Chapter 2985: The Realm of Oceanus

Adrian knew that he can no longer push for the last Asmodian soul fragment because the gods in the southern continent were far more collective when it comes to foreign beings. Even if they sometimes argue with territory and such, the gods of the southern continent are united when it comes to threats to their land. This is actually quite something that the central continent lacks because of the power structure here.

"The central continent does not have a god king to rule it entirely because this place is the densest of all when it comes to the protection of the world barrier. It is also why there are lots of hidden plots and schemes floating about. I just need to make myself feel better by getting one of the elementums instead." Adrian stated as he already forgot that he was almost killed by a thousand or so gods in the southern continent.

He already told one of the god kings in the southern continent that he will visit formally one day. This was not a threat but akin to a gesture that tells them that he recognizes their power and authority in the southern continent. It also meant that he will not just teleport himself to their territory without any word sent. This is the reason why the other god kings did not dare to attack him and show him respect instead.

"I guess I should get some backup to the place that I will go to." Adrian stated as he vanished from his location.

Altum was swimming freely in the lake beneath Avalon all snugly and comfortable. You can even see that he has his eyes closed as he just enjoyed his leisure time swimming. Adrian learned of his story on why he likes the water and that he actually was a national athletic swimmer for his country until the scandal broke.

He is also the one that their coach would have chosen if not for the scheme of a rather wealthy businessman. Not only was his bag got planted with performance inducing drugs, his mother was also threatened to be taken care of if he did not back down.

His coach tried to vouch for him but he was suddenly found severely injured in an alley and had to be hospitalized for a year.

Altum would have fallen to depression if not for the fact that all of the schemes that were pinned on him are then given to light. It seems that this family tried it on another transferee that was as good as Altum in swimming but they did not expect that the transferee’s family was far more powerful than them. A year later, the ones that charged and ruined Altum’s life was convicted and their wealth lost.

Altum was not able to return to swimming and such because his face was already in the news as someone that cheated. A scandal of that magnitude meant career ending even if it is not true. Since the school played a part of the scandal despite knowing the truth, Altum managed to at least sue them. Altum along with his injured coach got a massive payout in order for them to keep quiet. If their stories were broadcasted more then the school would definitely be shut down.

Seeing that they can no longer be in their career paths, they chose the money as dreams can only be achieved if you have the means after all. Altum only took that swimming scholarship to ease the burden on his mother and to make sure that they do not starve. Still, it also meant that no university in his area will take him despite the records of him being involved in performance inducing drugs redacted.

As a result, Altum changed his path to playing Pandemonium as it is said to be very lucrative as long as you can sell good items. With the money he got as compensation, he started Pandemonium and actually became the Champion of the Deep. He got good items thanks to having been diving underwater dungeons that few players could clear at the time.

He got a steady life in comfort without burdening his mother but he also felt lonely. Sensing the loneliness of his favored child, the God of the Deep Dagon created instances where players would wander in his territory to meet his child. The unfortunate thing is that others often ran away when seeing his children.

It was quite a miracle that Adrian and Levin Cloud found the God of the Deep Dagon. After that is the story that followed and Altum becoming part of Adrian’s friends and then guild. It also helped that the God of the Deep Dagon has joined the gods of life as he is able to produce life which eased the burden on them.

Altum became very comfortable but he also is a bit scared of his guild leader as he has seen his true face when fighting. He shuddered when he learned of the battle junkie personality of his guild leader because he smiles while making the heads of his enemies explode. He admires Adrian when he is this calm and charismatic leader but is terrified of him when in battle.

"It is actually very good that I decided to join him. Having him as an enemy is basically a death sentence." Altum stated as he floated in the water with his arms curled behind his head.

"Decide to join who?" Adrian’s voice stated which surprised Altum and made water splash towards Adrian.

The water that is supposed to splash Adrian suddenly stopped in mid-air before it returned to the lake. Kanlaon could be seen coiled around Adrian’s neck in his smaller form. Adrian did not mind being splashed because he did slightly scare Altum but he did not expect that the reaction would be that great.

"Do not tell me that you are actually trying to leave the guild?! Did someone try to poach you from me?" Adrian stated as his aura became big but not overbearing.

"No! You know that I am very loyal to you. I mean there were those that tried to poach me but they were not really great people. The Pantheon guild is good for someone a free spirited like me that is slightly introverted." Altum stated.

"I was just joking about the leaving part. I know that you are very loyal to the guild and that you rejected all those that tried to poach you." Adrian stated which shocked Altum.

"You knew?!" Altum replied in shock.

"Oh! Awraka has all details about the guild members that are being poached. She even has the exact things that were said to each of you at that time. It is a very fun read because you can see their desperation and how funny it is." Adrian stated with a chuckle.

"They know that much!?" Altum exclaimed as he shuddered.

"Oh! Please! You should not mind it too much because you cannot just waltz in and have weirdos join you because you told them something they want to hear. I also learned that you were rejected the other day. Do not worry as you can find someone better as there are many fish in the sea." Adrian stated as he suddenly felt that his last sentence was awkward which made the air incredibly silent.

"You are also a weirdo, guild leader. Also, that was supposed to be private! How did you know that?!" Altum grumbled as he finally became calmer and a bit embarrassed.

"Oh! The Shadow Units see all and they even record everything which is why you should go to places they cannot reach or deploy a barrier that conceals the area. Also, the aunties in the square were gossiping about you since the rejection happened with some eyes around." Adrian stated which made Altum feel like his soul left his body from the embarrassment.

"Are you here to humiliate me, guild leader?" Altum asked as he looked like a deflated life preserver.

"Not really. I am actually here to ask for your help since I need to do something in an ocean area." Adrian stated as Altum perked up.

"Where is it?! I can easily help you and I am very confident as long as water in involved." Altum stated.

"Thanks! No backing out! Here are the coordinates." Adrian stated as he presented the coordinates.

Altum looked excited when he looked at the coordinates but suddenly his smile vanished upon seeing correctly. He even tried to turn around and escape but chains shot out from Adrian’s body to bind him.
