Chapter 51.2 - Mech Contest 2
Chapter 51.2 - Mech Contest 2
The first round of the quarterfinals, Ludwig vs. Iman.
This pairing was a coincidence. When Iman saw the pairings, his eyes lit up with excitement, and he ran to Ludwig to say, “I will show my strength later. Don’t worry about going easy on me because I’m an omega!”
The corner of Ludwig’s mouth twitched slightly, thinking, if he hadn’t said it himself, he would’ve almost forgot Iman is an omega.
The game officially started after three minutes of preparation.
Ludwig used a silver-gray wolf-shaped mech, and Iman continued using his red spider-shaped mech. Different forms of mechs have their own characteristics. For example, wolf-shaped mechs are best at speed and agility, while spider-shaped mechs are great at close combat. Humanoid mecha are relatively comprehensive and balanced in contrast.
To meet an opponent like Ludwig in the finals, Iman was excited just imagining that indifferent face in the cockpit.
I must knock down this cold alpha, and let him look at me with new eyes!
Iman cheered himself up, and controlled the spider-shaped mech to the center of the arena. The splash of red drew all eyes to the center of the arena.
Many online spectators were discussing: “Is this Iman, the son of Brian, the legendary president of the Mech Association?” “He is that omega!” “I heard that he is too enthusiastic and scared away many alphas…”
Iman’s gossip has long spread throughout the Empire.
But at this time, Iman sitting in the cockpit was very calm. Mechs are his best partner.
While other children were playing with toys, he played with various mech parts in his father’s workshop. His familiarity with mechs is like being familiar with one’s own body. He not only operates skillfully, but is also in tune with each and every part of the mech. These complex but exquisite mechanical parts spliced into a high-tech mech in the hands of a mech manufacturer contain terrifying explosive power.
Iman is passionate about many things, but he has always been obsessed with mechs. He has been with mechs since he was a child, and his driving skills are not inferior to most alphas.
As soon as Ludwig fought against Iman, he felt strong pressure. In Iman’s hands, the spider mech suddenly became extremely flexible. Shining brightly under the sun, the eight cold metal legs can be extended at any time to become a defensive cover to resist attacks, or to deliver a sharp blow with the electromagnetic knives at the ends!
Eight legs, eight parts. They not only help maintain balance, but also enable one to respond quickly, defending or attacking the enemy from different directions.
However, spider mechs are extremely hard to use and master. Most seem clumsy when driving a spider mech, yet Iman seemed to have breathed life to this passionate spider mech, making it extremely flexible.
Ludwig attacked from all directions many times, but was blocked time after time and couldn’t find a breakthrough point.
The next moment, Iman finally launched an all-round counterattack!
Of the eight metal legs, four were support points, while the other four pulled out electromagnetic knives from different directions to attack Ludwig!
Ludwig retreated quickly, but found that he had fallen into a trap at some point, and there was no way to retreat. In a blink of an eye, the mech system sounded an alarm. Iman targeted the weak point – the cockpit – and attacked with three electromagnetic knives. Ludwig naturally wanted to defend, but Iman’s real target was not the cockpit. Seeing the flaws revealed by the opponent’s defense against the cockpit, Iman’s spider mech suddenly spit out a sharp electromagnetic knife, and directly cut off the power grid on the neck of the wolf-shaped mech!
Ludwig’s mech stopped operating, and the first round could be said to be a rout.
In the second game, Ludwig adjusted his mentality to fight cautiously, but he still couldn’t find Iman’s weakness. This time he lost to Iman within five minutes.
Ludwig, who came out of the cockpit, looked a little embarrassed as Iman stretched out his hand to him with a smile. “Thank you1it’s more like thank you for the duel!”
Seeing the other party’s bright smiling face, Ludwig felt a little awkward.
He was defeated by this omega?
Is this really the guy who couldn’t even hit a target in the sniper training room? How can he be so skillful at mechs?
Ludwig returned to his seat with doubts. Luo Fei glanced at him with a smile and said, “Iman is very powerful. His proficiency in mechs far surpasses ours.”
Seeing the smiling face on the big screen, Ludwig discovered for the first time that this omega actually had some admirable qualities – he can see the core parts of each mech at a glance.
If Ludwig is only interested in mechs and learned how to drive them since he was a child, then Iman can be considered a real expert and professional.
He is worthy of being the son of Brian, the empire’s most outstanding mecha maker.
Seeing Ludwig looking at Iman who beat him up with a complicated expression, Luo Fei smiled and patted his roommate on the shoulder. “Your first impression of Iman should be bad, but in fact, if you get to know him better, you may find that this guy is quite cute and very talented. His talent in mech manufacturing is not inferior to that of his father.”
Ludwig looked stiff: “Why are you telling me this?”
Luo Fei smiled and said, “Iman likes you. As his friend, I hope you have a better impression of him.”
Ludwig didn’t speak. He had a really bad impression of Iman in the past, but today he was beaten by Iman twice, and became a little interested in the omega.
He suddenly felt that Iman is different from other omegas, and it was quite special.
Luo Fei went on to say, “Don’t worry, with Iman’s personality, even if he wins the prize, he will definitely give it to you.”
Ludwig: “………”
What is this feeling of being taken care of by an omega? He doesn’t want Iman to help him win any prizes!
The next moment, the pairings for the next round were displayed on the big screen. In the quarter-finals, Luo Fei vs. Bolt, a player from Hermann University.
Luo Fei turned his head to look at Mo Han who was sitting beside him.
Mo Han raised the corners of his lips and whispered in his ear, “Come on, don’t get beaten too badly.”
Luo Fei smiled slightly, and leaned into Mo Han’s ear and said, “I’ll win Bolt, and you should also win against your opponent. The next round will be our duel.”
Mo Han said, “I’m looking forward to it.”
Luo Fei said softly: “I am also looking forward to fighting with you.”
In front of audiences from all over the Empire, the two of them whispered to each other like no one else.
Lin Yuan, who was sitting in the auditorium, scratched his head in doubt, and said, “The person who whispered to Luo Fei seems familiar? He seems to have a good relationship.”
“Brother, he is Mo Han.” Ling An reminded helplessly. His brother was too nervous and didn’t recognize Mo Han – the cause of Luo Fei’s distraction at his birthday party.
Lin Yuan widened his eyes, carefully looking at Mo Han on the holographic screen. “Ah, Mo Han, no wonder he looks familiar.”
Seeing Mo Han and Luo Fei heads bowed, whispering together on screen, Ling An could see that Mo Han is not indifferent to Luo Fei. How is there any repulsion on his face? The atmosphere between the two of them is like a sweet couple, but they haven’t noticed it yet.
The eyes of the people of the Empire are discerning. Whispering like that, they should try to avoid the cameras. Everything is broadcast live and the public will see them whispering intimately at the finals. It’s also thanks to Mo Han being an alpha, otherwise their scandal would have hit the headlines today.
Thinking of this, Ling An chuckled in his heart. If the public knew that the First Prince liked an alpha, their jaws would probably drop in shock.
Next up – Luo Fei vs. Mo Han!
