Chapter 1478: The Power Of Water (Part 2)
Chapter 1478: The Power Of Water (Part 2)
The ground was drenched, slick with rainfall, every surface gleaming as droplets continued to fall from the sky. Puddles spread wide across the battlefield, reflecting the crimson glow of Kai’s feral eyes. Each time his claws scraped the earth, the ground beneath froze solid in jagged patterns of ice, but the frost couldn’t hold back the constant downpour. The water kept replenishing itself, feeding the battlefield with an endless supply.
“Let’s see how fast you really are!” Don bellowed, raising both arms high.
Rain swirled around his hands, pulled by his will, condensing into heavy, violent torrents. He hurled them with a sweeping motion, sending the water crashing forward like cannon fire.
But even before Don’s arms had fully swung, Kai moved. The wolf’s body blurred to the side, muscles coiled like springs, instincts guiding him before the attack even launched. His ears twitched, sharp hearing warning him of Don’s intent long before the torrents struck.
In his True Alpha form, Kai wasn’t just fast, he was primal instinct given form.
Don’s eyes narrowed, and he leapt into the air, unwilling to give Kai any space. From above, his hands slashed through the air again and again. Streams of condensed water bullets rained downward, hammering the ground with explosive force. Kai weaved between them, his paws splashing through puddles, his speed making him look like a phantom dancing through the storm.
But Don wasn’t throwing blindly. He was laying a trap.
With a twist of his hands, the puddles scattered across the ground suddenly detonated. Water erupted upward in violent bursts, geysers exploding around Kai.
One connected.
The explosion struck directly under him, sending his body flipping high into the air. His massive frame twisted, claws flailing as droplets sprayed from his fur.
Don’s lips curled into a grin. There it is. The opening.
The rainfall spiraled into his grip, condensing into the shape of a massive trident. Power surged along its edges, and with a roar, Don hurled it forward. The weapon tore through the air, piercing Kai’s body cleanly and slamming him into the ground. The impact shook the earth, pinning him like prey to a hunter’s spear.
The water hardened instantly, frozen by Kai’s own aura, the trident locking into an even more solid form.
The Alpha snarled furiously. The fur along his back stiffened, then sharpened, transforming into hardened icicles. With a violent shudder, dozens of shards launched outward in all directions, each one angled toward Don, the one who had struck him.
Don braced himself, but he wasn’t alone.
Chen was already moving. Water swirled into his hands, forming twin vortexes. The whirlpools spun violently, dragging in the shards as they struck. Ice cracked, shattered, and dissolved under the spiraling water, fragments turning to harmless slush.
The downpour fed him, his defenses swelling stronger with every passing second.
And Adam was rising too.
From the countless puddles across the battlefield, massive tentacles clawed their way up. Not eight. Not twelve. Nearly thirty enormous limbs, each slick and glistening, towering over the ground like monstrous pillars. They writhed and snapped, casting looming shadows across the rain-soaked field.
Together, the three White Rose veterans pressed their assault.
But Kai was no ordinary foe.
Snarling, he wrenched himself free of the frozen trident, the wound in his torso already sealing. His regeneration was monstrous, his body healing even as blood steamed from the cut. In his True Alpha form, his resilience bordered on terrifying.
He lunged forward. Tentacles slammed down around him, gouging the ground, but Kai darted between them with unnatural speed.
Don followed up instantly, his hands blurring as he launched more crushing water blasts. The torrents collided with Kai’s body, each blow strong enough to shake the air. Shockwaves rippled outward, water spraying in every direction.
Kai roared, staggering but refusing to falter. His claws dug deep into the earth, anchoring him against the storm of blows.
Then Don shifted tactics.
One of Adam’s massive tentacles crashed against the ground beside Kai. At that very moment, Don detonated the water pooled around it. A colossal explosion erupted, spraying water like shrapnel across the battlefield.
Steam rose from the impact. For a moment, Kai’s form vanished from sight.
Then he burst through.
A wolf, desperate and feral, charged out of the spray, claws tearing across the drenched earth. His glowing eyes locked onto Adam. The one whose powers restrained him, whose tentacles slowed his every move.
Chen read his intent. He planted himself in front of Adam, arms wide, summoning another spiraling whirlpool. The water churned into a wall of defense, spinning violently.
But Kai’s instincts had already adapted.
His jaws opened wide, and a stream of freezing breath poured forth. The icy mist struck the whirlpool, locking its currents solid. The barrier froze in an instant, transformed from fluid to brittle ice.
And then, mid-charge, Kai’s body shifted.
His frame rose upward, twisting and snapping, muscles tearing and reforming until he towered as a massive Werewolf on two legs. His arms bulged with monstrous strength, and his fists clenched tightly.
With a roar, he struck.
His fist smashed into the frozen whirlpool, shattering it like glass. The impact tore through, and the strike slammed directly into Chen’s chest. The force sent him flying backward, his body skidding across the ground before tumbling to a stop.
Kai pressed forward, merciless.
Adam stood before him now, the tentacles writhing desperately to protect their host. Ice gathered in Kai’s claws, condensing into jagged blades that glimmered in the stormlight. With a savage swing, he cleaved downward.
Tentacles severed cleanly, frozen where they fell.
Kai hurled the twin blades, and they struck true, embedding into Adam’s legs, piercing through flesh and bone, freezing the water beneath him. Ice spread outward rapidly, locking his lower body in place, anchoring him to the field.
Even in his monstrous state, Kai wasn’t fighting like a beast. His mind was still sharp, still cunning. He used everything, speed, instinct, and strategy, to overwhelm his foes.
With a final growl, his body shifted back into wolf form. He sprinted forward, jaws snapping wide. Another trident hurled by Don whistled past, missing by inches.
But Kai didn’t stop.
He lunged, his teeth sinking deep into Adam’s neck.
