Chapter 1833: Night Riders
Chapter 1833: Night Riders
With catching up out of the way, the main event came.
Nara would have to awaken the Night Heart and use it to summon the rest of the Night Riders. In total, there were 69 Night Riders, and today, if she managed to awaken the relic that would grant her the power to access the Realm of the Night, she would be able to summon them.
But that wasn’t all.
Once all of them had been summoned, they would venture to the Realm of the Night, which is located on the 14th level of Hell, and receive their complete legacies.
Basically, after this awakening, the once-feared Night Riders would return again.
Kent may have conquered the Dark Fiends and the Dark Empress, and he may also be in the process of conquering the Star Beasts, but that didn’t mean he could relax.
The Void Beasts, Foreign Races, Flame Beasts, Chaos Abyss, Ice Demons, and many more were still out there, so he was going to need his most trusted aides, the Night Riders.
So, Nara’s success today would determine the future.
"Not that we all want to put pressure on you, but success today will go a long way, so don’t fail, Nara," Vargus said, a smile appearing on his face.
His friends cast him dubious looks, but they themselves wanted Nara to succeed because failure was not an option.
She herself knew she could not fail, so hearing Vargus’ words, she took a deep breath and closed her eyes.
Kent stood back, a smile playing on his lips as he watched the Night Riders do their thing.
He couldn’t help but cast his mind back to when he first met them. Back then, the Universe Council had declared an all-out war on him, and one of the teams they sent after him was the Night Riders.
When they met, a great battle ensued, one that tested the Night Riders and pushed them to their limits. However, they all soon realized that while they had come to kill, the Ruthless Bandit was merely toying with them, waiting for the main targets.
It turned out that, recognizing the potential of the Night Riders, the Universe Council felt threatened, so they sent them to fight the Ruthless Bandit, whom they recognized as an even greater threat.
They wished to use him as a weapon to kill the Night Riders, and then, when he was exhausted, they would swoop in and kill him and the rest of the Night Riders.
But they severely underestimated the Ruthless Bandit.
He saved them, and since then, their growth has been explosive.
’Just 69 of them were able to kill a lineup of over 2 million Dark Creatures. If they inherit their legacies again, I am sure they will become even more monstrous.’
The smile on his face brightened even more.
’Though I wonder if the Night Heart would accept her, considering she is no longer a virgin,’ Kent panicked a bit, but he pushed the thought aside and focused on the positive.
’If she awakens and binds with it, then she can command the night. Anyone who isn’t me, Pandora, or the two Grand Shamans would be powerless to stop the night from invading their souls.’
Night Riders are stronger during the night. They mostly ride into battle during the night. Of course, they aren’t weaker during the day, either.
But during the night, they are basically immortals, or for lack of a better word, undead.
During the day, Nara, with the help of the Night Heart, can create the night, so awakening it would help them more than one could imagine. Every day would be a nighttime for them. But first, awakening it was the most important part.
Deep inside an unknown realm, Nara stood face to face with a loli, barely three feet tall. She was adorable, with cute, round cheeks and white hair much longer than her body, flowing down her back.
Gaia and her minions would love her very much.
For a moment, she held a frown on her face.
Then she smiled.
"What took you so long, Big Sister?"
Nara sighed, a smile forming on her face as she reached forward and pulled the adorable young lady into her arms. This adorable little loli was, of course, the Night Heart, or more precisely, the spirit form of the Night Heart.
"I missed you so much, Little Night," Nara said, hugging her.
"I missed you too, Big Sister. I waited so long for you, but you didn’t come..."
"I am here now, Little Night, and this time we will never part again," Nara pulled the adorable little lady much closer, making her smile even more.
"I believe you, Big Sister," she pulled her head back and stared at Nara. "When can we leave? I want to meet the other big brothers and sisters, especially Big Brother Kael. I miss him so much."
Nara smiled and flicked Little Night’s forehead.
"You just reunited with me, and you are already thinking about others. I am heartbroken."
Little Night giggled and cupped Nara’s cheek.
"I am sorry, Big Sister. I will spend more time with you anyway, so after I meet them, we can have so much fun. I have discovered so many places in this realm that I want to show you."
"Fine. In that case, how about we form the bond and, while we’re at it, summon the rest of the Night Riders across the universe to my current location?"
"Okay, Big Sister."
Contrary to what Kent and the other Night Riders were worried about, whether or not Nara would succeed, the sly lady, who wasn’t worried even for a moment, was now drinking tea with Little Night, which was their bonding ceremony.
They would probably be stunned if they witnessed such a sight.
Thankfully, they couldn’t see what was happening, not even Kent. But the effects soon appeared, and every last one of them was stunned.
Suddenly, out of nowhere, Night Gates started opening all around them. The Night Riders became stunned for a moment, then they all started to smile.
From the Night Gates, warriors of various races, shapes, and sizes started to appear, each seated on a hellhorse. Their auras varied in strength, with some being Demigods, Gods, Supremes, and even, from three of the Night Gates, Pseudo-Primordials.
Kent stood to the side, watching them all arrive.
After about ten minutes, they had all appeared, each standing at attention, their focus rooted on Uncle Drew.
For a moment, nobody made a sound.
Suddenly, every last one of them saluted their captain.
Kent knew the Night Riders respected their captain more than anyone, but when he first knew them, Uncle Drew was a Celestial while most of them were Supremes.
Now, however, Uncle Drew was merely an Immortal Lord, while some of them were Celestials and Pseudo-Primordials. But despite this gap, all of them crossed their arms against their chests and bowed their heads toward him.
Kent felt a surge of pride.
He wasn’t the one at the receiving end of such respect, but he felt as though he was.
Uncle Drew smiled and also crossed his arms over his chest. After a few seconds, he lowered them and said jokingly,
"It is good to see you all again, but aren’t you forgetting someone?" His gaze shifted to Kent, who smirked and waved his hand absentmindedly.
"No need for that, guys."
They didn’t listen.
