Chapter 3025: Forcing an Evolution: Pegasus

"Okay. Everything is perfectly stable now. It is now time to proceed with the evolution ritual. Since the two of you are also tied together, make sure to be prepared for the second phase. That will be the thing that decides if we succeed." Adrian stated.

Frey did not doubt Adrian because she knows how he operates. Even though Adrian told her that they have a 20% chance to fail at this ritual, he would have already found a way to make sure that they can overcome it. He is just not saying it to her now as he must have other backups in place.

Frey has noticed this about Adrian as he can be very calculating when he uses his brain to the extreme. She read that this is sometimes the result when one sense has been paralyzed for a long time and his brain basically dumps the other processes to his mind. This made him incredibly sharp which is already terrifying because he was already smart to begin with.

She also noticed the battle junkie side of Adrian but he was different from the rest. His mind actually works on overdrive when he enjoys the battle that he smiles. If he did not have a decent face card then he would have looked incredibly villainous given the fact that he is a demon. Then again, the Briar Rose Guild did say that Adrian’s face is like a priceless treasure but that is their opinion.

"Summon your mount. The three items are now ready as I already created the magic circles that controls them." Adrian stated as he brought out the three items related to the evolution of the pegasus mount.

[You have marked the Frost Fang Mistletoe.]

[You have marked the Coiled Earth Vine.]

[You have marked the Core of Sleipnir.]

The three items floated against each other and hummed as if they resonated. The Frost Fang Mistletoe and the Coiled Earth Vine is a mythical tier item. The Core of Sleipnir, on the other hand, is a divine tier item that could make a demigod have a chance to evolve into a lesser god. The other demigods know that he has a core that could upgrade a demigod but they are not going against him because they are scared of him.

Adrian then proceeded to fuse the three items that resonated greatly. The only reason that he knows of this is he used the Scrying spell on the Core of Sleipnir. He needed two powerful items that could suppress the ego that is still inside of the Core of Sleipnir. This is also the reason that he is not using the core even if it is powerful. Also, none of his soulbounds resonate with the Core of Sleipnir which is why he decided to just hand it to someone that can use it.

The three items pulsated even more while the pegasus beside Frey suddenly felt something like a pull in the bloodline. Adrian suddenly smiled as he looked at the reaction because that was definitely genuine. If the mount did not react to this then Adrian would have stopped this at once but it did. This meant that they were already a step in the right direction and the only problem is breaking through the racial restrictions.

Adrian then moved his hands as if he was activating the magic circle beneath his feet and also the magic circles that held the items. The Coiled Earth Vines was the first to wrap around the Core of Sleipnir. The vines creeped into the core and it suddenly tightened to a great degree. With the sudden tightening of the Coiled Earth Vine, a powerful neigh of a horse monster echoed in the guild house.

If they actually did this outside the guild house then there would have been a great commotion. It was a good thing that only a few people were in the guild house at the time and they already knew that their guild leader is up to something with Frey. They were curious but they would never dare to intrude on the time of the two unless they want to be subjected to special training.

"The will has been bound which means it can no longer escape the core. Now for the next step." Adrian stated as he activated the magic circles once more and this time it was time for the Frost Fang Mistletoe.

The Frost Fang Mistletoe is a Mythical Tier herb that looks like a frozen mistletoe with fruits that look like frozen wolf fangs hanging in them. He activated the magic circle and the herb became mist that clung to the Core of Sleipnir. The loud neighs of indignation by the last ego that the core has suddenly became quiet.

"The ego has now been weakened and forever bound to the core. The next step would be easy but the step after that will be the last. The step that will either make or break this ritual." Adrian stated and Frey nodded as she understood and became ready.

"You can do this. I believe in you." Frey stated as she caressed her mount before Adrian activated the last magic circle.

The last magic circle made the Core of the Sleipnir shot towards the heart of the Aurora Pegasus. A loud cry could be heard as the Aurora Pegasus convulsed. Due to the sudden overwhelming surge of power, the Aurora Pegasus could only endure standing up but that only lasted ten minutes as it laid on the ground.

"You mount can no longer fight the ego on its own. It is time for us to go inside the mental world and assist it. Take note that we would be restricted inside the mental world and might not be able to release our full power." Adrian stated.

"I am ready. Please proceed." Frey answered but even she is a bit nervous.

Frey was nervous but not enough to throw her mind out of it. She was told that if her mount could resist the ego of Sleipnir on its own for more than five minutes then the chance of success will increase. The fact that ten minutes was the breaking point meant that her mount’s determination was real. Adrian activated the last part of the magic circle that he created and both of the mental scapes of him and Frey was sent deep into the Core of Sleipnir.

Adrian basically deduced the magic being used for the soul link into a magic that can enter the mindscapes of other beasts. This is one of the reasons why his ritual magic circle could rework the foundations of summoning magic because it lets those that activated it to enter mindscapes of monsters undergoing evolution when it is usually chaotic at that time.

Mindscapes during evolution is something that cannot be accessed by others as it is akin to a world undergoing destruction and reformation. Any mind that enters would just be entering a death sentence because any mistake would shatter the minds of those that try to enter. Adrian’s magic circle basically allows a direct passage to the center of the mindscape without any problem.

Adrian and Frey were then sent instantly as they only saw changes in color before the mindscape of the Core of Sleipnir is presented to them. They were sent to a vast sky where an Aurora Pegasus and a dark misty Sleipnir are slamming against one another. The battle between the egos have already started and the Aurora Pegasus seems to be slowly losing.

The entire area around them is also deteriorating as the sky the two were fighting could be seen slowly getting torn up and then rebuilt. Each clash between the two would create more destruction and restoration. This was definitely part of the process to know what ego will control the body. If the Aurora Pegasus loses then Adrian would lose its soul which would mean permanent death.

"There is also a chance that the ego of Sleipnir could override the body but I will kill that ego myself if that happens. The vow between you and your mount would dissolve if that happens which is why we need to help it win." Adrian stated but Frey was already gone from his side a she was already with wings and charging towards the ego of Sleipnir.

Adrian smiled as he did not expect that Frey would easily get accustomed to the mindscape. He already told her that Sleipnir’s ego could have the strength it had when it was alive. This is the mindscape of its own creation after all. The ones that are really attacking are the Aurora Pegasus and them but this is vital for the process.

The Ego of Sleipnir would not willingly hand all of the power of the core after all. The Aurora Pegasus would need to claim it for itself. The only way to become a Sleipnir is to devour all of the power that the core has. This is the vital step that Adrian said that has a 20% failure because he is not sure nothing unexpected will happen.
