Chapter 4517: Into the Lake

Chapter 4517: Into the Lake

"So, it will do it on its own, after it reaches the range?" I asked to be sure. "Yes," she replied.

"How do you know this is the part that will work?" I asked, and she smiled. "We do not, but we had expected the problem to arise from here, from studying the sample of the leak."

"We have already completed the details of this place. Including the schematics of things below and knowing how it works."

"So our people just forged the parts, which might have a problem." She relied, and I have to say, it’s pretty smart.

"How many parts has your organization forged?" I asked. "Hundred and seventeen," she replied, and looked quite proud.

She should be; I could see the complexity of the piece. It is not easy to forge, not to mention the numbers and resources they would have needed to forge it.

A moment later, her expression deflated with defeat. "It is all for nothing," she said, looking at the lake filled with pure corruption.

"What is the range? It needs to be attracted by the main circuit." I asked, and her eyes widened in realization.

"You can’t be thinking that, Prime Arys. It’s too dangerous. I will not ask you to do this," she said, shaking her head while I smiled.

"Distance, Prime Dynvar?" I asked. "I don’t know, the took didn’t specify it," she replied with a sigh.

"Can I get a look at it?" I asked. She nodded and handed me the tool. I looked at the data and the triangular device; a few minutes later, I finished.

I could tell a few things.

I will have to go into the lake, but not deep, but even without. It would be extremely dangerous; even dipping my deep could turn me into corrupt goo if I am not careful.

"Go behind the hill; things might get very tricky," I said to her. "It’s too dangerous, Prime Arys, even for you," she replied.

"I know what I am doing, Prime Dynvar. I will survive," I said. She looked like she wanted to say something, but she just sighed.

"Good luck, Prime Arys," she wished, before walking toward the hill carefully.

I didn’t immediately walk toward the pool. I just waited by my spot for more than fifteen minutes before walking toward it.

Since I decided to go, I sent a string to the late to get a date, which I used to make the changes to my armor.

Now, the changes are ready, but it will still be extremely dangerous. I shouldn’t do this, but I am doing it and not only for Dynvar.

If I succeed, I will get something for myself as well, or I will die.

I don’t know which thing will happen, but I will be as careful as possible, but walking into the lake itself is the limit of carelessness.

Some might even say foolish.

Dynvar has some confidence due to the persona of a suppressed, powerful person I had developed, but I am Sky Sovereign, and I am going over my head here.

Still, that didn’t stop my steps.

I understand all the risks clearly, but I am still doing it. A part of it because I don’t want this realm to collapse and bring massive damage.

It will affect flora, fauna, and hundreds of millions of people; many will die.

Finally, I reached the late and tipped my toe inside ever so gently. As I felt its power, it was massive, capable of swallowing everything.

If I hadn’t made the changes I did to my armor. This corruption would have attacked me like a snake and wouldn’t have let go until I became a part of it.

My feet didn’t move for nearly a minute before they went inside, before touching the ground.

A moment later, I brought my other foot inside and then took a step forward. Each step takes me deeper and deeper inside until I am fully submerged in the corruption.

I stopped there, feeling the sheer power of it. So massive that it would kill me in seconds. If it found even the slightest crack to enter inside me.

There will not be even a single chance of survival.

I begin to swim forward, my swim didn’t even create a ripple in corruption, which is harder to do than it seemed, as it is not water.

It is pure corruption energy concentrated so much that it turned to liquid.

I went a little deeper and saw the scene inside, and was kind of shocked by it.

It isn’t just lotuses that are glowing, but also their roots. They are physical, and they create a domain of light. Pushing away the corruption.

In that domain, I saw monsters resting. Some swimming around before going inside.

Even monsters couldn’t survive in this corruption. So, they would enter inside and release the corruption that bodies had absorbed.

This corruption is different as it is mixed with vital energies of the monster that the roots absorb.

They have created a symbiotic relationship with the loti. It keeps them alive and cleanses them while they feed it and keep it alive.

There are hundreds of loti, and each one is occupied by the monsters.

As I had said, these lotuses are precious. They do a lot of things. Using one before the breakthrough makes one’s body and soul a perfect vessel of transformation.

They are the greatest reason why I stepped into the pool of corruption.

I want them, but seeing the monster and feeling their power. I decided not to go for them immediately; that would be a death wish.

Those monsters are extremely powerful. If I went for them foolishly, I would pay with my death.

Yes, they are precious, but not as precious as my life.

I turned my eyes away from them and looked at the data in front of me. ’I will have to go a little deeper,’ I thought, and went to swim deeper.

Immediately, the concentration of corruption began to increase rapidly, so I slowed down immediately.

’Not so fast,’ I thought.
