Pokemon: Reborn Rich Alternate Earth

Chapter 1032: More Treasures

Chapter 1032: More Treasures

After Dragonite absorbed the Dragon Soul and fell into slumber, Julian once again looked at Kleavor and asked, "Is Arceus inside this secret realm?"

Earlier, Kleavor had said that ten thousand years ago, the five of them had helped Arceus recover the lost Plates, and only then had they obtained the King Form, an absurdly powerful buff.

Following this line of thought, since Arceus had lost its Plates in this Primal Secret Realm, then was it possible that Arceus itself was still within this realm?

Kleavor shook its head. "We have no idea where Lord Arceus is. Perhaps it’s in this world, or perhaps somewhere else."

A Pokémon like Arceus—how could it possibly know its whereabouts? Julian was really overestimating it.

Since the other party did not know, Julian didn’t press further. Instead, his expression shifted into a smile as he looked at Kleavor.

Kleavor felt a shiver down its spine under his gaze.

"Kleavor, do you have any treasures you could give me?"

Those words made Kleavor’s face darken immediately. 'Damn it, I’ve already given you the Dragon Soul, the greatest treasure, and you’re still not satisfied? Are you pushing your luck?'

"No. And you can leave now."

Kleavor said coldly, issuing a clear dismissal. It was afraid that if this continued, it would not be able to restrain itself from splitting this human in half with its axe.

"Really nothing?" Julian was unwilling to give up.

Although he had the Dowsing Machine that could locate all treasures, some treasures placed in special locations could not be detected by it.

For example, treasures placed inside Gengar’s stomach, or inside his system space.

Kleavor had lived for ten thousand years. Julian really did not believe that over such a long span of time, this guy had not hidden any good stuff at all.

It must have hidden some, and they must be hidden somewhere the Dowsing Machine could not detect.

Julian was absolutely convinced of this.

Kleavor took a deep breath, suppressing the anger in its heart. It swore that if Metagross weren’t staring it down from the side, it would have absolutely cleaved Julian in two with its axe.

Taking another deep breath, it then spat out two golden, gleaming fruits from its mouth.

[Gold Berry: Increases base Defense by 20%.]

---

Julian had obtained this Ultimate treasure before. It was good stuff, especially valuable for trainers focusing on Rock- and Steel-type Pokémon.

"Here."

It handed the two Gold Berries to Julian.

Since the berries had been spat out from its stomach, they naturally came with a bit of saliva.

Julian was somewhat disgusted and, of course, didn't touch them with his hands. Instead, he used his psychic abilities to hold them, rinsed them with water from his system space, and only then placed them into his pocket.

"Can you leave now?" Kleavor asked, its tone dripping with impatience.

"Sure, sure, I'll leave right away."

Julian quickly nodded. He could tell that Kleavor was nearing its limit, though he wasn't the least bit afraid of it. Any one of the Twin Dragons could easily make it kneel and sing in submission.

But that wasn't necessary. It had already given him Ultimate treasures—two of them, in fact. Julian had only hoped for one, so this was an unexpected bonus.

Kleavor indicated that it only wanted Julian gone, which was why it had given him an extra one.

Of the two Gold Berries, Julian gave one to Duraludon and the other to Aegislash.

Watching them eat happily, Celebi and Jirachi made strange faces. They had seen with their own eyes that these Gold Berries had been spat out of Kleavor's mouth, complete with saliva.

Now, seeing the two Pokémon looking so blissful, the little ones almost gagged. The kind-hearted Jirachi even wanted to warn them, but under Julian's stern gaze, it obediently kept its mouth shut.

"This guy is pretty weird. Why would he store things in his stomach?" Julian muttered.

"Gen!"

Gengar in his shadow protested.

"You're much better than him," Julian reassured it.

Though Gengar also stored things in its stomach, its stomach was an alternate space, whereas Kleavor’s stomach was a biological stomach in the literal sense.

Over the ten thousand years, Kleavor had undoubtedly used countless Ultimate treasures. These two Gold Berries must have been ones that no longer had any effect on it, so it had kept them stored away.

The properties of Ultimate treasures could not be stacked.

For example, the Gold Berry increased base Defense by 20%. If you later obtained an Ultimate treasure that increased base Defense by 30% and gave it to the same Pokémon, the stronger effect would override the weaker one—meaning the Pokémon would only receive the 30% boost.

However, every Ultimate treasure had the effect of enhancing a Pokémon's foundational potential, and this effect could be stacked.

Otherwise, if Ultimate treasure's properties could be stacked, given the number of Ultimate treasures Kleavor had likely used over the millennia, even Metagross might not have been able to defeat it.

Duraludon patted its body. After eating the Gold Berry, the effect was very obvious—it felt that its foundation had become much stronger.

Aegislash beside it felt the same way.

This feeling was not only due to the Gold Berry being an Ultimate treasure but also because they had used very few Ultimate treasures before.

After all, they were members of the second team. If suitable Ultimate treasures were available, Julian had always prioritized the main team. Only when an Ultimate treasure didn’t suit the main team would it be passed to the second team.

There was no helping it. Trainers might claim to treat all their Pokémon equally, but everyone knew that when it came to distributing resources, true fairness was nearly impossible.

Even if you had two cats at home and loved them both, deep down, you’d still favor one a little more than the other.

With Pokémon training, it was even more pronounced.

The exceptional ones received doubled resource investment, while mediocre ones naturally received less, or even none at all.

Some trainers even chose to abandon Pokémon with relatively mediocre potential in order to reduce resource consumption.

Although all countries had established relevant laws long ago that prohibited abandoning Pokémon, and severe punishment would be imposed once discovered, such things still happened repeatedly despite the bans, because the methods for discarding Pokémon could be extremely simple.

One only needed to enter a secret realm, abandon the Pokémon there, then crush its Poké Ball. After coming out, as long as they told the Trainers Association that their Pokémon had died in battle inside the secret realm, or had succumbed to severe injuries, the information of that Pokémon could be deregistered.

Of course, the prerequisite was that no one discovered what you had done. Otherwise, if someone reported it to the Trainers Association and had evidence, it would be enough for that trainer who abandoned the Pokémon to spend several years behind bars.

However, being caught was relatively rare. If you planned to abandon a Pokémon, you would definitely observe the surroundings carefully and only choose to do so after confirming that no one was around.

Naturally, such actions must never be discovered by your other Pokémon. Otherwise, their trust in you would fracture.

If you could abandon one today, could you abandon it tomorrow? Then why should it fight for you, get injured for you, or risk its life for you?
