Chapter 896: Chapter 1113: Consecutive Wins
"Unbelievable. How is it that seven out of every ten videos I scroll past are about this blockhead?"
On the sofa, Celebi angrily tossed its phone aside.
After breakfast, it had planned to happily scroll through short videos for a while. Instead, most of the content was edited clips of Julian's special guest performance at the Grand Festival Finals.
Almost every single video had over a hundred thousand likes.
As for the comments? Celebi couldn't even bear to look. They were all shameless bootlickers.
Was this blockhead really that great?
Obviously not.
Celebi tried to block this type of recommended content, but the block function simply wouldn't work. At first, it even thought the feature was broken.
So it switched to a fishing video—that one could be blocked just fine.
But the moment it switched back to a video about Julian… it couldn't block it again.
"Ahhh! This blockhead has gone too far! I can't even block him? Is he trying to annoy me to death?!" Celebi nearly went berserk.
"I think it's great. Julian was really super awesome!"
Unlike Celebi, Jirachi was happily scrolling through Julian's videos, liking every single one. It even made sure to like the top comment under each video.
"Jirachi, he's not even here. He can't hear you praising him like that."
Celebi looked at its little buddy with some vigilance. When it came to flattery, this guy's skills were also very profound.
Julian indeed wasn't home. He had gone out right after breakfast.
During the Grand Festival Finals a few days ago, one of the five judges—Principal Simon of Lake University—had invited Julian to visit the university when he had time and share some experiences with the students.
Since his own mother was currently teaching at Lake University, Julian naturally agreed.
Of course, when he actually went would be entirely up to him—and there was a high probability he would forget about it afterward.
But this time, he hadn't forgotten. Not because he had a good memory.
And certainly not because he was especially committed to keeping promises.
It was because of the daily mission.
---
"Ding~"
"Daily mission released."
"Mission objective: Win one hundred consecutive battles with a single Pokémon."
"Mission reward: 300,000 points, Mewtwo Fragments x2."
---
The points were secondary; what really mattered were the Mewtwo Fragments.
At present, Julian already had 86 Mewtwo Fragments. And this was the first time in nearly two years that Mewtwo Fragments had appeared again in the daily mission rewards.
It got Julian excited for quite a while.
Even though the reward was only two fragments, it still meant he was one step closer to one hundred.
As for the mission requirement—one hundred consecutive wins—it reminded him of his agreement with Principal Simon.
Guide the students?
For a Trainer, what was the best form of guidance?
Battle, of course.
So Julian came to Lake University and set up a challenge arena, welcoming all Advanced- to pseudo–Elite–level Trainers to challenge him in 1v1 battles.
His arrival naturally caused a sensation across the campus.
Especially since it hadn't been long since the Grand Festival Finals had ended, and the buzz surrounding him was still sky-high.
Even the Finals Champion's popularity ranked outside the top ten in comparison.

The Pokémon Julian sent out was Bisharp, the evolved form of Pawniard.
Given the levels of his Pokémon, Bisharp was the only one appropriate for use in a university setting. The rest were all Elite-level or above; sending them out would have been outright bullying.
But even though Bisharp was only level 55, that was still mid-stage Advanced-level—a tier typically reached only by third- or fourth-year students.
Lake University wasn't Imperial University after all.
At Imperial University, fourth-year students practically all had at least one pseudo–Elite Pokémon.
Here at Lake University, only about half of the fourth-years had reached that level.
Julian's targets were precisely these pseudo–Elite Trainers. Advanced-level opponents of the same tier would offer Bisharp no meaningful improvement.
"Scolipede, Stomping Tantrum!"
Bisharp was currently facing its sixtieth opponent—an early-stage pseudo–Elite Scolipede. They had already exchanged several moves.
Just as Scolipede lifted its body to unleash Stomping Tantrum, it was abruptly interrupted and forced down by a swift and ruthless counterattack.
"Your movements are too slow. Try having your Scolipede use Stomping Tantrum with its tail instead. Its tail is flexible and sturdy—with proper training, it can completely replace its legs for that move."
Julian wasn't simply farming weaker opponents for easy wins. In every battle, he would deliberately spend a few rounds observing whether the opponent's Pokémon had any shortcomings. If they did, he would point them out directly.
After being knocked flying, Scolipede failed to get back up.
"Thank you for the guidance, Champion Walker."
The challenger gave a slight bow before recalling Scolipede.
As soon as he left, the sixty-first challenger stepped forward.
---
"Isn't that Bisharp way too strong? That's already sixty-one pseudo–Elite Pokémon it has beaten. If it weren't for the fact that its aura doesn't feel overwhelmingly powerful, I'd think it was an Elite."
"Who do you think that Bisharp belongs to? That's Champion Walker's Pokémon."
"Have you guys noticed? Even after winning this many matches, Bisharp hasn't shown a single expression of joy."
"If you beat elementary school kids, would you look happy?" someone shot back.
"So you're saying we're elementary school kids in Bisharp's eyes? That's a bit much—we're pseudo–Elites!"
"Then what does that make us Advanced-level students?"
The surrounding crowd of students was massive—forming layers upon layers of onlookers.
Haley, a freshman in the Steel-type regular class at Lake University, rushed over when she heard Julian had arrived, but unfortunately, all the good spots were already taken.
But that wasn't a problem—she had her Steelix.
She sat directly on top of it, and from that elevated position, she could see Julian clearly.
In fact, many students further back were doing the same thing.
"Steelix, Brother Julian's Bisharp is seriously amazing! Do you think you could take even one hit from it?" Haley asked curiously.
Hearing that, Steelix very unambitiously shook its head, indicating it couldn't withstand even one strike—that a single slash would be enough to cut it in two.
"You're unbelievable! Can't you have a little ambition? Brother Julian also has a Steelix. One day I'll ask him to let his Steelix train you."
Haley lightly smacked Steelix on the head, annoyed at its lack of fighting spirit. Even though what it said was true, sometimes women preferred to hear comforting lies—even when they knew perfectly well they weren't true.
Steelix: 'Hah, what a hypocritical woman indeed.'
