Chapter 3043: 3043. Wanting Planes

As they approached the clashing elemental planes and clearly drifting miniature elemental planes, The group took a more defensive arrangement. Su also prepared two of her stronger twin shields that had higher resistances for all manas rather than specific manas.

This was not because they were unprepared or not taking things seriously before. This was simply because they understood that they were genuinely approaching a dangerous and changing area.

Their gut senses told them that there were not any dangerous monsters that could eradicate them if they desired around. This was just their innate senses which were strengthened through years of being adventurers now. But it was also their generally strengthened senses that came with being stronger and well trained.

Besides this, Midnight and Onyx were sniffing the mana around noticing the changes and flow of everything.

Walker felt the distant clashing of manas and kept himself at the ready to deflect and potent chaotic mana waves from colliding with them. Despite their resistances, he had the best magical abilities to deflect dangerous manas from hitting them with their full force.

It was better to be prepared to resist them than to allow their bodies to be tested and potentially injured in a dangerous area. Training was good, but not at the risk of actually dying. They all understood that despite making small mistakes in the past with exactly that risk appearing.

"They are so small, how would they even grow to be what we have seen before?" Remey was looking at a few small fire elemental planes the size of marbles. Walker hadn’t expected that they would be this small, but then pointed ahead as he understood the situation.

"Because, they aren’t actually elemental planes yet. They are called wanting planes. Those seven are wanting fire elemental planes. They are starting to form because of space mana and life mana, but they are weak and can’t take a single form because their fire manas are different. They need to collide, break, dissolve, grow, and eventually form a starting fire elemental plane that will become what we have seen before."

The party listened as they also watched Walker use the eternal codes to split in to strands of mana thread like fibers. It was like watching him make fishing lines almost. Instead though, they caught these wanting fire elemental planes and forced them to collide.

The scene of them trying to break or clash with one another as the different versions of fire mana encountered one another was strange yet also amazing. Like watching two waves in the ocean crash to form larger waves before it reached shore.

"I can use the fire mana I have stored in my body to give it a calmer form, but it is still smaller and weaker. But now the change in space mana as a foundation after interacting with me and the addition of a calm fire mana makes all the fire mana fall in line."

"It is still a wanting fire plane, but it is starting to grow and when it collides with other smaller more chaotic fire planes, it might take over and become something in years to come." He released the newly formed head sized wanting fire plane and they saw other smaller wanting fire planes also attracting to it naturally.

Walker had calmly explained how he had changed the form of something and how it would eventually become something greater if it was lucky or if it did not clash with another opposing mana.

Su reacted in a sudden twist blocking a small dark figure.

’Darting shadow fish

This is a strange monster known for leaping dark elemental plane to dark elemental plane. It can survive outside of the elemental planes for up to a week while searching for another to lay eggs in before leaving to hunt again.

They are violent in nature and will use the sharp horns on its face to attack other monsters even if they are larger than it. This also is a way for it to deter other monsters from its...’

"They are solitary but they are annoying." Gil smirked listening to the appraisal and shooting a single arrow of light mana he pulled around him to kill the small monster. He was not surprised at all that Su had felt the change in mana and noticed the nearly hidden form of this monster to defend against it.

"I reacted faster than I would normally react. I would say that my shield hummed letting me know." She did not mean that her shield truly let her know. Instead it was the intent she was training. The added aspect of her will and manas formed in to one with the shield. She had sensed the attack sooner and reacted faster. Even though her mind did not actively do so.

The fact that this was the case just went to prove her growth but no one said a word. They let her think about the changes since this was also part of her growth.

"It’s not a monster being hunted or preying on anything. Just searching for a place to be. But I bet it has some good materials with those sharp horns. They look like black needles, maybe hollow too?" Remey was already pushing the little body of the monster toward Walker to store away for later.

"Watch this." Gil looked in the distance and fired an arrow. The reaction of several small orbs of light that had glowed with blue hues halted and then started to pop.

"I knew that was a monster’s skill. It was attracting light monsters to it using dark and light mana. But now it’s running away. We can see those earth and wind elemental planes forming now."

He had been watching and noticed the sudden disappearance of elemental planes he had been able to see before. Only something blocking them would do that. The monster fleeing had camouflaged itself but was weaker so the arrow fire terrified it causing it to run away immediately.

"That was a light shadow trap octopus. It loves places like this where it can catch a lot of small prey before hiding in various elemental planes waiting for another event like this to emerge from slumber." Walker appraised it but didn’t see the point of sharing all the information.

"I am glad you scared it away. Midnight smells something good." Onyx curled around Midnight’s body and they set out toward a larger earth elemental plane the size of a house. Various wanting earth planes were being absorbed by it and even a couple wanting wind planes had been pulled in.

The dual nature of the earth elemental plane was still forming but the reason that Midnight had noticed something was that there were pieces of fruit growing out of a flat plant covering the ground.

’Spike rock fruit patch

This is a unique plant that grows itself on tougher rock and mimics the form of the terrain. It has a crystal like body that causes the fruits to be sharp. However, they trap small wind and earth elemental crystals making their fruit extremely nutritious to dual earth and wind elemental spirit or similar elemental races and monsters.

Growing these fruits is nearly impossible unless someone has an affinity for spiritual mana forms...’

"This is good!" Midnight was already digging around the patch of fruit so Walker could store it and bring it back.. She had smelled the oddity in mana and knew it was food but not food she would or should eat. Her senses had tracked it down and understood a value to it for others.

"Great catch. I would have missed that because I wasn’t focused on nearby." The praise from Gil earned him an approving hum of a growl from Midnight who carefully removed the earth ground from the still forming wind and earth elemental plane.

They could see plenty of other small patches that would soon take over the now empty space. It would eventually keep growing but they had reaped some benefits before it had grown too large or monsters had inhabited the plane.

A boom of mana as two larger forming planes crashed in to one another and one started to be forcefully dissipated caused Walker and Su to shield everyone. But they also caught a glimpse of a larger figure moving through picking up materials. It appeared like a spider, but it had at least a hundred long and thin legs with pincers on the end.

’Chaos collector spider

This monster is peaceful as long as it is not attacked or stolen from. If it is bothered, it is known to cause horrendous damage to nearby elemental planes by releasing gathered chaotic manas from within the various silk sacs on its back. It is also known to protect unique materials it finds in an almost greedy fervor.

They are an oddity amongst the chaotic monsters. They do not grow from directly consuming manas or other monsters. They feed on the manas that come from the clashing items they collect. This causes them to also be called a walking danger since when they inevitably perish after living for a hundred years the manas released are chaotic and also known to form extremely strange elemental planes of mixed manas...’
