Chapter 1315: The Fifth Floor - Haunted Village (6)
There was indeed a perfect scheme hidden behind what the Dark Princess said.
During the Dark Era, when the Dark Empress arrived in this known universe, she found out that her power as the Dark Fiend was restricted by an external force, one that she could wiggle her way out of on her own.
The restriction prevented her from separating her body into its various forms.
This brought down her power so much that she had to resort to using her domain to create Dark Fiends, or at least that was what they were called back then.
Later, during her unholy conquest, she found that the only way to lift the restriction was to fall to the sword of a particular person... The cure for her curse was to fall to the sword of one of the dangerous beings who dominated the dark era.
"Kael Duskbane, the captain of the Night Riders." The Dark Princess looked beyond Nara and her team, gazing back at Uncle Drew.
"You primitive people really are easy to manipulate. Back then, many of your people betrayed your kind for their own gain. While you Night Riders were fighting to save the ’universe’ from the Dark Creatures, some of your powerhouses were signing deals with us.
They were helping us advance and take as much as we could. They truly helped us, and in return, we helped them also.
So when they told me the way to break my restriction was to fall at your sword, I knew I had to face the Infamous Night Riders.
So I did, and in the end, I ended up dying. However, that also freed me, and now, I can be who I was meant to be, the Empress of the Dark Race."
Uncle Drew frowned deeper, and so did everyone. If what the Dark Princess was saying was to be taken seriously, then it meant all the battles and killings that happened during the Dark Era were all for nothing.
Sure, they killed a lot of Dark Creatures and saved many innocent lives. However, the main aim, which was to kill the Empress of the Dark Race, may have ended in failure if what she just said was to be believed.
"So you are the Empress, not the Seven-Headed Dark Lion."
"She was my sister who willingly sacrificed her life for the cause. I was the one you wanted. But it is too late now. Even if you kill this body, there are many scattered in the universe.
I will always come back stronger, and guess what, you won’t always be there to intervene. Not that you would be leaving here alive anyway..."
Nara, Saden, and Eryndor frowned. But they weren’t the only ones. Even Vexthra wore a frown, and so did Miryssa and Lene, who were far away in HolixCity but keeping an eye on things.
What the Dark Princess had just revealed changes everything.
If she had indeed returned like she claimed, seeing her alive now, even if in her basic form, then it meant the main seed was somewhere else.
But even worse, who knew how many seeds she had planted over the many years nobody had any idea she was alive.
The implications are just too much to even begin to consider. Nobody saw her coming, and even now, learning about it, they would have rather not.
But now that they had become aware of the return and the danger she posed, the next logical thing was to make plans. But first, they must handle this version of her before things get out of hand.
Nara drew both swords and pointed the right one at the Dark Princess, muttering coldly, "This doesn’t change anything. Regardless of who you are, as long as the Night Riders still draw breath, you will never know peace."
With that, she charged forward, and an arrow followed. But that wasn’t all—Eryndor stabbed his staff into the ground and manifested 12 flaming summoning gates.
From within, 12 Hellfiends stepped out, their bodies ablaze, and charged forward, meeting the 12 Dark Fiends in fierce combat.
"Saden, you and Eryndor should handle the Dark Fiends. I am going after her," Nara commanded, and Saden nodded.
"Be careful, there is something unsettling about her," Saden said, unleashing three powerful arrows at the same time, sending a Dark Fiend flying back.
It didn’t kill it, but it sure sent it flying...
"I will be fine." With that, Nara stepped into the darkness, and she was gone. The next second, the Dark Princess jumped back, a long sword cutting her throne in half.
A frown appeared on her pale face, along with a deadly whip appearing in her right hand. Her tail whipped back and forth, forcing her to create distance between them.
However, Nara didn’t allow her to move even a step. She threw one of her swords, aimed right at the Dark Princess’s heart.
She saw it coming and managed to evade. However, just when the sword was speeding past her, Nara appeared, her other sword cutting a deep wound into her chest.
Blood gushed out as she flew back, crashing into a small mountain.
This mountain used to be a playground for most of the children in the then-vibrant Lerma Village, but now it has become a battlefield.
The next second, the sword that had been aimed at her chest reappeared, its momentum unchanged. However, this time, the Dark Princess attacked with her whip, making sure she didn’t let it pass by her side again.
She saw what Nara did, and as such, she wouldn’t let her swap places with her sword again. However, she underestimated Nara’s combat intelligence.
Just when her whip formed a wind shield around the sword, Nara was ready for a kill move. She raised her sword, and darkness surged into it.
"Midnight Cut."
A green flame ignited around the sword, and when she slashed, a thin crescent arc made of pure darkness flashed out and blasted through the windshield.
The Dark Princess tried to dodge, but her hand wasn’t moved fast enough, resulting in a rather decisive cut—one that sent her left hand flying off her body.
"AAAARGH!"
She screamed, but that was cut short by a sudden barrage of sword arcs, each flying toward her with terrible speed and deadly intent.
In no time, the mountain came crashing down, and her body was littered with all kinds of cuts.
"Weak," Nara muttered and then, with a decisive slash, she took her head off—or at least tried to.
Just when her sword moved and was about to take her head off, the Dark Princess spoke...
"If I die, all the people infected by my dark energy would also die."
This made Nara pause, her expression turning ugly. However, as if there were no better time to hear Unity’s voice, her words echoed in her head.
"I can’t believe Yuyin is the reincarnation of the Goddess of Light."
"Die, bitch..." The Dark Princess’s eyes widened when she sensed her connection to the people she planned to use as her shield suddenly severed.
She lost her head in that instant, and within 5 minutes, the whole battle came to an end... However, the main mission didn’t end just there...
Kaizo and Krex are the key to ending the filth spread by the Dark Princess... or, more precisely, the filth spread by the Dark Empress.
