Chapter 1313: Rashmore
Chapter 1313: Rashmore
Anthony spread his Sense Dome as he decided to investigate this weird place. As the Sense Dome unfurled and spread out, all Anthony could find at the moment was greenery and the likes. He knew it wasn’t possible for his Sense Dome to cover the entire region; after all, each region always seemed to expand infinitely.
Through the Sense Dome, Anthony’s eyes landed on two people fighting against one person. His eyes immediately narrowed as he recognized the person. It was one of the Above Disciples, Jerry.
He wasn’t exactly fighting two people. He was fighting one person while the other person simply observed, as though they couldn’t be bothered. Jerry wasn’t in good condition, his body was covered in injuries, his purple Above Disciple robe was covered in blood, which constantly vanished under the cleaning Rune function etched into the robe.
Jerry panted as he held his spear, his Law of Spear and Law of Motion humming around him. His skin was pale, his Origin Essence already running low within his Dantian. He was literally on his last leg, but he didn’t give up. Still, he knew deep down that there was no hope. The man standing in front of him was simply of a different caliber.
Jerry had even eaten the power-boosting pills they had been given and drank his healing elixir, but none of them did anything, as even with his boosted power, he was still suppressed, and his injuries that had healed were simply brought back through another series of attacks.
He had wanted to follow the golden thread and escape towards one of his fellow Above Disciples, but he knew that even if someone like Lora Vake or Tory Hale met this man before him, they would still lose. After all, he knew Tory and Lora’s strength very well; they were his rivals.
The man who was fighting Jerry was wearing a white robe. He didn’t even draw the saber hanging on his waist as he had handled Jerry with nothing but his bare hands. The man didn’t speak; he simply walked forward with calm steps, unbothered whether Jerry ran or not.
He didn’t give the cliché line where people would say things like, "Give up your treasure and I will spare your life." He was above such things.
As he was a few meters away from Jerry, he closed the distance in a blur as he moved to kill Jerry where he stood. As his fingers moved to tear through Jerry’s chest, a figure suddenly appeared between the two of them, a hand clamping down on his fingers, halting the attack in place.
It was Anthony.
Jerry was stunned seeing Anthony’s sudden appearance. He couldn’t help but heave a sigh of relief as he had been saved, his body blurring backwards as he put some distance between himself and the unknown man.
Even with his Law of Motion, the man before him had been faster than him, and that was just the man’s base speed, without using any Laws or Origin Essence.
"Another one, huh?" The man spoke, not moving his hand as he simply remained where he was. He didn’t need to ask to know Anthony and Jerry were from the same Sect, given that they wore the same robe.
"I didn’t know that Ancient Organizations were into bullying the weak," Anthony stated with a smile as he gazed into his opponent’s eyes.
He recognized the man. He was from the Dreaming Nightmare Organization, as Anthony had taken note of everyone from these Behemoth Organizations.
"Human, I don’t like wasting time," the man stated calmly, his eyes filled with the pure boredom of someone who hadn’t met his equal in a while.
Anthony smirked as he replied, "And what are you going to do about it, Tengu?" His tone taunting.
The man before him was from the Tengu race, a bird-like martial race famed for their swordsmanship, discipline, and wind manipulation.
The man, by the name of Rashmore, simply stopped speaking. He wasn’t one to talk too much. His left foot left the ground with blinding speed as he drove his knee towards Anthony’s chest. Seeing the incoming attack, Anthony didn’t bother defending; he simply unleashed an attack of his own as though trading an injury to land an attack.
His right palm shot out in a blur, streaking towards Rashmore’s chest. Rashmore, seeing Anthony ignore defense and focus on attacking, decided to do the same thing, not withdrawing his own attack.
And with a devastating impact, both attacks landed at the same time, Rashmore’s knee meeting Anthony’s chest and Anthony’s palm meeting Rashmore’s chest. Shockwaves erupted from both attacks, and the next moment, Rashmore’s body shot backwards like a bullet. His body covered a fifty-meter distance before he twisted and caught himself, landing on the ground with a deft touch.
In contrast, Anthony didn’t take a single step back. He hadn’t bothered to block Rashmore’s knee attack simply because it couldn’t faze him.
Rashmore’s eyes, which had seemed to be filled with boredom, seemed to finally awaken for a moment. The other disciple, who was also from the Dreaming Nightmare Organization, arched an eyebrow as though she couldn’t believe what she had just seen.
"Finally going to take this seriously?" Anthony asked with the same smug smile, his hands clasped behind his back.
Rashmore didn’t speak. He simply vanished from his position, his speed peaking as he closed the distance in less than an instant. His body flickered into position as he unleashed a fist attack towards Anthony’s ribs, but again, Anthony didn’t bother defending. His hand simply blurred as he unleashed a slap across Rashmore’s face.
The sound was crisp, Rashmore’s head snapping to the side as his body shot sideways, tearing through a tree before he caught himself again.
Rashmore touched his lips. Blue blood flowed from his busted lips. He simply couldn’t believe that a random Sect was handling him this easily. If word got out, his reputation would be tarnished. His eyes shifted from the blood on his finger towards Anthony, who simply stared at him with a smile.
At the side, Jerry could only watch with a stunned expression as Anthony casually handled an opponent who had pushed him to this extent without even trying.
Rashmore finally drew his sword, his Law of Wind humming around him. It was already at the Manifestation Stage, which spoke immensely of his talent. His Law of Sword was also at the same stage.
The second disciple finally stepped down from the tree, her indifferent expression finally showing interest. But before she could draw her weapon, Rashmore spoke.
"Don’t interfere, Priscilla. I can handle him on my own," Rashmore stated as he walked forward.
Priscilla stayed silent for a moment, then sighed and nodded. She leaped backwards and landed on the tree she had just left. Unlike Rashmore, who was a Tengu, she was a Human.
"Aren’t you going to draw your katana?" Rashmore spoke as he walked.
Anthony stayed silent for a moment before he replied, "Your first two attacks earlier showed me you aren’t worth it." He shook his head as he spoke, his tone calm, indifferent, neither arrogant nor humble.
