Chapter 1317: The Fifth Floor - Haunted Village (8)
"So what happened when you got to Holix City?" Vexthra asked Unity. She was the one who led the team to Holix City to cure those afflicted by the dark infections inflicted on them by the Dark Princess.
Two hours after the battle ended, Unity and her sisters returned from Holix City with many stories to tell.
Apparently, when they arrived in Holix City, the villagers who had been transported there were being attended to by normal healers.
The pope, who had ordered his guards to bring them there, was nowhere to be found. He only had them bring in the injured and left them without proper healing.
So Unity instructed Elaina, Adina, and Runa to start healing them. Some of their sisters joined in, doing their best to help in any way they could.
After making sure they had a handle on things, Unity, alongside Yuyin, Mara, Camilla, and Ingrid, made their way to the Church of Light, where the supposed pope lived.
It turned out he merely used the village’s rescue as a stunt to win votes in the upcoming reelection.
From the little Unity gathered, the church had become divided when the former pope ascended to the immortal world.
The rightful pope to inherit him was conspired against and nearly killed. The one currently handling church matters was merely a usurper; he wasn’t the right fit for the role.
Of course, from what they gathered along the way, whenever a pope is sworn in, the divine power of the Goddess of Light is bestowed upon them.
Because of this divine authority, despite knowing he wasn’t the right fit, going against him was also not something they could do. So he had been ruling for 4,995 years now.
In five years, there would be an election to select a new pope after the church of light in the immortal realm intervened in the effort to bring peace.
Because of this, he had been doing damage control, and this current stunt was merely to appear benevolent in the eyes of the masses.
After rescuing as many as they could, they merely transported them to the city, only to dump them in a rather poorly maintained healing camp.
Unity and her sisters were pissed, so when they reached the Church of Light, they didn’t even wait to be allowed entry. They blasted the gates open and walked in like they owned the place.
A fierce confrontation took place, but the ladies quickly subdued them. However, the pope, with his divine light blessing, tried to use that against them. Naturally, none of them would have been able to withstand that.
However, the Pope’s decision to unleash the holy light of the goddess of light caused a shocking scene.
Just when the pope unleashed his blessing, Yuyin’s true nature awakened. It turned out she was once the Goddess of Light, the same legendary goddess whose light shone during the dark hours of the Great Dark War.
Even long after she died, she remains one of the most respected goddesses in the universe.
Although the power she received from her awakening was only temporary, it allowed her to strip the pope of his authority and heal the injured villagers, as well as the guards who fought against the Dark Fiends.
Thanks to her, Nara was able to kill the Dark Princess just when she tried to use the lives of the villagers to threaten her. Her awakening prevented a grave disaster, the kind that nobody saw coming.
"Looks like you had a wild run," Vexthra said, turning to Yuyin, who merely smiled. On her forehead now, the tattoo of a lamp could be seen.
Deep within her soul, the divine light that had given hope to many warriors began to burn.
"I guess I was at the right place at the right time."
Vexthra smiled and shook her head. "Say what you want, but know that the Goddess of Light is a legend in the God Realm. No god, whether from the Righteous, Devil, or Neutral faction, would dare disrespect her name or statue.
Her temple is still standing, and the millions of Church of Light still pray to her. Her divinity still holds supreme power over light.
So when you become a god, which I know you will, be ready to resume your role as the Goddess of Light. Trust me, you have a lot to do."
Vexthra paused and smiled. Long before she met Kent, the goddess of light was one of the few gods she liked. Even though she was dead, her light still burned deep within her dark heart. So learning that her soon-to-be sister was her reincarnation brought her joy.
She turned and looked at Unity before continuing, "Aside from the Goddess of Love, the goddess of light was one of the most respected, loved and liked gods to ever live... she still is, so be happy with yourself."
"Yeah, be happy, Yuyin. Once Kent is back and he awakens your True Names, you will start recovering all your memories."
The ladies nodded, giving her all the support and encouragement she needed.
While that was happening, Selene sneakily moved and stood beside Miryssa, her hand resting on her shoulder.
"I know what you are wondering..." she said, making Miryssa look at her.
"What am I thinking?"
"You are wondering if you also have a True Name."
Miryssa opened her mouth to speak, but no words came out. That was because Selene hit the nail right on the head. She indeed was wondering that.
Although she is a Universal God, spending these past weeks with Vexthra and her sisters has made her have many thoughts she never thought she would one day have.
One of them was their True Names.
She learned that they all had True Names, and while all gods can be said to have True Names since their divinity comes with a unique name, the True Names invoked by Kent were completely different.
She saw what the True Name did to Adina when Kent invoked it. So she couldn’t help wondering if she also had the same True Name.
Selene chuckled. "I cannot tell you plainly if you have a True Name. But what I can say is, all those invited to the Harem Tower end up having one, so be ready to strip and spread those legs when the time comes."
And of course, Selene couldn’t end a sentence without making her true intentions known. Miryssa blushed and ran from her, making sure the gap between them was wide enough to unhear more of her shameless words.
Unfortunately, Selene was not easily discouraged.
After a few more talks, the ladies joined the legions and started looking for the hidden clues that they mostly searched for after clearing any floor of the dungeon.
Later, they would return to the Church of Light to see if they could find something there, too, before ascending to the 6th floor.

[First Floor of the Void Temple]
Ten days later, Gaap had recovered his spent energy. Kent had also explored the entire first floor, and what he found made him super happy.
It turned out the void flame was indeed a high-grade Primordial Flame. He found the source where, if he wanted to form his next flame core, he could cultivate it.
The only thing left now was for him to clear the entire temple and find other flame-rich treasures and add them to this vast flame source.
"Are you ready?" Kent asked, looking at Gaap with a smile.
"More than ready."
"Good. Be prepared, we might get ambushed this time around."
Gaap transformed into his sword form and flew into Kent’s firm grip. He took a deep breath. Then, looking up, he flew toward the portal in the air.
