Primordial Chaos Dragon Tower: Harem System

Chapter 1298: Black Flag

Chapter 1298: Black Flag

The moment Kent set his sights on the black flag, he felt dread. He felt like he was staring at the flag of death. It is tattered, with intricate white markings, some torn by a disgusting hole.

He had never seen anything like it before.

But while that is understandable, considering this is a vast universe, where there are countless unimaginables, the fact that just looking at the flag invokes the fear of death deep within his soul made him feel like something terrible is wrong.

The flag isnt normal at all.

Suddenly, the Bone Dragon became a terror unlike anything Kent had ever met, and he had met quite literal angels...killed even a few.

Then there is the demonic human staring at him.

He looked humanoid but with burning red eyes and a bony expression. He is also taller than 3 meters, with a long, bone-like sword in his firm grip.

The more he looked in Kent’s direction, the more intense the burning sensation in his eyes became.

"Tower, do you know what we are dealing with?" With danger everywhere, Kent didn’t want to move away to get a better look just yet. The fact that he felt fear made him know the flag and the demon human have what it takes to threaten his life.

[The flag looks like a Soul Flag, like the one you have. However, looking at the runes carved on it, this one seems to hold both the soul, living and/or the dead. It is something akin to a living storage but also a furnace.]

"A furnace. That is a new one," Kent slashed his sword back, cutting the head of a spider-demon that lunged from a web woven by thousands of spiders.

Looking ahead, Kent saw more of such spiders crawling and limping from one spiderweb to another toward him. Thousands are being killed, but they keep coming like a tide.

"Why is it a furnace, though, and why is that sucker just staring at me as if I owe him money?" Kent knew the demonic human didn’t show himself and the flag just for fun.

There had to be a reason, one he is not finding. However, he trusts the tower to find it.

For now, his best move was to farm more blood essence since saturating his cores was one of the reasons he came.

The tower had already given him a road map that, if he were to fulfil it before embarking on his journey to Elina’s Galaxy, he might not face too much resistance.

So he keeps killing, and as the pressure mounted, Kent chose to activate the second sword realm he had turned into a sword skill. Jest stole three, and so far, he has only used the first one. However, he saw the need to use the second.

Thankfully, he can use the sword realms like mere sword skills.

"Light Sword Realm"

Beside the [Broken Sword Realm], a light domain appeared, brightening the dull battlefield. However, it wasn’t a single large light like the moon or the stars. Instead, tens of thousands of golden orbs appeared in the air, filling the air with extreme sword intent.

This sword realm was stolen from Sword Saintess Mirily, a sword god from the Golden Realm. She told Jest back then that if and when he reached the god realm, he should come to the Light Sword Temple.

In fact, later, Jest would learn that all the sword realms he had stolen were from people who, against all odds, had risen to the rank of sword gods during the era of Lord Genesis.

They are going to be good friends and later walk the remaining path after Jest reaches the peak, becoming the first Sword Celestial.

So, using a sword realm of such a legendary figure commands some power.

Kent gestured down, and the orbs transformed into beautiful yet deadly swords. Unlike the Broken Sword Realm, these swords are complete and incredibly dangerous.

They rain down, killing as many as they can while Kent keeps summoning more. With an incomplete sword realm, he was committing a massacre unlike any other.

[Well, it is bad, Master. You remember when I told you that when a person dies, their soul splits into three. Well, that was for mortals who hadn’t formed Spirit Roots yet.

When one who has formed their Spirit Root dies, a part of their soul enters reincarnation. One becomes essence that can be devoured, and the last becomes the Soul Spirit that travels to the Underworld.

However, there are two more. One is the Resentful Soul. This only comes from beings who have killed quite their fair share of beings. The more they kill, the more resentment they absorb.

This can also be absorbed, mostly by soul cultivators walking the demonic path.

However, the most insidious of them all is the Death Soul, which many like to call Death Energy. This one goes straight to Hell. Now guess what the Black Flag is doing.]

Kent didn’t even have to think twice to come up with a logical answer. "Damn. Does it mean the demonic human is using the Death Souls to temper beings inside the flag?"

[I am sure. This is why the master must kill him as soon as possible. Who knows what he planned on doing once he had absorbed enough Death energy?]

Kent looked at the black flag fluttering in the air and then at the demonic human one more time. Around him, a campaign of death is ongoing; thousands of beasts are being slaughtered.

From the south, Kent could sense three dangerous beasts coming. They had already entered the 80,000 km sensing range of the soul map, so he could see them.

"Just what is that bastard scheming?" Kent didn’t want to rush to a conclusion, not when he had just made a small breakthrough.

However, he had already seen to some extent an insidious plan brewing, and he knew the Temple Master of Annihilation had his hand in it.

There is something mysterious about the flag that keeps making him hesitate to act. However, as the Tower said, if he waited long enough, something bad might happen.

This leaves him with only one choice, and that is to confront the demonic human and the black flag.

"Should I unleash Calix and let him handle it?" Kent muttered, considering the idea of letting his soul warrior handle the black flag. However, the idea was quickly wiped from his mind.

He wants to use Calix when he enters the Void Temple. So showing him now is a bad idea. He knew there were 5 temple masters in the Void Temple, and even if one was bone-headed and had mush for a brain, the other four wouldn’t be dumb.

Showing a powerful aid like Calix this early will give them a chance to create countermeasures. Inside the temple, they are basically gods. So his surprise will give them little to no time to prepare.

"That’s it, I will handle it quickly and get back to my slaughter." Kent made up his mind.

Thankfully, the demonic human and the black flag are within the range of his soul map. So the moment he made up his mind, he locked onto the demonic human and teleported, appearing 300 meters away from the flag with sword raised.

"Huh"

Before his shoulder could fall down with a deadly sword slash, Kent felt a terrifying power come from the black flag, grab hold of him, and, without much resistance, he was pulled toward it.

"So it is a trap, and I fell for—" He tried to teleport, but his teleportation power was severed. His body vanished into the flag in the next second.
