Chapter 3006: Forbidden Ocean: Realm of Oceanus IV
"We never trapped him in another dimension! Also, he is a demon! How can we even trap him in another dimension! He might be the one trapping us instead if we encounter him!" Another of the divine beings shouted as they could not believe that they were getting slandered when all they were doing is watching.
"Calm down. It seems that the deviousness of the demons is still in their blood despite being for so long. Even the demons back then would look for things to do for others that will satisfy their standard. He must be so close to blood to his ancestors which is why he is like that." The voice of the Titan of the Ocean Oceanus stated as he explained that demons were naturally that playful.
Adrian suddenly felt that his head was itching as if someone was slandering him from behind his back. Nevertheless, he led Renyu and Altum to more and more areas where they can temper their bodies in order to be ready in evolving into demigods. Adrian already decided that this is something that really does temper demigods but only for those that live on the ocean or sea.
"Even if I join them, I will not get anything at all which means that it is useless for me. The best thing is to make sure that they survive everything that Kanlaon sensed. There are still a lot more where that came from and I will make sure to mold their bodies into perfect demigods." Adrian thought as he smiled which made Renyu and Altum feel a chill on their bodies.
Renyu and Altum did not notice that they were being driven by Adrian like a drill sergeant. He was basically making them fight and healing them up if they are at death’s door. Temporal Magic was very handy for Adrian and he spared no expense even at the cost of his mana.
They did avoid the powerful threats that could also kill them without any difficulty. It is a good thing that Adrian would just transfer them to another location if he knew that they cannot defeat the enemy before them. It did not take long for Adrian and the others to finish all of the areas that Kanlaon has scouted but Renyu and Altum finally felt something was definitely wrong.
"Guild leader, why does it feel like only the two of us are fighting?" Altum asked directly.
"It is because the two of you are the only ones fighting." Adrian replied without even stuttering.
"I see... WHAT!" Altum and Renyu suddenly shouted simultaneously.
"It is not like I am not supporting the two of you. I am making sure that both of you will still stay alive. I even used temporal magic to restore your grave wounds so that the two of you will not die instantly. This training would not have been good for you if you died after all." Adrian stated which left the two of them dumbfounded from the words that they heard.
"training"
"Not die easily"
"Guild leader, please know that I am currently stopping myself from dragging you to the depth of the oceans to pin you to a reef. I hope that you have a good explanation for this." Altum stated as he could no longer hold it.
"I would like an explanation as well! My armor is almost out of durability!" Renyu protested as well.
"Tsk... Tsk... the both of you are now ready to become demigods because of the changes in your bodies and you dare to challenge my methods. Have the two of you not checked your bodies?" Adrian stated which made the two of them instantly check.
Altum’s body looked even more defensive as the scales on his body looked like diamonds now. The durability and strength could basically tank any hits easily. He did feel that he managed to take more hits than before and without it triggering an injury. He also felt that his speed and strength increased as he could defeat enemies around them in under ten swings when it usually took double that investment.
Renyu also saw changes in her body as well and also her mana quality. She always felt exhausted if she used magic continuously but she never felt tired now. It was as if her own mana core has already evolved to handle simultaneous casting. The scales on her tail also shimmered when light is reflected which means that she has grown stronger. The more beautiful the tail of a merfolk then the more powerful they are after all.
"Do the two of you have anything you want to say then?" Adrian asked but the two of them could be seen just relaxing and ignoring the conversation as they have actually benefitted from it greatly.
"It is quite good that this is now proven or else I might have had to fork out some items to pacify their anger at me." Adrian thought as he was doing a victory pose in his head as the plan actually gave good results.
"Fine. We would have wanted a heads-up though. If you were really making way for us then you also got nothing in the end." Altum stated.
"No worries. Even if I did participate with the both of you, I will not get any benefits anyways. This place is basically a training ground for raising demigods that can live in water. I finally verified it with our encounters and the stories passed down from legends." Adrian stated as this theory is now solid.
The Titan of the Ocean Oceanus basically created a large training ground for raising demigods and that is basically his realm. It might be due to the fact that he has no right to choose an envoy or a champion. He cannot have an envoy or champion because of his neutrality agreement with Olympus. He trains demigods that could give order and peace in the ocean instead to make sure that there are no problems even if he does not have a champion or an envoy.
"You mean, this entire area is a training ground?!" Altum exclaimed in shock.
"What a deadly and dangerous training ground it is then!" Renyu added.
"It is not deadly but dangerous training ground fit the bill. If you were truly on the brink of being killed then you would definitely be saved. I heard some stories from those blessed gods and they never said that many fall here. Some were just rejected and cast out." Adrian stated.
"If this is really a training ground, then there should be way towards the actual place where the Titan of the Ocean Oceanus lives, right? I mean all of this would be for nothing if we cannot get rewarded." Altum stated.
"There is no out here because we have been going in circles for a few hours already. I managed to verify it when I made Kanlaon check on the ends of this place but he always gets sent back to the center. It is a large area that leads back to the gate mechanism." Adrian stated.
"Uhmm... is this normal? I mean I usually take down a powerful seabeast or two but a place where time and space is warped is very new to me. I always watched videos about that but it is actually very daunting when you are the one caught in it." Renyu stated.
"Do not worry about that part. I can easily get us an exit if we want to." Adrian stated which made the two of them perk up.
"I always believed in you, guild leader. I knew that you already found the exit." Altum stated as he patted Adrian’s shoulders.
"You are telling yourself that so that you would not throw me into a water demise, right?" Adrian stated.
"Yes, and it is the only thing that prevents me from doing that to you." Altum replied with a smile.
"If that is the case, where is the gate then? Do we have a task to accomplish or something? We already searched every area of this place and we did not find any gate at all." Renyu interjected.
"We no longer need to stay here because our time is already up. We have fulfilled the requirements needed to meet the divine beings watching over us. Am I right?" Adrian stated as he looked upwards which made Altum and Renyu also do the same.
"You did not lose your mind... right? Guild leader?" Altum asked politely as he suddenly thought that the guild leader might be under so much stress.
"What are you looking at?" Renyu asked as she thought that there is nothing above them.
"Ohoh! Being a bit cheeky now, are we?" Adrian stated in a horrible accent as he actually stared directly at a specific location. A location where water glistened and mirrored the surface. A demon that is so perceptive like Adrian will never fail to notice it because it operates with the same principles as spatial magic.
