Chapter 305: Ancestor
Chapter 305: Ancestor
"Richard, is there any way to stop him from going insane?" Laura asked.
Richard had expected that question.
Her history with Gray went back a long way.
Even though Gray had ultimately abandoned her, it seemed she still couldn’t completely let go of those feelings.
Richard glanced at Gray. Perhaps even Gray himself had no idea how to stop the madness.
Still, he clearly hated being called insane, believing that he was walking the right path.
"There is one way," Richard said.
"How?" Laura asked anxiously.
"Cut off his root."
The answer was brief.
Any adult could immediately understand what he meant.
Laura’s eyes widened, as did Master Alex’s and even Gray’s.
"Now the choice is yours. I’m leaving him to you. The only other solution is to kill him. Otherwise, he’ll continue bringing chaos wherever he goes," Richard said.
After saying that, he flew back onto the Skylight Clan’s flying ark.
"Little Brother, why did you leave that brat behind?" Olivia asked.
"That’s none of your business. Let’s go," Richard replied.
Olivia could only smile bitterly at his answer.
Whoosh!
The flying ark resumed its journey, heading farther east.
It wasn’t long before Richard saw the vast eastern coastline with its endless stretch of white sand.
The sun was rising over the sea as the shoreline came into view.
Just as he wondered where the Skylight Clan resided, a massive portal suddenly appeared before the flying ark.
The vessel entered it, and the scenery instantly transformed into an immense green land.
It was an endless grassland.
There were no forests or mountains, only several villages scattered close to one another.
The air was remarkably cool and refreshing, making Richard feel more alive than ever.
Whoosh!
A white crow appeared before the ark as it came to a stop.
It was none other than the White Ancestor.
"So, boy, you’ve finally arrived. How was your training? Have you grown stronger?" he asked.
"Of course I’ve grown stronger. But I want to become even stronger. Is there anything here that can help me?" Richard replied.
"There isn’t. But if you want to improve through battle, you can spar with your father," the White Ancestor answered.
"I don’t want to meet him," Richard said.
He felt no bond with that man. And if his father was truly insane now, he wanted to see him even less.
The White Ancestor simply shook his head.
"Follow me."
Richard had no idea where he was being led, but he followed anyway.
To his surprise, Olivia came along as well.
"Girl, why haven’t you prepared a residence for Richard? Even if he won’t stay here permanently, he should still have a home in the clan," the White Ancestor told her.
"Ancestor, I’ve already instructed the others to handle it," Olivia replied.
"I want you to do it yourself," Richard interjected.
"Little Brother..." Olivia froze.
"And don’t forget to cook. I want something to eat," Richard added.
She could only force a wry smile and puff out her cheeks before stepping aside as they entered the village.
"By the way, Ancestor, I heard my younger brother is here," Richard said.
"Yes. He’s currently training in seclusion. I informed him that you would be coming, but he said he wasn’t interested in meeting you. It seems your family really is a mess," the White Ancestor replied.
"He actually said that?" Richard was genuinely surprised.
"It appears he doesn’t like you."
Richard fell silent.
"I’ll have to teach him a lesson later," he muttered.
Needless to say, he was rather annoyed.
The White Ancestor seemed completely unconcerned with the affairs of their family.
"Where are we going?" Richard asked again, frowning.
They had already passed through the village.
He couldn’t help wondering if the white crow was messing with him.
"Didn’t you say you wanted to become stronger, boy?" the White Ancestor replied.
"I did. But you just told me there was nothing here."
"I lied. I only wanted you to fight your father."
Richard was speechless.
Shua!
Without warning, a gate emerged from beneath the ground directly in front of him.
He nearly crashed into it because he hadn’t sensed its appearance.
"Open it and go inside," the White Ancestor instructed.
"What’s in there?" Richard asked.
"You’ll find out soon enough..."
Richard frowned once more, but this was his clan’s territory. Surely they wouldn’t lead him into danger.
He pushed the gate open and was greeted by a blinding radiance that prevented him from seeing what lay beyond.
After a brief hesitation, he stepped inside.
It turned out to be a completely white chamber of light, like the heart of a sea of clouds.
He was immediately stunned by the sight before him.
A magnificent golden throne stood at the center, occupied by a beautiful blonde woman in a blue gown that perfectly accentuated her flawless figure.
Her beauty was so extraordinary that Richard felt she surpassed even Lilith.
It wasn’t that her facial features were superior, but rather that her aura was incomparably majestic, making people instinctively want to bow before her.
She seemed to exist alongside time itself.
Every breath she took felt as though it carried the weight of an entire era.
Richard instantly realized that, despite her youthful appearance, she was unimaginably ancient.
He had experienced the same sensation when facing the Golden Tree Ancient Sovereign.
That being had lived since ancient times.
Could this woman be the same?
Richard wondered who she was, because as far as he could tell, she wasn’t a member of the Skylight Clan.
With his current strength, he could sense bloodline similarities whenever he met someone from the clan face-to-face.
The woman’s expression remained indifferent as she slowly looked him up and down.
"Who are you?" Richard asked.
"Your first ancestor," she replied in a detached tone.
Richard froze.
His first ancestor?
The Skylight Grand Sovereign.
No... there was someone else as well.
His wife.
A husband and wife together founded the bloodline.
Naturally, every clan had two original ancestors, not just one.
Which meant this woman was actually the wife of the Skylight Grand Sovereign.
Richard couldn’t help taking a deep breath.
Meeting the spouse of a Grand Sovereign was astonishing enough.
Even more shocking was the fact that she was still alive.
That alone proved she wasn’t merely a fortunate woman who had married a Grand Sovereign.
Her own strength was undoubtedly beyond imagination.
