Chapter 3028: Storm Cloud Ravine I

[You have entered the First Layer of the Storm Cloud Ravine]

Adrian and Frey managed to enter the Storm Cloud Ravine withot any difficulties thanks to Kanlaon and Zorya. They were able to do it smoothly because of the passive wind current nullification that both beings have. They are amazed at the vastness of the place because it is truly a Forbidden Zone and a dungeon at the same time.

This is the difference of the Storm Cloud Ravine from another Forbidden Zone because all of it is also considered a dungeon. It is also the biggest reason why no one can escape it once inside as they would need to literally clear the dungeon or have an item that can teleport them out. There are dropped items in this dungeon that could give an Exit Ticket if you get lucky from killing the mobs.

The only problem is that no player has ever cleared this Forbidden Zone because of the immense difficulty and some do not even know it existed. Adrian even asked the other guilds if they have any idea about Storm Cloud Ravine and he was surprised that only a few does. The few people that knew of the Storm Cloud Ravine are even lesser in number if you ask if they entered it.

The only players that entered it before were the players that could fly which were the Dragonkin at the time. There were rumors about some players finding a secret entrance on a mountain cliff but that is all fiction. The entirety of Storm Cloud Ravine itself has never been conquered because the world message would be given if it did.

It is said that the entirety of Storm Cloud Ravine will get destroyed or vanish if it is cleared. All of the monsters that were not killed inside would then be released back into the wilds. In the end, Adrian asked if they knew the levels of Storm Cloud Ravine but they all told him that they only reached the First Layer before all of them died from the immense wind pressure.

"Then again, this much pressure would not be a problem for the current me but if it was before then I will have problems." Adrian commented as he tried flying by himself and found out that the wind pressure in the first layer did not hinder him in anyway.

"Showing off now, are we?" Frey stated in a teasing voice which made Adrian chuckle but their laughs could not be continued as the first list of enemies finally came crashing to their party.

Monster Name: Sonic Beak

Monster Level: 310

Description: A medium sized savage avian monster that has beaks that could open in four directions. It releases powerful sonic attacks that could tear up flesh and bone if directly hit. It always moves in a group as they would release sonic attacks all around their prey until all flesh have been stripped off. They became vegetarian because of being the lowest hierarchy in the Storm Cloud Ravine.

"No wonder they died when they visited the First Layer back then. The normal mobs are already at Level 300 and above which means the next layers might prove dangerous even for us." Adrian stated as the difficulty of the quest is suddenly slamming him in the face.

Adrian’s snarky remark did not make the enemies stop their attack as it has been long since they have seen beings with soft flesh. Because the Sonic Beak is the most common monster in the Storm Cloud Ravine, all of the monsters in it have grown tough skin along with the fact that sonic attacks no longer strip their flesh. In the end, the Sonic Beak became the bottom of the hierarchy and has become the widest known food source for stronger monsters.

"I suddenly feel that they are pitiful after reading all of that." Adrian stated as he could not believe the description since they were basically forced to eat vegetables or greens as they became the base level prey in this dungeon.

"If you wish to transform them back to omnivores then you can offer your own." Frey stated as she charged with Zorya.

The Sonic Beaks charged towards Frey and Zorya since they were also moving towards them. The entire flock of Sonic Beaks had their beaks split into four to reveal small sharp teeth inside of it. As soon as their beaks became four, a screeching sound is released Adrian could truly see that sound waves materialized. The attack of the Sonic Beaks is literally the reason why they are dangerous and that they are really monsters above level 300.

Frey and Zorya did not stop with their charge as the sonic bursts of the Sonic Beaks did not stop her. The sound attack did not even land on Zorya as a crystalline barrier made from aurora and crystals blocked everything. This was one of the skills that Zorya has as it created a transparent film crystal barrier to her and her master. The most important thing is that the ability can borrow strength from her rider which made it very effective against enemies that are level 300 despite Zorya now being at level 150.

In fact, all of the attacks slammed against the crystalline barrier and it got destroyed and regenerated all at the same time. Adrian did not expect that this effect would be seen as this was seen earlier when the mindscape of the Sleipnir was getting destroyed and repaired at the same time. It seems that Zorya has gained some enlightenment from that experience as a skill basically manifested the same process.

Frey lifted her spear and killed an entire flock of Sonic Beaks with just one swing and using a short skill called Wide Sweep. The bodies of the Sonic Beaks vanished into particles of light as their dropped items actually floated in the air instead of dropping. This meant that items taken from defeated monsters will not vanish and drop to the ground but would stay at the location of the defeated monster for a period of time.

"That was hardly a warm-up." Frey grumbled in a semi-cute voice which would have been impossible for anyone to see if they were not Adrian. If the people could see that the famous ice queen was pouting and acting cute then they would say that the world might be ending or something must be wrong with the timeline.

Before Adrian could give her a reply, five more flocks of a dozen or so Sonic Beaks came flying towards them. It seems that the screams released by the Sonic Beaks also attracted more of their kind like a call for help. Frey told Adrian that she will handle all of them as she needs to practice with Zorya anyway and she has a lot of mana to spare. Adrian nodded and told her that he will just place buffs on them as he watched.

Frey rampaged in the frontline while Adrian watched her smiling as she slaughtered the Sonic Beaks. It is also a good time for Adrian to observe the movements of the Sonic Beaks. These bird monsters were not mindless at all because they have great spatial awareness. The only reason they are getting trampled on is due to the fact that Frey is higher level than them.

If it were any normal player that is at the same level as the Sonic Beaks then they would die from the harassment of one to two flocks. This place is truly called a Forbidden Zone because even the normal monsters are deadly even at the same level or power. Adrian then focused on something else as he needs to check the area if there is an entrance to the next layer.

Adrian then used his energy and then spread it outwards until the entire first layer was covered. He did not expect that the first layer was a vast area at all. The Storm Cloud Ravine looked small from the outside but this is a dungeon after all. The outside does not hold the same ideals as the inside. He managed to finish checking the entire first layer in just one attempt but that did not come without any issues.

What Adrian did is akin to echolocation but using energy instead of waves. All beings in the first layer were touched by the energy he released and now they have located his position as well. Numerous flocks of flying monsters swirled and flew towards them which darkened the sky before them.

"Did you pull their aggro?" Frey asked as she could see that the monsters coming towards them were not just Sonic Beaks but other types as well.

"Sorry about that. It seems the monsters here are also very sensitive to energy but I did find the entrance to the second layer." Adrian stated.

"In that case, let me pierce our path through!" Frey shouted as she and Zorya got the coordinates and excitedly charged toward the numerous amounts of flying monsters.
