"Smells like an apple." Kent sniffed the fruit. "I wonder if it would taste like one."
Obviously, Kent couldn’t wait long enough to taste it. His gluttony knows no bounds. So he placed it in his mouth and bit into it, taking a rather large chunk.
"Mmmmhhh, just like an apple." He savoured the taste, letting it slowly spread through his mouth and down his stomach. He quickly added the remaining half of the fruit.
In no time, he had devoured the whole fruit. However, to his disappointment, he only chewed for a fraction of a second since the fruit betrayed him by dissolving.
Although this is his soul sea, he expected to at least have the moment to further taste the fruit, feel the texture in his teeth and let the chewing take him to places he had never been before.
But that was cut short.

However, from what he learned about Dragon Tribulation, the stronger the dragon, the more dangerous their tribulation — and well, Chaos was the strongest of them, so he knew he had to prepare.
It was through preparation that he awakened the defensive skill he would use for the rest of his stay in the Blood System and for the rest of his life.
That shield had broken the resolve of many tanks/brutes, and it had saved him countless times. That shield is the Chaos Scale Shield, an innate defensive skill.
