Chapter 1807: The Dark War (9)
The battle had entered a chaotic state real quick, leaving thousands of dark fiends and Jian Great Family warriors dead, some losing their heads, while many had holes through their heads.
It was never really about who had the larger army, but who had the better one and whose team had the better tactics.
Kent’s side of the battle had both, and it was all thanks to Vexthra, the Goddess of Hatred and Resentment. She had a good head on her shoulders, so she made sure that even if one part of their battle wasn’t progressing well, the other parts would.
Unfortunately for the Jian Great Family, this was the Supreme Realm, not the Celestial Realm. Because of this, aside from a couple of Celestials, mostly the Generals, Vice Generals, and Han Jian himself, the rest were Supremes.
By pairing them against someone like Pandora and Yukiko, who are Pseudo-Primordial, they were basically powerless before them.
The odds were too stacked against them. But unlike what one would think, even Vexthra, who, while she had long since grown past the Universal God stage, still hadn’t become a Supreme, found going against Supremes wasn’t a problem at all.
She had grown much stronger than she was during the Inaya Supreme Ascension Ceremony. Her near-death encounter and failure to save her sisters from harm had forced her to become much stronger.
She even considered becoming a Supreme. However, with her Primordial Spirit still at the True God stage, she knew she had to wait a few more months, perhaps years, before taking that step.
But she wasn’t powerless against the Supremes anymore. If anything, as she unleashed one arrow after another, they started to run from her.
Her divinity, Hatred and Resentment, was perfect for battles like this.
Right now, every death carried resentment, and every warrior had hatred burning in their hearts. It was as if she had found her domain in the hatred and resentment burning in the heart of her enemies.
As she fought and killed, so did her domain grow stronger, covering more of the battlefield.
But away from her, the rest of her sisters were also doing an impeccable job. After learning that Kent had vanished into an unknown realm, they had all completed their missions much more quickly and rushed back.
While they couldn’t do anything to look for him, they knew they had to be there when he returned. Unfortunately, he returned bringing war with him.
But they weren’t shaken, not even by a long shot. They had powerful sisters protecting them, so someone like Unity, who was only an Immortal Lord, had the confidence to shoot arrows at demigods and gods.
She never missed, not by a long shot.
"You know, this brings back old memories," a whip flashed across the battlefield, followed by bodies igniting in flames, some being severed in half.
Meiko looked at Unity, whom she had chosen as her little sister after spending time with Kent’s wives. Well, she was one of his wives, just that she hadn’t officially joined the harem.
That would soon change, though...
But she and Unity were now best friends.
"Big Sister Meiko, I feel like this isn’t the best time to go down memory lane," Unity said, putting an arrow through the eyes of a demigod and another through their chest.
Meiko laughed and unleashed another whip, spreading chaos everywhere.
"This is the best time, Unity. I had so much fun during the Flame Wars. To think that only a few months after I was reborn, I would find myself in yet another battle of this magnitude."
She laughed, and more targets continued to die.
Unity hadn’t known her for long, but she could tell Meiko was just like Kaizo. She was chaotic and loved battles.
’Speaking of Kaizo, I can imagine how pissed he would become when he returns and learns we fought in the Dark War Part Two in his absence,’ Unity laughed inwardly, already planning to tease the undead brute who loved nothing more than battles and chaos.
Across the battlefield, there was chaos everywhere. However, on one side, Neomi, the mother of the Killers, seemed to have lost herself in the slaughter.
This was a battle to kill, not accept surrender, so she had taken on her Shara form, wielding two short swords.
However, while one would see her as a mere Immortal Lord and try to take advantage of her, demigods were literally running from her.
It was mind-blowing to see demigods run from an Immortal. But they were, and it simply was because of the aura around her.
A few hundred meters away from her, Fiannarel, who had just severed the head of a Supreme, sensed a familiar aura coming from one side of the battlefield.
Turning toward the direction, her gaze landed on Neomi, who had one sword stabbed through the chest of a demigod and the other meeting the spear of an Immortal Lord.
"It can’t actually be her, right?" she muttered, watching as Neomi killed some more.
Every time she killed, with Fiannarel’s advanced sight and vast soul, she could sense that the souls of the dead became agitated, eager to run from her. But death wasn’t claiming them, so they had no choice but to turn into killing intent and merge with her.
It is mind-blowing to see death tremble before her, scared to take her kill from her.
Fiannarel continued watching for five more good minutes before she finally accepted that the person she knew was indeed Neomi.
During the Sun Era, she had the privilege of exploring a unique ruin from the Flame Era. While there, she came into contact with a broken spear.
She was curious as to why a broken spear could still look clean even after several eras had passed. However, when she touched it, she saw it.
Imbued into the broken spear using Killing Intent were the final moments of the Flame Demon to whom the spear belonged. She saw who killed him.
That sight and feeling sent her into a state of enlightenment, one that, when she came out of it, allowed her to finally comprehend Bow Intent.
But despite her achievement, she never forgot the feeling and the presence she had witnessed. Today, she sensed that presence again, and now she could tell Neomi was the redheaded demoness who had beheaded that Flame Demon and severed his spear.
"Just where did Little Brother find such a terrifying woman?" Her gaze swept over the battlefield, spotting Kent in all three forms.
One had long since killed the Spider Dark Queen and was now tearing through the flesh and bones of the dark fiends. Another was now a dragon, moving with such speed that wherever he passed, chaos and mayhem were left in his wake.
The last one had just arrived before a building and kicked in the door, revealing a hall lined with powerful Dark Fiends, each possessing the aura of a Peak Celestial.
Before Kent could make a move against them, Han appeared beside him, standing on a large sword with his hands clasped behind his back.
"Why don’t I handle them, Big Brother?" he said, gliding down with a smile on his face. He had been in seclusion long before Baldy and Inaya ventured into the Calamity Zone.
It appeared that, sensing there was a battle, he had come out to fight...
Kent looked at him and smiled as well. "But of course, Han. Suit yourself."
Han jumped down from his sword, and it flew into his waiting grip. "Well then, let’s see what you guys are made of."
Suddenly, the scene around them changed, sending everyone into a world of mortals. Kent sensed all the energy in the air drain away, leaving every Celestial feeling like a mortal.
His brow furrowed.
