Chapter 1311: The Fifth Floor - Haunted Village (2)
⟦Name: Planet Killer Dungeon⟧
⟦Floor Name: Haunted Village (5th)⟧
⟦Power Level: Spirit Sovereign - Heavenly Ascension*⟧
⟦Description:
↠ Two days ago, one of the seeds planted by the Dark Empress hatched in a small village west of Holix, the City of Light. In less than 48 hours, it had killed thousands.
↠ The Holy Pope of the Light Church sent holy warriors over when he received the distress signal. Thanks to his intervention, several thousand were saved.
↠ However, even though many were saved, the damage is already done, and the peaceful Lerma Village has now become a haunted city, surrounded by the darkness of the Dark Princess.
↠ The Holy Pope plans to lead a charge into the temple within the next 45 hours to eradicate the filth. However, he cannot be allowed to do that since that is a trap set by the Dark Princess.
↠ She wanted more cultivators with the light energy burning in their hearts to enter her trap, something she planned on using to evolve into a Dark Queen. When that happens, then all of Planet Yoppi would be covered in darkness.
↠ Your mission is to venture into the Haunted Village and eradicate the Dark Princess and her Dark Fiends before she evolves.
↠ Also, you must eradicate the darkness in the hearts of those touched by her dark, corrupted energy. Failure to do that within the next 48 hours will turn them all into Dark Fiends. ⟧
⟦Be ready for anything, since the amount of light harvested by the Dark Princess is enough for an evolution. Good luck⟧
⟦Rewards⟧
↠ 10 Billion Tower Points
↠ 300 Billion Soul Essence
↠ Limit Breaker Key (Everybody)
↠ Innate Talent Booster Pill.
Everyone sucked in a cold breath as they read the details of the mission. "This sounds like a dangerous mission," Zareth muttered, reading through the description again.
Even Vexthra nodded to his words despite her being a goddess.
"Oh, trust me, it is dangerous for sure." Uncle Drew suddenly stepped forward, making sure everyone paid attention to him. Vexthra realised he knew something, so even she started to listen.
When he reached the front of the line, he began to speak about the harrowing nature of the mission.
"Calling it a dangerous mission is an understatement. What the mission didn’t tell you is that the Dark Empress is no simple threat. In fact, putting a label on her is not wise; her nature is far more threatening to every life in the universe than one would like to accept.
The number of gods and the Supremes that fell to her darkness is just too much to even begin to count.
During the Dark Era, when the creatures of the Dark attacked this universe, the Dark Empress accompanied them, leading a portion of their forces called the Dark Fiends.
She led millions of Dark Fiends in that campaign, killing billions within a day. By the time the Night Riders arrived, she had already devoured several billions, turning them all into dark fiends.
A battle ensued between the night riders and her insurmountable army. After 69 days, she fell to my sword. However, before she died, she said something I didn’t understand until today
She said, and I quote, ’My invasion hasn’t started yet.’" Uncle Drew let everyone take in his words and the implications they carried.
He, like the rest of the Night Riders, has recovered his memories. However, he is still missing a few, especially memories related to some of the major universe-ending battles he fought in.
One of them is their battle with the Dark Empression. Thankfully, this mission had triggered the memory of that fateful battle.
"Although this isn’t the Dark Empress, as the mission description said, she is tied to her somehow, so we might be able to find something related to her when the mission is complete.
Naturally, that means this mission is now a priority one. And since the demigods and I can’t join you, Iwould like to remind you to be extra careful.
The Dark Empress was a dangerous opponent, and I have no doubt her minions would be any different."
Vexthra took over. "You heard the man, we are going against a remnant of an ancient past that even I haven’t met before in combat. This means we must prepare for a good battle."
Uncle Drew nodded, and so did everyone. He turned to Nara and smiled. "Are you ready for round two?"
The Veil lady who carries the seed of darkness smiled, showing she had also recovered that fateful memory. "Although she isn’t the real deal, the last time we faced her, I fell short, so I will do well to redeem myself this time around."
"Good to hear that." He turned to Vexthra and made a request,
"Allow only Nara, Saden, and Eryndor to fight the Dark Princess. All those with the Darkness Element can support from the side, and under no circumstance should anyone with the light element or holiness be allowed to venture into her nest."
"Why is that?" Val asked, clearly not liking this outcome since it doesn’t favour her. She is the Goddess of the Moon, so naturally, she has so much light and holiness in her blood.
The same could be said for Selene, Mara, Unity...
Uncle Drew smiled and answered:
"Many say darkness fears light. In a way, that is indeed true. However, in the case of the Dark Empress, light is her breakfast, lunch and supper.
She needs light to grow stronger. So if we sent you and anyone with a light element to her, she wouldn’t even have to lift a finger to render you useless and food for her to devour.
This is why we must only send those with dark elements. Nara and the other Night Riders draw their power from darkness, so they qualify.
You can even say light is her strongest ally, considering it renders the user weak when in her presence."
Vexthra took over, "The same can be said for Lani, Vari, Liora, and Indie."
Val nodded, but she seemed sad.
Seeing this, Vexthra smiled and said, "Don’t worry, while you can’t fight the darkness with the light at the source, you can help purge the one in the hearts of those touched by her vile energy."
Val and all who knew they couldn’t enter the nest nodded. Vexthra went ahead with her battle plan.
"Since it has come down to this, then like Uncle Drew said, Nara, you will face the Dark Princess with Saden and Eryndor. Lani, Vari, Liora, and Indie will support from the side, and the Undead Legion, with the exception of Kaizo, will be on standby to provide additional support should her Dark Fiends prove difficult to handle."
"Huh, why me?" Kaizo asked, his battle-ready face faltering.
Vexthra smiled and pointed due west, "You and Krex have a mission. It is not in the mission description, but it is related to it."
"I am cool," Kaizo said. Vexthra chuckled, knowing that as long as there is battle, Kaizo is down for anything.
She turned to the rest of her sisters and the Eternal Wrath Legion, "Unity will lead some of you to the city to go handle the curing of those infected by the darkness. Those who don’t want to go can come with us to the village."
They nodded.
"I will go with them," Miryssa said, standing at the back of the line with Lene.
"I will go with them too," Lene also said. She would love to see Nara kick ass up close, but she is a demigod, so she can see her, even from millions of miles away.
"Then it is decided," Vexthra said. Soon, the teams divided, and they went their separate ways.
