Chapter 4526: Distillation

Chapter 4526: Distillation

I opened the door of the pyramid building and entered inside with Prime Syvar and Dynvar beside me.

We walked silently into the alchemy lab before stopping in front of the cylinder.

"The fermentation had been finished and the solids had settled," said Prime Syvar. "Look, there is barely any law power in the solids; everything is liquid above," added Dynvar with surprise, and looked at me.

"It’s the yeast. It’s very good," I answered.

The yeast’s main job is to convert the sugar into alcohol through fermentation. It had done that along with transferring most of the law power to the alcohol.

It is for this that I had bred it, and I had done a very good job, better than I had thought.

There is barely 2% of law in it.

Still, the job is far from over; it’s now time for distillation. It’s the most important process here and also dangerous. Lightning law could become volatile and explode if not handled carefully.

"It’s time for distillation," I said, and adjusted the cylinder and connected it with another tool, which will collect the vapours of alcohol and store them.

I looked at the settings and adjusted them before blue fire came out of my hands and covered the cylinder.

At the same time, my energy entered the dark red fermented substance.

It didn’t take long before it reached near the vapour state, and I began my process.

"The head is too hard; it would not take one to state that one requires to gain the comprehension of the law. It will instead act like a poison," I stated.

Like the mortal wine, the head is useless. It is the heart we want; it is what takes one to a drunken comprehension state that helps one comprehend the law.

So, I moved my energy, pushing the law down in the heart, while it evaporates.

It took a little over a minute before evaporation continued.

"Here control is key; I should only the head evaporate from which law is stripped down," I explained. "It won’t be easy," said Prime Dynvar.

"It won’t be, but I have a technique. So, watch carefully," I replied.

A few seconds later, the evaporation began. It was faint, but one could feel its power and toxicity contained in it aside from faint law.

Even with my method, I couldn’t extract the complete laws, but I am doing far better than they had thought.

Their shocked eyes are proof of that.

The head of the mortal spirit is dangerous enough to cause blindness. This is even more dangerous for people; it could kill them.

I moved slowly, extracted the law from the head and put it into the heart, before letting it evaporate.

They watched it and even used their soul senses, but they didn’t disturb it in the slightest. Their soul senses remained out of the way, despite watching every step with microscopic clarity.

I let them while I focus on the process, which needs every bit of my concentration.

More and more steam came out and began to get stored in a bottle. I barely looked at it; my focus is on the vapour and on extracting the law from it.

Minutes passed and turned to our and I am still doing it.

I could feel everything, the power of energies, laws, and how everything could go wrong with the slightest mistake.

I am not only extracting the law from the head and pushing it into the heart, but also controlling the law in the process, so it wouldn’t go haywire and kill us all.

It has the power to do that, especially at this stage. Another hour passed, and finally, all the head evaporated.

"Now, it’s for the heart," said Prime Syvar, and I could feel the excitement from her. This is real meat, from which spirit will be made.

I had pushed the law from the head into it, but now I have to do the same with the tail and dregs into it.

Which will be even harder than earlier.

The heart begins to evaporate, as it does. I pushed the laws from the tail and dregs into it. It is a slow process; every minute, a drop worth of steam would come out.

It is slower than earlier, because I want to push as much law into it as possible.

The more the law is, the greater the benefit one will receive after drinking it. Considering the preciousness of resources we used, I need to push every speck of law in it as much as possible.

Though I have to be very cautious while doing it, a single mistake could mess up things.

Soon, over three hours passed, and I had finished with the heart. It took me barely a minute to separate the tail, as they had only 1% of law, which I could easily control even if it went haywire.

With that done, I looked at four containers—each holding head, heart, tail, and dregs.

"You were able to take 99% of the law into the heart. Even Silver Primes would be shocked by it," said Prime Syvar with a voice filled with awe.

I cheated a little here. It isn’t just the control and technique that let me do it, but also yeast.

Its did something that made the fermented product respond positively to my energies. If they were to do it, they won’t get more than 95%.

Even that is impressive.

"The head and tail could be used as poison or tonic for monsters, while dregs would be very good fertiliser," I said to Syvar as I handed it to her.

They might be byproducts, but given the resources they are made of, they are very powerful.

"This we will store to age," I said to heart and transferred it into the cask made of lightning wood. The wood, I found in the curtain.

It’s very suitable for aging this spirit.

"How long do you think it will take to age?" asked Prime. "Around six to nine months. It might even take some more," I replied.

"I hope its soon," said Dynvar while I smiled.
