Chapter 1761: Blood Ancestor
Chapter 1761: Blood Ancestor
Coming close to certain death left Lady Khronisia rattled.
She had no idea that the blueprint of a weapon he had never planned to craft just yet could cause her to nearly lose her life, had it not been for Kent saving her.
Just like most alchemists and blacksmiths, she wasn’t that skilled in combat. So while she might be a Demigod like the fifteen Soul Temple Agents, she wouldn’t have lasted a second against them.
And all this for what? Over something she had no use for...
"I can’t help but ask, why do you have the blueprint for the Grand Mage Staff? If I recall history correctly, the Grand Mage Staff was a weapon wielded by the Grand Arcane Heavenly Mage, Rohan of the Heavenly Dark Temple, during the Primordial Era."
Lady Khronisia didn’t seem stunned that Kent knew the origin of the blueprint. After all, she had seen how knowledgeable he was during the auction and the few times she had spent with him.
"It was given to me by my father, who got it from his father, and his father’s father. You can say it is a family heirloom since, from what my father told me, a blacksmith who was the originator of my bloodline was the one who crafted the Grand Mage Staff."
’Oh, so you are from Kallixtos’ bloodline, huh?’
As someone who had lived during the Primordial Era, he knew quite a lot, and one of them was the greatest blacksmith to ever live during the Primordial Era, the Golden Hammer Blacksmith, Kallixtos.
He and Chaos had been friends since he had commissioned a weapon from him before and had personally aided him with his flames in crafting a few others.
’I guess I now understand why the heavens wanted me to save her. It turns out she is from that old monster’s bloodline.’
Kent smiled and nodded. "Better hold on to it well, then. I have a feeling you will craft it sooner rather than later."
She only gave Kent a nod but said nothing else. She was still in deep shock, so she needed some time to process her emotions. In fact, now that she had escaped the first assassination attempt, she couldn’t help but wonder if it would be the last.
She even went further, wondering what would happen next when Kent wasn’t there to save her. If only she knew she had over ten shadow fiends hidden within her shadows, ready to go into battle at a moment’s notice.
"Kent Madson, I want—" Just before her words could fully leave her mouth, Kent pushed her hard, and the next second, she crashed into a chair inside a very stunning garden.
Outside, a sword arc cut through the ship and blasted it apart, sending Kent flying out of the universe channel, his body hurtling through space like a falling asteroid.
Inside the mountain garden, Pandora and her sisters appeared before Lady Khronisia, who was still in shock.
Before any of them could question her, Kent’s voice entered their minds, causing their bodies to freeze.
"Ladies, I am under attack from a Primordial. I will be fine, so none of you should come after me, especially not now. I will reach out if I need help. The lady there is call Khronisia"
"We have to go save him," Yukiko said, ready to teleport to where Kent was. However, Pandora stopped her.
"No. If he doesn’t want us to come, then it means he doesn’t want us to get hurt... even me. So let’s stay put and wait for him to reach back."
Pandora, who was also a Primordial, knew just how powerful someone like her truly was, so since Kent had asked them to stay put, they would.
Her sisters hated the idea, but as the strongest among them, they had to listen to her.
"Damn it."
Meanwhile, after flying for a while, Kent finally managed to stabilize his body. Just then, the void exploded open, and instead of a dark maw, a crimson one oozing with blood and the screams of resentful souls tore itself open.
From within, a man with metallic blue skin and three horns, one protruding directly from the center of his brow, stepped out. His deep black hair hung behind him, and his entire body looked as though it had been forged inside a furnace.
He appeared to be in his late sixties...
He wasn’t particularly handsome, but he was terrifying, and his crimson eyes held so much danger that the moment they met Kent’s, he felt as though his soul were being devoured from his body.
But Kent also recognized the man.
"It’s been a while, Genesis. Or do you prefer I call you the Slave Swordsman, Jest?" the man said, a sneer forming on his face.
Kent frowned and muttered coldly,
"Blood Ancestor..."
The man grinned.
"Why? Do you miss me?"
"Can’t say I have missed you. After all, I only miss beautiful things, and you blue-faced snotty-nose bastard is as ugly as they come. So no, I didn’t miss you even for a moment."
"Hahahaha!" Blood Ancestor laughed. "You know, considering how weak you are now and how overpowered I have become, it would be in your best interest to be on your best behavior, Genesis."
Kent spat out a mouthful of blood and straightened his back.
"So what? Are you such a sore loser that you couldn’t even wait for me to become a God before attacking me? Are you really that much of a loser, Gehan?"
During the Divine Era, Lord Genesis had offended many people, but only a few had come close to killing him. One of them was the Blood Ancestor, a high-ranking member of the Soul Temple.
Their conflict had started when Jest killed one of his disciples. However, after countless battles, it became clear who would win if they fought to the death. Jest failed to kill him simply because, whenever he did, the bastard always seemed to come back from the dead to haunt him again.
It was one of the reasons Kent didn’t want his wives to come to his aid. Even if they succeeded in killing him, he would simply return later, perhaps with even greater vengeance.
"You can’t blame me, Genesis. I have died 213 times by your sword, so I know that if anyone can truly kill me, it would be you. As the bane of my existence, it only makes sense for me to kill you first."
He extended his hand, and a blood mist condensed into a crimson sword.
"You can only blame yourself for using your Sword Realm this close to where I left one of my markers."
"Haaa..." Kent smiled and shook his head slightly. "Looks like I am at a crossroads here."
He sighed before looking directly into Gehan’s eyes.
"Your appearance wasn’t one I saw coming. However, I am not someone you can kill so easily, Gehan."
"Is that so?" Blood Ancestor smiled. "Tell me, how can you possibly escape with your Immortal Monarch strength? Even with your wings, you cannot run fast enough from me."
Kent merely smiled and narrowed his eyes at Blood Ancestor.
"You win today, Gehan. Next time, I will make sure you die only once... and in the most painful way possible."
Kent’s hand moved.
Before Blood Ancestor could even blink, Kent dug out his Chaos Heart and clenched it, shattering it.
Blood Ancestor’s eyes narrowed as he instantly moved. However, despite his overwhelming strength and speed, the resulting shockwave from the chaos heart explosion blasted him backward, while Kent was pulled away into a portal that closed behind him in an instant.
Inside the tower, a powerful wave of blood qi erupted from the thirteen moons in the sky before they all dimmed, leaving Kent’s wives deathly pale.
Their connection with Kent had been severed.
