Chapter 3024: To the Deep Skies

Adrian started to check the coordinates he pinned for the next dungeon. The dungeon that is said to be laid in the skies itself. A phenomenon that is incredibly rare as forming dungeons in the skies are not easy. Mana itself would need to become stable and then chaotic while also solidifying enough to create a dungeon from the clouds themselves.

Adrian already has the locations of the dungeon in the map with coordinates but he could not really believe that the dungeon is at the top of the skies. The only way to go there would be through dragons or something else that could take other players that is built with a dragon’s durability. Even the magictech ships of the gnomes are not able to pierce through those skies as it is incredibly high.

"It has a name called the Forbidden Zone: Storm Cloud Ravine but the maps only show it as clouds of dark mana. This time... I really am going blind." Adrian muttered.

"Do you not mean that we are going in blind?" A voice very familiar to Adrian stated which made him look around.

"You have arrived. Did everything go smoothly?" Adrian asked as he turned around with a smile because the one he was waiting for has already appeared.

"The north is stable now and the Valkyries are now acting as a defense force for the continent while also staying there permanently. I also managed to unlock the Valkyrie race for the players but it is limited to females so there was a lot of outrage from male players that want to be like them." Frey stated as she was now speaking a lot to Adrian compared to when they were in the early stage of their relationship.

She did not hide anything from him and Adrian also did the same. Their relationship has stepped into a new stage as Adrian already told her that he feared meeting her because he was once a cripple. Frey told him that what she likes is his character and not his body. This made them closer than before which is why the guild members would tease them as they do not act like their usual selves when they are around each other.

"I did not ask about the northern continent. I asked about the materials needed for the evolution of your mount. The mount of a Valkyrie is very precious after all and is connected to their soul." Adrian stated.

"You remembered." Frey stated with a smile.

"You mentioned it before." Adrian replied as if this was normal but Frey knew that this is not. She has asked about her friends in Briar Rose about relationships and such a trait is something that even her friends’ envy.

"Seriously, you are making me fall even more." Frey whispered as if she was talking to herself.

"What is that? I did not catch it." Adrian asked as he was looking for the item that will evolve the Pegasus mount that Frey has.

"Nothing. I was just murmuring to myself. Here are the items that you asked me to collect. Fortunately, all of them were found in dungeons in the Northern Continent. The other Valkyries even asked if I lost my mind because they know that Aurora Pegasi do not evolve any longer as they are perfect beings. Still, I trust you." Frey stated.

The Aurora Pegasi are basically winged horse monsters that were given form by the Goddess of Life Freyja with the help of the God of Seas Poseidon as the latter is also the god that created the horses. They were born from a gift as the Goddess of Life Freyja once helped the God of the Seas Poseidon.

The Aurora Pegasi could grow to Legendary Tier as long as they get to maturity and at least level 300 which Frey has already attained. The only problem is that even her partner knows that Frey is being dragged down. The Pegasus could not be blamed though as the monsters that her master is fighting are not normal but divine level beings. A legendary tier mount would fall easily if they get hit and her master is already a demigod.

"Maybe lower that trust a little because even I am not entirely sure about this. There is a 20% chance that this evolution fails and I kill your pegasus by mistake. I am not talking about temporary death but soul death." Adrian warned as he is not one to joke about the negative effects of such things.

"I trust you and my mount have already accepted as well." Frey stated as she also explained it to her mount.

"Still, if it ever fails, I could break the taboo and reincarnate your mount directly back into an egg." Adrian stated with a smile but Frey’s looked at him with an expression of ’do not fail’.

"Okay then. Let us perform the miracle of evolution then." Adrian stated as he took the items that Frey collected in the northern continent.

[You have obtained Coiled Earth Vine.]

The two items that Adrian received are all items that can only be obtained in the northern continent. The two items are something that can only be obtained in S rank dungeons and they are only dropped by the boss monsters. The trickiest parts of these dungeons are that they can only be cleared using five members.

Frey had the support of the Pantheon Guild and the Briar Rose guild as they repeatedly attempted to deal with these two dungeons. They had to experiment which teams have the best synergy for them to clear it in record time. They even jokingly said that they only needed the Demon and they could clear it but Adrian was busy as well.

"I would have joined you in conquering the dungeons when I am free but the business at the oceans and seas was too long." Adrian stated with a sad face.

"You were busy and honestly not needed." Frey stated bluntly which made Adrian look abandoned.

"It seems that you do not need me anymore." Adrian stated with a defeated voice.

"I did not mean it that way. I meant that you are not needed because I trust our friends. They also need training which actually helped them polish their fighting power a lot. We are now fighting against gods after all." Frey stated as she knew that Adrian was just teasing her since he is already accustomed to her bluntness.

"That explanation did not help ease the pain at all but I will take it since I am done." Adrian stated as the magic circle has been formed.

What Adrian created is a Mythical Magic Circle that lets monsters transcend their bloodlines and race as long as they were given the correct items. If the Summoner Tower or academy actually learns of this magic circle then they would definitely grovel at their Adrian’s feet. They would beg him to teach this magic circle since there are some monsters that are bound by bloodlines and tier.

"Just to be safe, this is not breaking the taboo, right? I mean you are the Champion of Life and Death but here you are creating something that could alter another being." Frey asked with concern as she thinks that Adrian is helping her while sacrificing something of his.

"Not really if we are being technical." Adrian replied which made Frey look at him sharply.

"The taboo for life and death is only applicable if a being is being driven out of its cycle. If we fail, then your mount dies but it lives if successful. It is still bound to the laws of life and death that all life is subjected to. We are just artificially triggering it using the laws of magic. Also, if it was forbidden then those gods and goddesses of life would already be screaming at me." Adrian added.

"Is it really that forgiving of a rule?" Frey asked as she is the Avatar of the Goddess of Life Freyja but the goddess does not pass her rules to her since she is not a champion or an envoy.

"Yes. Do you think that it was strict? It is stricter on the divine side but the mortal side is very simple. You would think that simple laws would make no one break it but the simplest of universal laws have the most offenders." Adrian stated as if he was exhausted of all the enemies that he fought because of them breaking the taboo of life and death.

"I guess there are many idiotic people trying to break it because they are afraid of it." Frey added which made Adrian giggle as what she said is true.

All beings are afraid of death even those that are said to have no fears. It is always in the back of their mind and that they are not just thinking about it actively. This is the reason why lots of beings want to attain divinity as it is one way to avoid mortal death.
