Chapter 1801: The Dark War (3)
Chapter 1801: The Dark War (3)
During the Dark Era, when the Dark Creatures attacked, the universe was thrown into disarray, plunging many families and planets into darkness so thick and terrible that many never returned from it.
The death toll was on another level.
Warriors of varied backgrounds fought for the safety of this universe. Many died, but some survived. They went on to fight in several more battles, adding their names to the pages of other history books.
However, if all these people were here right now, witnessing the kind of destruction one person was causing, they probably would never recover from their past trauma.
Kent stood in the same place, still eating his apple, while all around him, beams filled with both flame and chaos energy rained down on the Dark Fiends.
It was as if the beams knew who to target and when to fire. The more the Dark Fiends came at him, the more intense the bombardment grew. It got to a point where the very planet started to tremble under the intense assault of the Eye of Chaos.
Fifty years in seclusion wasn’t for nothing.
On top of that, he now wielded the legacy of the Chaos Ascension King, which had transformed him from a mere warrior into a powerhouse who now stood against a Celestial with an army vast and endless.
Many armies would tremble at the sight of such a Dark Army.
Yet Kent was merely standing there, letting the Eye of Chaos do its work.
"It will do you no good if you don’t unleash your full strength now. Trust me, I’m still holding back, and the consequences of me going all out would be the end of you. So try and kill me before that time comes," Kent said with a small laugh.
He wasn’t threatened yet, and with his Eye of Chaos in action, he knew he wouldn’t be in any danger unless something changed.
CRACK
Suddenly, the void cracked, and a Celestial-level Dark Fiend rushed out, bearing its claw at Kent. It moved with blinding speed, hoping to take Kent by surprise.
However, before it could get close to him, Kent had already moved 4 km away, and in his place, a rune spider drawn from ice remained.
The Dark Fiend saw the rune, and it knew what came next. However, it had no time to retreat since the momentum it carried was so great that it kept moving forward.
BOOOM
The rune exploded, and webs fashioned from ice entangled the Dark Fiend, holding it in place.
Kent smirked, then he tapped into the Red Bone Chaos Devouring Art and started devouring the energy out of the still-living Dark Fiend.
Up in the air, the Dark Queen who came with the first wave of Dark Fiends became pale, feeling a very insidious energy seep into her body.
She immediately circulated her Celestial Qi to destroy this energy. However, before she could, she felt another energy, now with a corroding force, slowly worm its way into her head.
"Submit to me," Kent’s voice filled her head and traveled through her soul, turning her pale face even whiter.
Right about that time, Kent had finished draining the Dark Fiend, and using the energy, he decided to tap into his Nine Ascension Mind Demon class, the same one Kevin Sage wielded during the Ice Era.
The energy devoured from the Dark Fiend was channeled into Kent’s finger. Then, in one swift movement, he drew a rune in the air and pushed it with a tap of his finger, sending it into the Dark Queen’s forehead.
"NO," she exclaimed, sensing extreme danger.
However, Kent, who had been a master of runes back in the day, knew he wouldn’t fail with this, not when his soul was as vast as a universe.
"As I said, I am still holding back. But let’s have some fun."
The moment he said that, he formed a hand seal, and the mark that had appeared on the Dark Queen’s forehead lit up on the foreheads of over 500,000 Dark Fiends, ranging from the Demigod rank to the Celestial rank.
Kent felt his soul essence drain so much that he could tell only 5% remained.
’Damn, I guess I am still not strong enough for this spell,’ he said inwardly, then he smiled before smirking.
’Regardless, I can just devour and replenish it in mere minutes. But I can kill a few of them atleast.’
His gaze lifted, and then, in a sarcastic tone, he shouted, "Let’s have some fireworks."
He snapped his fingers, and all over the planet’s surface, thousands of explosions started to rock the battlefield. Dark Fiends of all sizes and ugliness started to explode, each having no idea how any of this was possible.
The explosions reached their cores, making them akin to core detonations. And while intentional core detonation would be severely devastating, being forced to detonate seemed to yield the same results.
The more explosions there were, the higher the death toll. In no time, the battlefield had turned into mayhem, with devastation littering everywhere.
"BASTARD!"
Somewhere deep inside the planet, a woman with pale white skin, ruby-red eyes, and runes of dark magic all over her barely covered voluptuous body cursed, jumping to her feet.
She had pale white hair and an aura of death and decay around her. This lady was the Dark Empress, the same entity who, had it not been for the Ruthless Bandit, would have brought the universe to its knees during the Dark Era.
She sat back on her throne, a dark aura of resentment oozing from her.
Seated not far from her were six Dark Queens, each with her own unique appearance. One was an ant in her demi-human form. Another was a spider, followed by a lioness, a phoenix, a dragon, and a Dark Elf.
"My lady, relax and let us handle this. I am sure this person has a strong backing, but we didn’t spend all these years planning and preparing to be humbled by a mere Demigod," the Spider Dark Queen said, earning collective nods from the other Dark Queens.
"I am sure the Jian Family is on their way here. Soon, they will arrive and put this bastard in his place. But before that, I volunteer to send some of my enforcers to hold him back."
The Dark Empress looked at the Spider Dark Queen and nodded.
"Go ahead. If worse comes to worst, we will abandon this place. We still have some preparations to make, so this kid and whoever is backing him cannot hinder us any further."
"As you command, my lady." The Spider Dark Queen dissolved into a mist of darkness and vanished from the room. Soon, over a million spider-like Dark Fiends filled the air, each speeding toward the battlefield.
Standing far away, Kent smirked.
"So you are planning to retreat, huh? I guess I will have to lower my guard a little to buy time for Tower to finish her awakening so she can seal the planet, preventing anyone from leaving."
He kept the Eye of Chaos active, but its intensity lessened, allowing more Dark Fiends to pass through and come at him.
Extending his hand, Kent summoned Gaap.
He allowed the Dark Fiends to close in on him, then, with deadly swings, he started cutting them down. Soon, he was swarmed, but with his current strength, he wasn’t even about to make a sound.
