Primordial Chaos Dragon Tower: Harem System

Chapter 1526: The Rescue Mission (1)

Chapter 1526: The Rescue Mission (1)

Planet Skar is a demon-dominated planet. To the rest of the universe, these demons are called Beast demons. However, on Planet Skar, they are categorized into three groups: the redhorn demons, greenhorn demons, and blackhorn demons.

This naming was due to the color of their horns.

The planet has a red sun and a red moon, so the clouds are crimson at all times. In the morning, the sky is illuminated by the bleeding crimson of the day sun, and now the ever-crimson moon graces the sky with its chilling yet pleasant hue.

Due to the redness at all times, the planet has an air of danger to it.

Though it is widely known that demons are a race of chaotic, evil beings, not every demon is a danger to society. Some actually have gentle hearts.

This planet may have an ominous atmosphere; however, that doesn’t change the fact that not all of them are a danger.

It has three continents, each ruled by a Demon King. On each continent, there are warlords, with Warlord Biana on the Grave Continent.

The Grave Continent is home to the blackhorn demons. It is also the place where the mission will take place.

Their mission is to rescue the Princess of the Green-skinned Rabbit race.

She had been kidnapped by a Soul Temple agent and sold to Warlord Biana. So they are there to rescue her and, if possible, kill the warlord.

Three days ago, Vargus and his teammates landed on this continent and spread out to gather intelligence.

Three days later, inside an inn, Avotha, Vargus, Fero, Axiom, and Kailan gathered around a table to reveal what they had been able to gather. If it was enough to go on, then tomorrow, they would make their move.

Vargus took a large gulp of the ale in his cup and smiled. "Good wine."

He smiled and turned to face his teammates. "Can we stay here a few more days after we kill that bitch?"

"Why not?" Axiom smiled and nodded. "Though killing the warlord will be a bit tricky. From what I have gathered about her, she indeed has the princess as her slave. She is one of her main maids.

To get to her, however, we have to move through the inner part of her base, which has been reinforced by a Tier 26 Killing Formation. It will trigger the moment it senses an unfamiliar hostile aura, so regardless of how careful we are, it will activate the moment we make our move.

I calculate a 20% chance we can leave before it traps us. However, that will depend on two things: whether we can rescue the princess and take her into the tower before her master notices her disappearance."

Axiom paused for a sip of his wine and then continued:

"That would be impossible because even if we manage to take her away, the slave collar around her neck has been rigged to explode after moving some distance from her master.

So, regardless of how fast we try to remove it, we won’t be fast enough.

This leaves us with only one way to go, and that is to kill the warlord first. I can get us in undetected, but getting to her residence will be a bit tricky.

But even if we get to her, how sure are we that we can kill her fast enough? I may not be speaking nonsense here, but I believe she is stronger than a demigod."

Avotha nodded. "She is indeed stronger than a demigod. In fact, she is a pseudo-god. This is why killing her easily, as we had hoped, will be a bit of a problem.

Of course, I can take her on alone. But it will take some time to kill her, so we would have to rule out a silent battle. So, from the way I see it, we would be going in hot, raining down fire in their head. This then means that we will be facing more opponents than we planned for.

We will also have to be ready to handle the killing formation.

Aside from that, she has two immediate subordinates who are demigods, not any weaker than the average demigod. Then there are the twelve Immortal Lords, who would undoubtedly reveal themselves the moment the battle starts. The rest are numerous but weaklings from my perspective.

We can try assassinating them before getting to the main target. Once they are taken off the map, we can move in and face the warlord, her two demigod guards, and the 12 immortal lords.

However, there is one little issue that will prevent us from succeeding in our assassination."

"The formation," Fero muttered.

"Indeed. It would activate the moment the first target is assassinated. This means aside from the warlord, the next dreadful obstacle is the formation."

Avotha took a sip of his wine and let a faint smile appear on his lips. "But it would be fun. Going into battle knowing full well the odds are stacked against you, yet you have no reason to retreat...from my perspective, it feels like the life we ought to lust after."

Avotha is a bit crazy, which, from how it seems, Vargus and Axiom are on the same level of craziness as him. Hearing his words, they grin. Only Kailan and Fero shook their head in disbelief.

Then again, they are only the True Immortal and an Immortal King. They have no business stacking odds.

Avotha smiled and put out his plan, "I will take on the Warlord, while Vargus goes for the two demigods. Axiom and Kailan will handle the twelve Immortal Lords, while Fero will handle the formation."

"There is a chance we will die and end up in hell. However, as a sworn brother to one of the Kings of Hell, I am not afraid at all."

Vargus replied, "My big brother is the overlord of all of hell, so I am covered as well."

Fero, who hadn’t known these bastards for long, turned and looked at Axiom and Kailan. "What about you two? Any plans in the event you end up dead all of a sudden?"

"Not really," Axiom replied. "Though I felt insulted that Avotha assumed we are only qualified to fight Immortal Lords. If anything, taking on the demigods would pose a challenge we would love to face."

Kailan took over. "You would do well to know that during the Primordial Era, whenever we arrived on battlefields, the enemies ran like chickens. So no, we have no fear of dying...but even if we were to end up dead, we wouldn’t feel anything since we don’t have emotions nor feel pain."

"Very chilling, guys. But as you all know, I am a dragon, and as a dragon, I don’t see myself on the level of these lower existences. If my mission is to handle the formation, be sure to get your jobs done by the time I destroy the formation. You wouldn’t want me looking down on you all."

In what may sound like the most arrogant thing ever said, Fero made it seem like he would be doing the most difficult part of the job. There is a chance he might even fail...

While that is true, the fact that he claims to be a higher existence makes Avotha, who is also a dragon, smirk. They are both dragons, but he doesn’t walk around looking down on everyone.

"Just don’t die. The formation can kill a demigod and wound a god, so if you can’t handle it, don’t get close."

"I will be fine."

Everyone nodded. The mission is a dangerous one, perhaps the deadliest they would face for a while. However, Avotha is someone who can challenge even an early god.

Killing the warlord is within his reach. How fast he can do it, however, depends on how quickly he gains the advantage.

"We attack tomorrow at sunrise," Avotha declared. "Vargus and I will force our way in. That will bring out the warlord and her immediate generals. Once we engage them, Axiom, you will make your appearance by taking out as many demons as you can. Kailan will follow.

By then, the formation will activate, which will be the perfect time for Fero to join in the fun. Now, I want to stress that the mission is to rescue the princess, so if we manage to deactivate her slave collar, we should retreat to the tower.

We can come back later and finish off the warlord."

"Sounds like a plan," Fero responded after listening to Avotha’s plan.

"I am ready to rock and roll," Axiom nodded.

"Killing a demigod will make me happy at least," Vargus, who was already prepared to unleash flame and axe on everyone, beat his chest, causing a wave of energy to spread through the inn.

His friends gave him smug looks and smiled faintly at the people who turned to look.

***

While Avotha and his friends were finalizing their plan, a redheaded dragon man sat behind a table, a flame-infused wine releasing waves of steam from his glass as he looked out the window, staring at a black mansion not far from him.

After looking for a few minutes, he turned away, took a sip of his drink, and sighed, "Won’t be long now."
