Chapter 1800: The Dark War (2)
Chapter 1800: The Dark War (2)
Kent extended his hand forward, then made a grabbing motion. With just that simple motion, the space around Li Jian shattered, and a giant hand formed from Divine Qi grabbed hold of him.
Despite possessing Supreme Qi, Kent, with his deeper understanding of Divine Qi, decided to use just that. The results, however, were as he expected.
"Die knowing your family and everyone in bed with the Dark Empress will soon follow."
Kent applied pressure, and the giant hand holding Li Jian clenched, crushing him.
Li Jian tried to struggle free, but he discovered his cultivation had been sealed, making it impossible to even move his hand. The only energy left within him was the Qi that had remained inside his meridians before the seal took effect.
It appeared the Eye of Chaos wasn’t just for show after all. Kent had only scratched the surface of his abilities, but he had discovered that as long as his soul strength was stronger than his target’s, he could seal them with a decisive beam.
Li Jian was unfortunate enough to possess a weaker soul than Kent’s. Aside from that, he had also failed to sense Kent’s sudden attack, considering he was still in shock over how effortlessly Kent had blocked his spear strike.
Now, he could sense that his cultivation base had been sealed, making it impossible to free himself from Kent’s grip.
"Brat, do you think killing me will save you from my Jian Family?" Li Jian shouted. Then an item flew out of his space ring and exploded, sending sparks flying into the air.
Kent ignored it and simply replied to the threat, "What makes you think I would let them off? If they come, then death is the only thing that awaits them. As for you... die now."
His grip tightened, and like shattered glass, Li Jian’s body exploded...
Kent watched his soul shatter, and a smile formed on his face. Had he not sealed Li Jian’s cultivation, his soul would have tried to escape. But Kent had anticipated that and chose the most effective way to kill him, and it worked.
"Never underestimate your opponent, no matter how weak they may appear to be," he smirked before turning his attention to the auras rushing toward him.
Within a few minutes, thousands of Dark Fiends, each radiating the power of Demigods and Gods, surrounded Kent. Then more started to appear, filling the skies. Soon, Supreme-level Dark Fiends arrived, and without much delay, Celestials also filled the space.
Millions, perhaps tens of millions, of Dark Fiends now occupied the skies, the overwhelming pressure they emitted pressing heavily down on Kent.
He, of course, remained calm, his gaze slowly sweeping across the lineup of Dark Fiends.
Suddenly, a far more powerful Dark Fiend with pale human skin and unicorn-like horns, radiating the power of a peak Celestial, stepped out of the void, bringing with her an overwhelming pressure.
She scanned Kent from head to toe before asking in a language he understood...
Well, Kent understood every language that existed and every language yet to come.
"You are here to do what exactly, dragon?"
Kent narrowed his eyes at her, and for a brief moment, a hint of coldness flashed across them.
"Sending a Dark Queen to do your bidding, I see." He laughed. "Dark Empress, I am here to kill you, so maybe stop hiding and show yourself. Killing you will save me the hassle of dispatching this entire lineup of Dark Fiends."
Indeed, by killing the Dark Empress, every last Dark Fiend would instantly drop dead. So her appearance would indeed make things much easier for Kent.
Of course, Kent knew she wouldn’t fall for such a simple provocation, but he had to try anyway. Maybe she would.
But he was mistaken.
"If you alone have come to kill the Dark Empress, then I am afraid you will fall today."
Just as the Dark Queen finished speaking, a powerful pressure erupted from Kent’s left as ten Supreme-level Dark Fiends charged at him.
He smiled and shook his head.
"What a hassle."
His foot gently tapped the ground, and tapping into the World Root Chaos Scripture, root tendrils burst from the earth, stabbing into the heads and bodies of the ten Dark Fiends.
"Devour."
With a single command, the energy within their bodies was devoured, causing them to lose all momentum before slamming into the ground, dead on the spot.
"Let’s just say killing all of you will make me stronger. So why not? I am eager to test my limits anyway." Kent grinned...
"KILL HIM!"
Thousands of Dark Fiends surged toward Kent, their body parts morphing into all kinds of weapons. They had come to kill, and so they charged forward without hesitation.
In response, Kent tapped the space between his eyebrows, and for a brief moment, he closed his eyes. Then, with a gentle press of his finger against his forehead, a powerful fluctuation rippled through the air.
Just then, a vertical eye opened on his forehead, causing a beam to shoot high into the heavens.
BUZZZZ
The heavens turned crimson as the clouds parted, revealing a massive eye that seemed to cover the entire sky. The moment it appeared, every last Dark Fiend felt their bodies tense.
Then they sensed danger as thousands of beams began to rain down from the eye.
Kent had decided to begin this terrifying battle with the Eye of Chaos. The battle would probably last for quite a while, considering he could already sense even greater dangers hidden just beyond his perception, slowly making their way toward him.
He had yet to even scratch the surface of the Eye of Chaos, but he knew that using just this much of its power would be more than enough to deal with this many targets...
Thousands began dying every second, yet more kept coming.
Suddenly, one Supreme-level Dark Fiend slipped through the bombardment of the Eye of Chaos and closed in on him. However, before it could get close, Kent unleashed a bolt of lightning from his fingertip, shattering every bone in its chest as a gaping hole appeared through its torso.
More managed to evade the Eye of Chaos, but they were swiftly dealt with.
Kent stole a few seconds to look at the message before him.
"> <Your Limitless Chaos Tower is undergoing a True Awakening. Time until completion: 1hr 25mins>
Kent smiled, knowing that for the next hour and twenty-five minutes, he would have to hold back the Dark Empress and her army of Dark Fiends.
He was in the Infinity Universe, but he could not reach any of his legion simply because the tower was undergoing an awakening that would allow him to merge the Chaos Chasm with it.
This also meant that until it was complete, he could not summon his sister, Fiannarel, who was probably worried about him. The same for his seven Blood Warriors.
He knew his legion was still too weak for this battle. But he wanted them to come anyway, if only to get a taste of what they would soon be facing.
For now, he could only hold his own against the millions of Dark Fiends.
---
Meanwhile, far away on a planet owned by the Jian Great Family, everything was in shambles. Thousands of warriors, the majority of them at the God and Demigod stages, began rushing toward a space channel where enormous warships remained suspended in the air, with some already ascending into the passage.
"What is going on?" a Demigod who had just been woken from his sleep asked.
"Haven’t you heard? Lord Li Jian has fallen on the unnamed planet, and the Patriarch wants everyone dispatched there."
The God who answered grabbed his sword and jumped onto the window frame. "We are under attack by someone—or perhaps several people—powerful enough to kill a Supreme King."
He jumped out and quickly made his way toward the space channel...
