Chapter 3044. Remnant pieces
Chapter 3044: 3044. Remnant pieces
’How the chaos collector spider breeds is still unknown. Even the most powerful chaos breeders, monster tamers, and students of monster biology fail to understand how. This is the same for the environment that they originate from, it is believed they are an ancient species of monster older than the majority of races known by the origin race.
The chaos collector spider is sometimes known to leave behind worse materials than those they already possess, if this is the case it could be considered a one in a million event. Many monsters and beings may chase after that material since it may still be incredibly valuable.
Often, some stronger beings follow the chaos collector spider despite the risk of annoying it or interrupting it. Although, they are more than often preyed upon by monsters along the way...’
Walker read in to more of the details as they watched the light mana fade after yet another larger elemental plane clashed and dispersed.
The thousands of legs from the massive spider had easily been seen. They were long enough to reach to the party and beyond them if they even tried to run. More so, they also saw the thousands of sacs along its back radiating potent and chaotic manas. Some even gave the party the feeling that they were looking at the equivalent of death if it was even unwrapped slightly.
A powerful being like this monster here had started to pass by them and they had not even noticed. It was somehow stealthy and beyond what they could possibly handle. But it also gave them no mind despite its eyes clearly being directed at them for an instant.
Whatever it saw was not interesting enough to collect since they might have been too weak. In the future, they would have to ensure they never crossed one and became part of its collection.
Something many may fear happening.
"I want nothing to do with that thing." As Remey spoke, everyone agreed. No questions asked. Just flat out agreement that whatever was around the spider was its and they had no plans to even move a step.
But the rest of everything it was not touching? They might be lucky.
There weren’t any other beings or monsters around right this second. As the massive chaos collector spider moved out of their sight in just a couple of steps, they could tell that the area was calming slightly.
It had clearly gathered materials causing damage to one another and its presence had an effect on the chaotic mana as it literally consumed it. Meaning that they had an opportunity to harvest as much as they could before scavengers may arrive.
They could handle some monsters that might come behind it in time, but what of intelligent beings that might come? They did not want to deal with them as well. It would be a risk not worth taking.
Plus, this chaotic area of newly formed and newly destroyed elemental planes and wanting planes was not the only place they could explore or gain knowledge.
The seemingly infinite space of the outer planes could present more opportunities.
"So all those rocks there are good, right?" Walker started appraising everything that Su and Gil pointed out. Before long, Remey, Midnight, and Onyx were doing the same as everything they saw that might have some value was collected.
The thing about some of these larger still forming elemental planes, was that they had partially made some unique materials that were broken and halted in development.
The iron ore that could be common was unfinished in a way. It lacked the right amount of earth manas to stabilize. So it was not iron ore but iron rust crystal ore, something degrading already but unique and educational.
Blacksmiths and forgemasters could learn the structure of iron ore as it began to form, potentially giving them better methods to align and form metal ingots in the future. Miners could learn better how iron ore formed and how to find or even spur the growth of more within the earth. It could be incredibly valuable since this gave an in-depth look in to such things.
One thing they found was called wind swept stones.
They were literal stones formed from shattered wind mana crystals. However, the wind mana had returned in chaos to shape and change their form in to rounded stones of sharper violent wind mana. It was like a contained storm of wind within them that could cause damage just holding them. But instead of being a gem or a crystal, the shape looked like a stone and it could be refined for a storm mage’s staff, or maybe even fed on by a dragon with the right dangerous wind affinity.
Some materials were not safe to study or even look at.
Walker had protected a small bubble of light and water crystals that moved like waves called a light pulsing orb.
It was a gathering of impossible to see tiny water and light mana crystals forced together and constantly moving due to the water mana. But that broke the light crystals causing manas to clash and flashes of light that could easily blind others.
Stabilizing it was something that could take a lot of mana and time. It also needed more attention since it was a material that demanded care and intense learning to even be able to be around. The manas would damage other things around it and needed to be held carefully by those with greater power and the dual affinities for water and light elemental manas.
Walker was sure that somewhere out there an entire sea of this could exist and it would be a place inhospitable to even him right now.
"This is definitely a sword."
Gil wasn’t touching it. He didn’t want to risk touching a strange unknown weapon found in a place literally full of chaotic mana.
A pretty smart move.
"How is a sword here? Wouldn’t there be nothing like this around because, no people?" It was hard to grasp how it got here, Remey was even considering the spider to have left it behind.
"There is more out here than we know. We’ve all heard Walker mumbling about his ideas. He mentioned there might be other elemental planes like ours out there. Maybe even worlds too. If the deeper outside elemental planes are chaos then maybe there is an infinite maybe too."
Su spoke a little too much like a wise hermit. But everyone agreed. Onyx and Midnight nodding along with her but gave her even more support to make this feel exactly correct.
’Star sword- horribly damaged
This is an irreparable weapon barely even able to be held for observation in a museum or collection. It was damaged by many years in chaotic manas degrading any evidence or rune formations, high crafting quality, and even what materials it was once made from.
It was crafted by a race known as star chasers.
They believed in light mana from the stars. Other elemental planes. And celestial bodies unknown to even the greatest beings.
This brought their race out in to the chaos and their weapons as well. Those that returned brought valuable materials and knowledge.
It’s unknown if their race still exists or not.’
They stood in silence for a few moments.
"Well, it is a sword and it’s useless unless we count knowing there’s a race crazy enough to chase literal stars." Gil wasn’t holding back, he’d made it sound simple and small so it was easier to keep up with.
"I knew other beings or races were out here but if they went in to that deeper unknown they are pretty strong. I wouldn’t doubt they exist. Sounds like a race that wants to explore more than anything." The romance of it struck Walker and the others.
"They could travel anywhere though, so the sword was lost and drifted here like anything could. We just get to know about another race now." In the end, Onyx was already prepared to move on from this.
Powerful races or monsters beyond their strength and beyond them right now were not what they had to focus on.
They needed to grow and so did the world. From that, they could progress and worry about what was out there. It was all just about when in this matter.
"We can gather more here but there are more manas running back. It will become dangerous sooner than later." Walker saw several drifting elemental planes in the distance. Some more developed and more dangerous when they began to collide.
It was better that they moved on now before those and whatever scavengers arrived.
"As long as we can keep exploring a bit. I want to see more of these wanting planes. They are very interesting and I think they help my perception of each mana and stances they take." Walker nodded, Gil had his own goals too and he could help with those.
