Chapter 1814: The Dark War (16)
Han was what one would refer to as the Bane of Existence.
His Eternal Karmic Sword Domain was just too overpowered, to the point that even a Primordial found himself at a disadvantage against him.
Blood Ancestor could sense and feel it deep within his soul that the only way he could leave this domain and go after Kent was by killing Han. But to kill him, he would have to lower his cultivation base to the Root Saint stage.
Of course, by doing so, he also ran the risk of dying at the hands of the bastard, who clearly wasn’t going to make things easy for the almighty Blood Ancestor.
"We can also stand here and chat. I would love to know more about what it’s like being a Primordial with no backbone," Han taunted, and Blood Ancestor took the bait, something he shouldn’t have.
But he did, and his anger compelled him to move, which resulted in his cultivation plummeting until he was a Root Saint as well.
Then their weapons met, and for a moment, Blood Ancestor still thought himself a Primordial, anticipating Han’s body flying back with a mangled arm.
However, the opposite happened because the moment their weapons met, he was pushed back. But more shocking, and perhaps the most insidious aspect of the Eternal Karmic Sword Domain, kicked in the moment he was pushed back.
He tried to harness more power than what a Root Saint could wield to steady himself, but to his utter shock, he couldn’t. This put a frown on his face, and when he turned to look at Han, he saw him smiling.
"I forgot to tell you, but the moment you lower your cultivation, you can only increase it again after an hour. Meaning, I have an hour to kill you." Han winked teasingly, then spun his sword.
"I learned you are an immortal. But know that since Big Brother has given you to me, then one death is all I need to completely kill you. So please, don’t die easily."
Han moved, and Blood Ancestor cursed the day he was born. He had fallen into the trap of a mortal, and that pained him deep in the heart, causing him to throw all caution into the wind and attack as if his life were on the line.
Well, his life was already on the line.
Meanwhile, Kent was too slow to take advantage of the battered state of the three Pseudo-Primordials. However, he managed to get one.
Just when he rushed back, his sword moved, and one head flew into the air. But the healing speed of Pseudo-Primordials wasn’t something to look down on.
The other two managed to heal in time and retreated, saving their skins.
Kent moved forward, hoping to prevent them from healing, but he found himself surrounded by thousands of Supremes who came at the command of the Dark Empress.
"Damn it," he cursed, and then his Blood Qi surged, and his eyes turned crimson.
Kent had gone mad, and the effects of his madness began to show as he cut the dark fiends down. He had lost the chance to kill the two Pseudo-Primordials, but he got the Supremes and Celestials, who clearly had a death wish.
The Blood Sea Annihilation surged, creating a domain of blood for Kent to carry out his unholy massacre, one that left the thousands of Dark Fiends overwhelmed.
Amid the chaos, a message in golden text flashed before his eyes.
[You have unlocked the first page of the Chaos Ascension King Legacy Manual.]
He had no time to ponder it since he was already being besieged on all sides. He had already surrounded himself with hundreds of Chaos Scale Shields, but even so, he dared not divide his attention.
Meanwhile, 3 km away from him, Vexthra, who, despite facing terrifying Supremes and Celestials, had kept part of her attention on Kent.
She saw how frustrated Kent had become after he failed to kill the Pseudo-Primordials. She witnessed him come close to killing all three, but Blood Ancestor prevented him from doing so. Now, he had lost his chance.
She turned to Pandora and Fiannarel.
"It seems the person who attacked Kent, leading to him vanishing for 50 days, is back," she said, pointing her bow in the direction of Blood Ancestor, who was now locked in a fierce battle with Han.
"It appears so, but I doubt he will last long against Han," Pandora replied, and Vexthra nodded.
They were experienced warriors, so they knew when someone was at a disadvantage. Right now, Han seemed to have the upper hand while Blood Ancestor was barely keeping up.
"I wish I could kill him for attacking my little brother," Fiannarel said, a cold light flashing across her eyes as she looked at Blood Ancestor, who had been sent flying by Han.
"Same here. It took all the self-control I had not to go after him the last time." Pandora clearly wished she could be the one to kill the bastard who had made them worry about their man’s safety.
Vexthra smiled and said, "I don’t know about you ladies, but my domain has become powerful enough to kill even a Pseudo-Primordial."
Her eyes shone darker as she locked her gaze on one of the Pseudo-Primordials that had survived Kent’s first five forms of the Sixty-Six Hammer Art.
"You are probably biting off more than you can chew, but for some reason, I want to see how you manage that." Pandora patted Vexthra on the shoulder and added, "Just know that if you get hurt, you will be out of the race in this battle."
Vexthra scoffed and shrugged Pandora’s hand off her shoulder. "As if you wouldn’t be happy about that. But hear me now, my dear sister: I will not get hurt, because right now those two are more than furious.
Their bodies, souls, and minds are oozing hatred and resentment, and as it happens, I am the Goddess of Hatred and Resentment."
Vexthra flew into the air and retrieved her bow. A dark arrow appeared on it, and with a pulling motion, she drew back the bowstring. At once, a large dark silhouette of her appeared behind her, and a much larger bow materialized as well.
One of the Pseudo-Primordials sensed danger immediately and activated his defenses.
"Futile," Vexthra smirked.
Then she let go of the string, sending the arrow flying. The Pseudo-Primordial, confident in his defense, sneered as the arrow approached.
However, when it landed on his shield and passed through, his eyes widened.
But it was already too late.
He had defended his body when the arrow had been meant for his soul. The moment it passed through the shield, it pierced his soul, and that was how the second Pseudo-Primordial on the Dark Empress’s side died.
The last remaining Pseudo-Primordial narrowed his eyes at Vexthra and moved, appearing behind her in an instant. However, his fist never reached her. That was because the moment he attacked, someone grabbed it.
"Punk, do you think it would be that easy to kill my sister?"
"Indie!" Vexthra’s eyes widened when she turned and saw the familiar face of her sister, who had descended into the Underworld to inherit the position of Underworld Empress.
"Hey, Vex. Missed me?" Indie’s hand moved, and the poor Pseudo-Primordial, who had attacked someone he shouldn’t have, found himself slammed into the ground, debris flying everywhere.
"You have no idea how much we all missed you, Indie," Vexthra said as she hugged her, forgetting they were in the middle of a devastating battle.
"So you are now a Celestial," Pandora remarked, walking toward Indie.
Meanwhile, Fiannarel stood with a nonchalant expression, staring at the Pseudo-Primordial as though he were nothing more than a mere bug before her.
