Chapter 1005: Two Days
Chapter 1005: Two Days
Julian slept for two full days and two nights, not waking up until a little past nine in the morning on the third day.
For over seven months, he hadn’t slept well. Although he appeared energetic on the surface, once he finally relaxed, the exhaustion caught up with him.
That was why he slept for such a long time.
"Dee~"
Love: "You’re awake."
"Mm, what time is it?"
Julian lazily stretched, feeling incredibly comfortable all over. The mental ease he felt now was even more satisfying than pulling off a pentakill.
"Nine-oh-five."
Love looked at Julian with a trace of concern in its eyes, though Julian didn’t notice it.
"I slept for a whole day?"
Julian was a bit surprised, not realizing he had slept that long.
"Julian, you slept for two days. You even out-slept Nebby!"
Celebi, who was beside Love, chimed in as soon as it heard Julian speak.
"Two days?"
Julian found it hard to believe. He picked up his phone from the bedside table and checked the date: August 18th. It really had been two days.
He remembered it was the 16th before he fell asleep.
Sleeping for two whole days—Julian himself felt it was unbelievable. No wonder he felt so refreshed upon waking up, it turned out he had slept for two whole days.
"Dee~"
Love: "You can’t push yourself like this in the future."
In Love’s eyes, Julian had been neglecting his health by not sleeping or eating properly for over seven months.
During the two days Julian slept, Love was constantly worried, checking on him from time to time.
"I know, Love."
Julian smiled, but the next moment, his stomach began to rumble.
Having not eaten for two days, it was only natural that he was hungry.
"Dee~"
Love: "I’ll go cook with Slowking now."
Although it wasn’t quite mealtime yet, since its little one hadn’t eaten for two days, it naturally had to make him something delicious.
"I lost tens of thousands of points…"
Leaning against the bed, Julian muttered quietly to himself.
He had slept for two days and woke up after nine on the third day, meaning he had missed three daily tasks. That really was a loss of tens of thousands of points.
The number of points rewarded for daily tasks wasn’t fixed. If you were lucky, a single task could yield seventy or eighty thousand points.
With even better luck, it might even reward Mewtwo Fragments, Rare Candies, or so on.
'Sigh—forget it,' the more he thought about it, the more it hurt.
He got up, washed, and went downstairs.
As soon as he reached the bottom of the stairs, the aroma of food hit him, making his stomach growl even louder.
"Slowking, Love, is the food ready?" Julian called out toward the kitchen.
Soon, Love came out carrying a dish.
"Dee~"
Love: "If you're hungry, you can start eating first. The other dishes will be ready soon."
It was rare for Julian not to have eaten for two days—of course Love was willing to indulge him this time.
Julian belonged to the type who took advantage when given any opening—he immediately grabbed a bowl and chopsticks and started digging in.
The dish Love brought out was a stir-fried meat dish—beef, to be precise—and the flavor was naturally excellent.
After that, it became a cycle: Love would bring out a dish, and Julian would finish it off. Of course, Celebi and Jirachi helped too. Nebby was sleeping upstairs, so it didn't join the battle.
After eating his fill, Julian leaned back in his chair, taking small sips of the MooMoo milk Love handed him. He lounged for about ten minutes before saying to Love, "Love, I'm heading to the secret realm today. I'll probably be gone for a while."
Love nodded and reminded him to be careful.
"Metagross, let's go. To the Primal Secret Realm."
Picking up the still-sleeping Nebby, Julian felt like things were finally getting back on track.
The next moment, Metagross vanished from the house, taking Julian, Celebi, Jirachi, and Nebby along.
Now alone, Love silently began clearing the dishes from the table.
"Grandpa, Dad."
Almost instantly, Julian arrived at the sea area where the Primal Secret Realm was located. Right at the entrance, he saw his grandfather and his father—who was fishing.
He really had to hand it to fishermen—they could fish anywhere.
"Any bites?" I asked.
Jake replied nonchalantly, "Just started."
"It's been three or four hours, and you're just starting?" John immediately called him out.
When asked if they've caught anything, the most common excuse from an unsuccessful angler was: "I just got here."
But if an angler actually landed a big one, they'd probably pass by their own home three times without entering, eager to parade the fish all over town.
"Dad, what nonsense are you talking about?"
Jake's face flushed slightly. Being embarrassed in front of this rascal of a son really annoyed him.
Ignoring the annoyed Jake, John looked at Julian and asked, "My dear grandson, are you going in now?"
"Mhm."
Julian nodded.
"Did Regigigas tell you what's inside?" John asked.
"No," Julian shook his head. "It told me it doesn't know either. It just said its mission was to pull the Primal Secret Realm out from the void."
"At the same time, Regigigas itself isn’t clear how many Primal secret realms there are. Anyway, this is the first one."
"Some Primal Secret Realms would appear on their own without needing to be pulled. Only those hidden in the void require its intervention."
That was also why Regigigas had suddenly awakened.
As for why the Primal Secret Realm appeared only hundreds of years after the fusion of the Pokémon world, Regigigas had absolutely no idea.
But one thing was certain though: more Primal Secret Realms would appear in the future. If a country was lucky enough, one might even appear within its borders.
"This guy really doesn't know anything, huh?" John said, a bit dissatisfied.
Julian nodded in agreement. Honestly, when he had asked Regigigas about the Primal Secret Realm, it had answered "I don’t know" to everything.
If not for the fact that he could sense Regigigas truly wasn’t lying, Julian would have thought it was just refusing to tell him the truth.
"Maybe Regigigas' purpose for existing is just that," Julian said with a smile.
Given its Slow Start ability, its purpose definitely wasn't fighting.
Just like how Slaking's purpose wasn't fighting either—it was more about being pitied and becoming the butt of many trainers' jokes.
"Son, do you want me to go in with you?"
After all, Julian was his own flesh and blood. Even though he was often frustrated by Julian's knack for getting him into trouble, facing a Secret Realm with unknown dangers, Jake couldn't help but worry.
"What business is it of yours? With just one Champion-level Pokémon, if anyone should go, it should be me," John retorted impatiently.
"Dad, that's not fair to say," Jake protested, unhappy.
His fatherly concern was being treated as worthless by John.
"Don't cause trouble. Let my grandson go alone. I won't go either," John stated firmly.
Given Julian's strength, if he encountered an enemy he couldn't handle, their presence would be useless. In fact, they might even become a burden, holding him back.
