swallow and vaporise everything in its path. And when he was about to be next, the four-pointed stars in his eyes—that resembled compass arrows—suddenly spun.

Reph breathed haphazardly as his arms shook. The gems that adorned his body were now all shattered. The golden bands that wrapped around his arms were all melted, scarring his pristine skin. Because of this, the value of the jewellery he wore had now dropped significantly, which in turn also affected the strength of his spells.

As he watched the light beam continue moving, he waited expectantly for the kill notification.

“…”

But none came.

‘There’s no way he could’ve survived that, right?’ Reph asked himself, then squinted. He focused his gaze on his humongous spell and felt it was growing larger and larger by the second. ‘How could that be? Could it be that…’

With no time to escape, Reph raised his arms, bracing for impact as the light beam was returned to him. Unfortunately, without any mana to try to divert the beam or defend himself, he was swallowed by his own attack.

Feeling the light of his own attack burn his skin, Reph bitterly smiled with his eyes closed, ‘To my own attack, what a hilarious way to die.’ He had seen many cases like these, be it in real life or through shows and cartoons. But he didn’t ever think it would happen to him.

‘What a shame…’ As Reph was about to open his arms to accept his death, he felt the scorching heat vanish from his skin, followed by a strange liquid being poured on his head.

Curiously opening his eyes, Reph found himself in a very, very dark and warm room.

‘Where am I…?’ He asked himself.

After gathering enough mana for a simple light, Reph brightened up the interior of the room.

His expressions then froze when he was face-to-face with an armoured individual staring directly at him.

And looking through the visor of their helmet, he recognised a pair of golden eyes.

“Yo, Reph! How ya been? Ya look like shit right now, bro. BAHAHAHA!”

Watching as Millis laughed at his pathetic state, Reph couldn’t help but smile in relief. “You scared me, I’m extremely glad to see you…”

Millis snorted smugly, puffing her chest out and placing her hands on her hips, “Of course! The oh-so magnificent Millis have come to save the day, starting with a prince!”

Reph lazily waved his hand dismissively, “Yes, yes, my shining knight in armour… Now, where are we?” He asked in his usual sluggish voice.
