Chapter 1815: The Dark War (17)
Indie left for the Underworld as an Immortal and returned as a Celestial.
But on top of that, she was now even more beautiful. First of all, between the time Kent left the Underworld and now, she had undergone so many changes, now sporting long silver hair that nearly swept the floor behind her.
Her figure had also become even more athletic, with a firm ass and a heavy chest. Indie was already good-looking even before she became the Underworld Empress, but now she seemed to have taken on an aura of authority, the kind that made her an empress, someone who commanded kingdoms.
Her eyes were shades of silver, and she seemed to have awakened a unique purple flame. Looking at her posture, one could tell she had become both powerful and feared.
"Tower informed me there was fun to be had, so I decided to come. Who knew I would be saving your skin, Vex," Indie joked before turning to look at Kent, locked in battle with thousands of Dark Fiends surrounded by a Blood Sea.
"Do you think he needs our help?" Indie asked.
Vexthra shook her head.
"Probably not, but we will help him regardless. But first, how are you, and where is Miryssa?"
"I am more than fine, and Miryssa will be here in a couple of minutes along with some friends. I came faster than them because I am the Empress. Crossing the boundary is very simple for me."
"Hmm, then in that case, go help Kent. You have some catching up to do, since we have been fighting and killing for half an hour now," Vexthra teased, and it worked. She knew Indie would go all out just to put her name on top of the list.
But before Indie could fire back, an explosion came from the distance.
Turning in that direction, they saw a vast domain of hair moving across the battlefield at a terrifying speed. At first, the ladies didn’t know where the hair was heading, but it soon became clear that it was moving toward Kent.
Before they could panic, they saw Dia’s terrifying figure emerge from the Blood Sea domain. For a moment, the ladies who knew Dia’s history and nature with Kent panicked.
However, none of them made any attempt to move since the moment she appeared inside the blood domain, her Hair Domain merged with the Blood Sea Annihilation, creating an even more chilling domain, one that made everyone widen their eyes.
"Leave them to me, Kent. I will handle them," Dia said to Kent. Then she moved, and what followed was the most chilling massacre yet.
Her hair turned into deadly blades, stabbing, slicing, and dicing through the thousands of Dark Fiends. Some strands turned into deadly whips, while most transformed into arrows.
The more she killed, the more devastating the Blood Hair Domain became.
Kent only spent a few seconds watching before he vanished from the domain and appeared a couple of meters away from the Dark Empress, who stood with a surprisingly calm expression.
All the people she wanted dead were alive, and more of her Dark Fiends kept dying. Aside from that, she had lost two of her Pseudo-Primordial Dark Fiend Guards, with the third one almost at death’s door.
Such events should have left her on edge, her body shuddering, her heart beating wildly, with anger and hatred surging through her body.
However, she seemed calm, almost too calm for Kent’s liking.
"You seem too calm, Dark Empress. What insidious plan do you have left?" he asked, a smile forming on his face. He had thought he alone would have to break through the thousands of Dark Fiends that had besieged him.
But Dia came, and everything was handled. Then even the Pseudo-Primordials were no more. The only one he needed to kill now to end the war was the Dark Empress.
But seeing her smile, Kent frowned.
"You know, I seem to have grasped your nature, human," the Dark Empress said, summoning a black staff.
"You are someone who faced the Dark Creatures, died, and reincarnated. If I had to make a guess, you were the Evil Combat Mage who stopped the Dark Invasion back then. Am I wrong?"
Kent smiled and shook his head.
"You are not wrong, Dark Empress. I was indeed the Ruthless Bandit, the one who stopped you back then and will stop you here yet again, this time for good."
The smile on the Dark Empress’s face remained.
"I have no doubt you will be able to stop me. I have already seen you hold back three Pseudo-Primordials and even come close to killing them with a single swing.
So trust me, I know you can stop me. However, you must be joking if you think killing me would solve your problems. In fact, killing me would only escalate things."
As she spoke, her staff moved, and a spell circle appeared. Inside the spell circle, Kent counted 250 nodes, and at the center was a much larger node.
Seeing this made Kent uneasy. He could sense something dangerous was amiss, or perhaps had already happened, and the Dark Empress was about to reveal it.
"It’s been several eras since your spell sealed me away. However, over the years, the Jian Family helped me break one layer after another. Thankfully, they managed to break the last layer an era ago.
Since then, I have been planning my revenge, one that would sweep across planets," she said, pointing at the nodes in the spell circle.
"Each node represents a world with less than enough firepower to defend against my Dark Fiends. This larger node is this planet, the heart of the formation.
I have already activated it, and right now, Dark Gates are opening, or are about to open, in those worlds. You can go ahead and kill me or keep me alive. Regardless, those 250 worlds are doomed."
The Dark Empress laughed manically, and Kent’s frown deepened.
"I will not compromise with you, human. You have already dug the graves of billions, and so I will show you the kind of darkness you have unleashed. There is no negotiation to be had, human. You’ve lost."
[Master, I have deciphered that the spell is indeed real, and she has already activated it several minutes ago. Killing her now will not stop the Dark Fiends as we had initially thought. However, it appears these nodes are linked to God and Immortal worlds, meaning the Dark Fiends sent there are not as strong as the ones here.]
’That is a bit troublesome,’ Kent muttered, narrowing his eyes at the Dark Empress.
"I will kill you now."
He moved and appeared before her. Then, in one decisive motion, his sword pierced her chest.
"This is where your journey ends, Dark Empress."
Cough.
She coughed up blood but smiled through the pain.
"Go rot in hell, Ruthless Bandit."
Her core ignited, and before Kent could blink, she exploded, causing flames to rise far and wide. A terrible shockwave swept across the planet’s surface, sending thousands flying through the air, with the unlucky ones dying on the spot.
Inside the flames, Kent stood virtually unaffected.
’Tower, can you reverse-engineer the spell and shut it down?’
[That is impossible, Master. But I can create portals that will take us to the 250 planets.]
’Do that. And while you are at it, see if you can locate some members of the Midnight Shadows. Also, inform the tribe leaders of the Blood Vein Tribe and the other races inside the Tower to prepare to deploy their forces.’
