___

The massive tower stretched high into the sky, its layered glass panels reflecting streams of blue sunless light across neighbouring buildings like shimmering waves.

Every inch of the structure was covered with adaptive reflective glass that constantly adjusted its transparency according to the light density around it.

Shadows of flying cars swept across the building’s surface one after another, sliding through the crystal walls like dark phantoms.

Above the city, the sky looked alive. Hundreds of airborne vehicles moved through organised traffic lanes projected by holographic guidance systems.

Small civilian hover cars glided between enormous cargo ships whose engines pulsed with glowing neon-blue energy. Metallic traffic rails floated in the air, shifting directions automatically while drones moved in synchronised formations between skyscrapers carrying deliveries and data capsules.

Occasionally, giant digital advertisements flickered across the clouds themselves through atmospheric projection systems.

Below, the streets remained perfectly clean and unnaturally smooth. Vehicles moved silently over magnetic roads, producing only low humming vibrations from their anti-gravity engines.

No smoke polluted the air.

No dust lingered around the roads.

A Green Environment!

Even the sidewalks looked polished enough to reflect the city lights. Robotic cleaners moved quietly along the edges of the streets, instantly erasing scraps, stains, or even traces of tyre marks before they could remain for more than a few seconds.

Pedestrians walked casually along the illuminated pathways while holographic navigation arrows floated beside them.

Some wore sleek cybernetic visors over their eyes, while others carried transparent digital screens hovering beside their wrists. Their expressions remained calm and relaxed, as though this overwhelming, futuristic world had long become ordinary to them.

"Hello, my lovely viewers! We’re finally going live from the tournament district today!"

A sexy girl with big breasts and a curvy ass spoke excitedly while lifting her hand toward her face.

A glowing hologram instantly projected from the silver ring around her finger, displaying a live stream filled with floating reactions, comments, and donation icons.

Transparent neon windows surrounded her holographic screen while glowing words like ’LIKE’ ’SHARE’, and ’COMMENT’ rotated around her image.

"And guess what?" she continued with a playful grin. "The analysts are already saying Alpha might secure a place in the semi-finals today. Fu~ I swear, if she actually wins after failing in the mission, this entire arena’s going to explode!"

Thousands of ’🙂‍↕️’ symbols burst across the hologram instantly while viewer counts climbed rapidly beside her face. The girl’s expression brightened the moment she noticed the increasing reactions.

"Seriously... thank you so much, guys."

Her voice softened slightly as she placed a hand over her chest while walking through the crowded street.

"If it wasn’t for all your support, there’s no way I could’ve afforded a premium arena seat. Those tickets cost an actual fortune this season... but thanks to you, your donations, and your constant support..."

She leaned slightly closer toward the holographic camera, her tight clothes pressing deeper around her cleavage, giving a small glimpse of the truth, while her teasing smile widened.

"Today... we’re going to enjoy this together~"

The hologram instantly erupted with flashing hearts, donation alerts, and rapidly rising engagement arrows.

’💗🤌💦’

Even the AI assistant attached to her stream began displaying animated fireworks around her profile automatically due to the sudden traffic spike.

"Heh... chat’s getting naughty again."

She laughed quietly while scrolling through floating comments with a flick of her finger.

Suddenly, her shoulder bumped into a passing woman moving through the pedestrian lane.

"S-Sorry, Madam!" the streamer said quickly while stepping back.

The woman glanced at her with an annoyed expression before snorting lightly. Her augmented lenses scanned the streamer for half a second before she turned away and continued walking.

"Tsk... whatever."

The girl rolled her eyes before immediately returning to her cheerful expression for the live audience.

"See? This is why streaming outside is dangerous, guys. One second you’re vibing, next second somebody’s ready to uninstall your existence."

Her viewers exploded with laughing reactions again.

"Look, Daddy! They’re fighting again! Please take me there this time!"

A child shouted excitedly while pointing toward a gigantic holographic display attached to the side of a towering building.

The massive 3D advertisement stretched across several floors, bright enough to reflect across nearby windows. People walking nearby instinctively slowed down for a moment as the advertisement shifted into battle footage from the tournament arena.

The child’s wide eyes reflected the enormous stadium shown above them. Tens of thousands of spectators screamed from glowing seats while energy barriers surrounded the battlefield inside the arena.

The massive gates slowly opened with mechanical force, releasing clouds of steam and digital smoke effects.

Then the monster emerged.

A creature stepped forward on four enormous limbs, its twisted face covered with rainbow crystal that pulsed with violent energy. Crooked teeth extended from its mouth while broken pieces of torn fabric still hung loosely from its chest. Its body alone looked almost the size of a transport vehicle.

"GGGRRWWWWW!!!"

The creature’s roar exploded through the hologram with surround-sound projection technology, making nearby pedestrians instinctively flinch as the sound vibrated through the street itself. Some people laughed afterward while others shook their heads in amusement at the overly realistic effects.

"MOMMY!!!"

The child instantly screamed and buried himself against his mother while covering his eyes tightly.

"Hahaha..."

His father laughed while gently rubbing the child’s head.

"You got scared from just the trailer, and you still want me to buy tickets for the real match?"

"T-That thing looked real!" the child protested nervously from behind his mother.

Both parents chuckled warmly while the giant holographic monster continued roaring across the glowing city skyline behind them.

Everything around them moved with life and excitement as people enjoyed their day without the slightest trace of worry on their faces.

Bright holograms danced across the towering buildings while music from advertisements echoed softly through the clean streets.

Couples laughed together near digital cafés, streamers continued broadcasting toward floating cameras, and glowing drones passed overhead carrying deliveries from one sector to another.

It felt as though nobody cared about anything beyond this.

As if... they knew nothing about what was happening within the other Empires.

As if... they were living inside a world created only for themselves, separated from every danger beyond their borders.

Casual pedestrians walked through illuminated pathways while businessmen wearing sleek black suits hurried past each other with holographic screens floating beside their wrists.

Stern-looking women in professional attire discussed something seriously while streams of data flickered across transparent panels before their eyes.

Children ran around laughing near public projection fountains while exhausted parents chased after them through the crowded sidewalks.

Nothing else existed there except humanity and the civilisation they had built.

Just then...

Weee~Weeee~Weee~Weee~

A sharp alarm suddenly echoed across the streets.

The lively atmosphere instantly shifted as people turned their heads toward the main road. Within seconds, rows of enormous black transport trucks appeared from the distance, their metallic bodies glowing with pulsating blue energy lines.

Unlike ordinary vehicles, the trucks possessed no visible tyres. They floated several inches above the magnetic roads while anti-gravity stabilisers beneath them emitted faint blue particles.

Before anyone could properly process what they were seeing, the convoy shot forward at terrifying speed.

Nearby vehicles reacted immediately. Autonomous cars automatically moved aside while traffic systems suspended every route around the convoy.

Floating road signs changed instantly, giving absolute priority to the black trucks.

The convoy turned sharply to the left.

Yet despite the sudden movement, the trucks remained perfectly stable, gliding through the city like black steel phantoms while blue energy flickered across their surfaces.

They passed countless skyscrapers, neon holograms, and glowing intersections within seconds.

Inside the last transport truck, forty-nine people sat silently on the metallic floor with cuffs restraining their wrists.

Each of them wore nothing more than rough, oversized cloth draped over their bodies.

Some lowered their heads silently, while others stared blankly at the floor with trembling expressions. The warm white light above barely illuminated their faces while the rest of the truck remained completely sealed behind thick armoured walls.

Even the air felt trapped inside... Escaping from this place seemed impossible.

Among them sat a man wearing a rabbit mask.

Quietly.

He leaned against the wall while staring toward the dim light above him without saying a single word.

After exiting that facility earlier, all the slaves had immediately been transferred into separate transport vehicles. Each truck carried exactly fifty prisoners before departing toward unknown destinations.

None of them knew where they were being taken.

What disturbed Lackey the most was not the silence.

It was the movement.

Or rather... the complete lack of it.

Even though the trucks travelled at incredible speed through the city, he could not feel the slightest vibration from acceleration or turning.

No inertia pulled against his body.

No shaking disturbed the metallic floor beneath him.

It felt less like travelling inside a vehicle and more like sitting inside an unmoving stone chamber disconnected from the laws of physics themselves, which once presented here.

Lackey remained silent and followed the procedures without resistance.

Most importantly...

’I can sense energies now.’

His thoughts remained calm as he slowly looked around the truck. The moment he had stepped out of the inspection room earlier, he immediately sensed the surrounding energies.

However, despite sensing them clearly, those energies never actually reached his body.

His gaze slowly lowered toward the circular golden crystal attached to his cuffs.

He could guess more or less... The crystal was generating a miniature energy barrier around him... a second layer of skin. It blocked external energy particles from entering his body completely.

As if these people clearly understood that People from other Empires would die the moment conflicting energies entered their systems.

So they created restraining crystals specifically designed to isolate them safely.

’*Humans are really something else...*’

Lackey felt genuinely impressed.

Even creating a simple energy barrier required materials, a definite structure, an energy source, and precise control. Yet these humans had condensed such complicated mechanisms into a single manufactured crystal small enough to fit inside a restraint cuff.

Technology and energy engineering in this Empire had already reached an absurd level.

Slowly, Lackey closed his eyes and attempted to establish contact with his beloveds. He expected at least a faint response or connection from them.

But the result instantly darkened his expression.

No!

He could still faintly sense the existence of the connection itself... but the moment he tried reaching toward it, the link abruptly faded away as though an invisible external force was severing the signal before it could stabilise.

’Either the distance is so great that the connection cannot reach them... or Arcane is interfering with me.’

Lackey thought with a serious expression.

Very soon...

Thud!

The thick metallic doors of the transport truck split apart with a mechanical hiss. Cold white light immediately poured inside the dark chamber.

Standing outside was a black mech-suit covered with glowing golden strips running across its armoured body.

*Come out.*

One by one, the slaves stepped outside cautiously. Energy cuffs clinked softly while their bare feet touched the metallic floor beneath them.

Lackey finally stepped out last, and the massive truck behind him instantly sealed itself shut with a heavy mechanical lock.

The moment he raised his head, his eyes quietly observed the surroundings.

Again... he had no idea where he was.

The place resembled the basement of some gigantic facility. Towering metallic pillars extended upward toward a ceiling hidden beneath layers of machinery and suspended rails.

Thick cables pulsed with streams of blue energy while holographic advertisements flickered across the walls.

Soon, all two hundred and forty-nine slaves were guided toward a massive staircase leading deeper into the facility.

Lackey then saw... dozens of mech-suit figures standing near the staircase entrance.

Most possessed golden strips while others glowed with red, purple, blue, and even pink energy lines across their armour.

Their designs slightly differed from one another as if representing different divisions or factions.

Everyone silently observed the slaves while scanning systems flickered behind their visors. Some nodded toward specific slaves before walking away without saying anything.

Lackey calmly noticed every movement.

Their legs trembled as they stepped onto the stairs and kept walking quietly.

Eventually, the group arrived at another enormous platform chamber. Bright lights illuminated the entire area from above while transparent digital screens floated around the walls, displaying unknown symbols and numbers.

The slaves stood there with confused and uneasy expressions.

They had been constantly moved from one place to another without explanation, and now they found themselves trapped inside another sealed platform surrounded by armoured guards and scanning drones.

The mech-suit with gold strips stepped forward first.

Its glowing visor swept across the crowd before the mechanical voice echoed throughout the chamber.

*You are all confused by your current situation... But do not fear. This is your opportunity to obtain freedom.*

Instantly, countless heads lifted upward.

Freedom.

That single word alone caused dead expressions to flicker with life again. Some slaves clenched their fists while others stared at the guard with trembling eyes filled with desperate hope.

They desired freedom more than anything else in this world.

Sensing everyone’s complete attention, another mech-suit stepped forward.

This one possessed glowing red strips flowing across its bulged armour like burning veins.

*You will now be auctioned.*

The atmosphere instantly froze.

The hope that had barely begun forming inside their hearts shattered almost immediately. Faces darkened.

Several slaves looked utterly hollow again, as though reality had crushed them before they could even dream.

*But do not misunderstand,* the red-striped mech-suit continued calmly. *As long as you prove your worth... whatever talent you possess... your life can completely change.*

The mech-suit slowly spread its arms toward the surrounding guards.

*You could become someone like us.*

The prisoners stared at each other uncertainly. Confusion and suspicion filled their expressions.

Finally, one of them hesitantly stepped forward.

*Worth...? What do you mean by that?*

The red-striped mech-suit answered immediately.

*Anything.*

Its glowing visor brightened slightly.

*Stealing. Assassination. Combat. Espionage. Shapeshifting abilities. Intelligence gathering. Endurance. Energy compatibility. Anything at all.*

The mechanical voice echoed sharply throughout the chamber.

*As long as you prove your value to the buyers, you may enter their faction and become one of their members. They can change your life completely.*

The mech-suit slightly leaned forward.

*And if you do not believe me...*

Crank... Hissss...

The mech-suit’s visor suddenly flickered as pressurised steam escaped from the helmet. A second later, the armoured figure removed its helmet completely.

The moment the face underneath became visible, the prisoners’ eyes widened in shock.

Fluffy wolf ears rested above the man’s silver hair while sharp golden eyes stared toward the crowd with a confident smirk. Faint scars stretched across his jawline, giving him a rough yet powerful appearance.

’*A Wolf Tribe member... ah.*’

Lackey silently observed him without reacting much.

*I-I know you!* one of the slaves suddenly shouted in disbelief. *You were taken last month, weren’t you?!*

The wolf man grinned proudly, his sharp fangs slightly visible beneath the white lights above.

*Of course I am.*

His voice carried arrogance and excitement as he spread his arms slightly toward the crowd.

*I was exactly like all of you once. Chained, Powerless and Afraid.*

He slowly stepped forward, his metallic boots echoing against the steel floor.

*But after arriving here...*

A wicked smile spread across his face.

*This Empire changed my life.*

The wolf man’s golden eyes gleamed brightly as holographic lights reflected across his pupils.

*These people accepted me for who I truly am. They gave me food, status, power...*

His grin widened further.

*And most importantly...*

He slowly licked his lips while staring toward the women standing among the slaves with predatory eyes.

*Freedom to do whatever I’ve wanted all this time~*

Several women instantly shuddered, and excitement flickered in their eyes. Some stepped backwards instinctively while tightly gripping the cloth covering their bodies.

The wolf man chuckled softly at their reactions before turning back toward the rest of the slaves.

*So long as you prove your worth, worthy people will choose you.*

He pointed upward dramatically.

*And if luck favours you...*

His voice deepened slightly.

*Who knows? You may even return to your Empire one day.*

The slaves’ eyes widened immediately.

The wolf man’s grin twisted into something darker.

*Not as slaves... But as...*

His mechanical gauntlet slowly clenched into a fist.

*Executioners~*

Instantly, shocked expressions spread across the crowd.

Then slowly...

Grins began appearing.

Crooked.

Wicked.

Disturbingly excited!

Some slaves lowered their heads while laughing quietly to themselves. Others clenched their fists with trembling excitement as though the idea itself had awakened something buried deep inside them.

Lackey silently observed the entire scene.

His rabbit mask concealed his expression completely, yet beneath it, his ice-blue eyes slowly darkened with a blackness deeper than the void itself.

So not only were Terra’s people invading and destroying civilisations...

Even their own people were willingly joining hands with Terra and turning against their own kind.

What a completely rotten world.

*NOW THEN!*

The wolf man suddenly roared,

*Will you all join me and execute those who abandoned us?!*

For a brief second, silence remained.

Then instantly...

The once fearful and lifeless slaves exploded with emotion.

*WE WILL!!!*

Their furious roar shook throughout the platform chamber while the metallic walls echoed violently with their voices.

Fear had completely vanished from many of their faces, replaced instead by desperation, hatred, greed, and excitement for power.

The wolf man laughed loudly in satisfaction.

*Good!*

Crank... Hissss...

He placed the helmet back onto his head as the visor sealed shut once more.

"Let’s begin the Auction!!"

The doors before the platform slowly began opening.

The slaves stared toward the opening doors with widened eyes.

To them...

It looked like the gates toward a brighter future.
