Primordial Chaos Dragon Tower: Harem System

Chapter 1834: Reunion

Chapter 1834: Reunion

Kent wasn’t really into this whole salute-and-response thing. He was more focused on results, so being greeted by all the Night Riders wasn’t necessary.

Regardless, he smiled and mimicked their style of greeting by crossing his arms over his chest and bowing slightly. This gesture put smiles on the faces of all the Night Riders present.

They recognised him as their one true master, who had trained them for years using the most gruelling methods known to man.

He basically forged them into weapons worthy of dominating battlefields.

So they appreciated him.

However, their main focus was Uncle Drew, who would decide where they should go next.

Just then, Nara opened her eyes, and a wave of darkness swirled around her for a few seconds.

When it cleared, the adorable Little Night stood beside her, her cute appearance making everyone want to grab her and play with her.

Of course, before they could, she had already jumped into Uncle Drew’s arms.

"Big brother, I miss you soo much."

Uncle Drew was caught off guard, but he managed to catch her before she slid off. Well, considering the mood she was in and how eager she was to finally see her big brother, Little Night held on to Uncle Drew with a firm grip.

Falling off his body wasn’t a possibility at all.

But one thing was weird.

While Little Night seemed eager and happy to have finally reunited with Uncle Drew, the latter had no idea who this little girl was.

In fact, aside from Nara, none of them did.

This was because, when they knew her, she was but a small raven that used to sit on Nara’s shoulder. She wasn’t a white-haired loli who was full of life and happiness.

So, holding her, Uncle Drew tried to accept whatever was happening. However, Little Night soon noticed the confusion and smiled before speaking...

"No need to be confused, big brother, it is me, Little Raven."

This time, Uncle Drew widened his eyes, clearly taken aback by the reveal. "Really..."

"Yes. I miss you soo much, big brother."

Of course, the raven they knew couldn’t talk. But it appeared she was intelligent and had grown fond of them. Basically, this was just one of the best moments of Little Night’s life.

In the past, she wasn’t sentient enough to talk. So she followed and observed, using the knowledge she had accumulated to grow stronger, and now, she was happy to have met her brother again.

"Wow, Little Raven has become much bigger now." Uncle Drew twirled her around in the air, causing Little Night to laugh and giggle, her hair waving behind her.

Kent, who knew Gaia and her minions, was barely holding back the urge to snatch the cute loli from Uncle Drew and initiate her into their fold, smiled and turned to Nara.

"Looks like we were worried over nothing."

She smiled and answered, "It appears so. However, things could have been different if Little Night hadn’t awakened when she did. Now, she is several times stronger than before, meaning we can finally get back our powers and continue to grow, unlocking more of the Night Riders’ powers."

Kent nodded, not particularly bothered.

He had already known that the Night Riders he knew weren’t at their peak, even back when every battlefield trembled under their feet.

They had hidden powers, and today, with the awakening of the Night Heart, they would be able to descend back to the Realm of the Night, located on the 14th level of Hell, and reclaim their legacies.

"I have to ask, though. Did you know something like this would happen?" Kent asked, looking at Little Night, who was now playing with Uncle Drew’s hair.

"I had my suspicions. Back then, during the climax of the Dark War, I sensed she had entered an evolution state. I never got the chance to examine her further, but that feeling remained.

Thankfully, I was right, and she had indeed awakened her spirit before we did."

Kent understood the feeling very well. He himself had experienced it during the final moments of the Flame War when he had to name his hammer and set it free by using his soul as a medium.

That gesture had awakened the true power of his hammer. Kent sensed that awakening went much deeper than what had happened immediately after he died.

He, of course, would have to confirm the extent to which that awakening and evolution had gone. But for now, he understood that the Night Heart wasn’t the old Night Heart he knew.

"Does it mean you can ride into the night again?" Kent asked, and Nara nodded.

"Indeed. My command over the Night has been restored, so regardless of the time of day, if I wanted to, I could command the night. However, I have reason to believe that when I finally reclaim my legacy, my control over the Night will enter a new phase.

Regardless, everything will be determined once we return from the Realm of the Night."

Nara turned to face the rest of her teammates, who, just as they viewed Uncle Drew, viewed her the same way. They all respected the second-in-command of the Night Riders.

In most cases, they called her Nightblade, but when she was acting as the wielder of the Night Heart, they called her Mistress of the Night or Night Maiden.

Her role in the team was vital, so they respected and obeyed her commands just as they did their captain. She might not be as impressive as Uncle Drew, but he had trained her, so they knew she was capable.

"Welcome, everyone. You’ve all been missed," Nara said, addressing her teammates. They smiled, hearing her words.

"You’ve also been missed, Vice Captain," Leo, a Night Rider wielding a saber with blood-red eyes, said, smiling. He stood beside his hellhorse, which also had red eyes.

Unlike most of the Night Riders who commanded green flames, those with unique affinities commanded different shades of the same flame. It came from the same source, but it took on the colour of their affinity.

Leo’s affinity for blood made his flames crimson.

"It is good I have been missed. But inasmuch as I would love for us to go on vacation and relax, you all have to know Night Riders don’t rest, so summoning you over wasn’t to give you a chance to rest.

The universe is at war, and so we are required. Recently, the last of the Dark Creatures were killed by the Chaos Dragon and his legion. But despite that success, there are more dangers out there that we have to address.

So we have to prepare, and to do so, we have to venture into the Realm of the Night and inherit our legacy. I don’t know how long it will take, but all of us here can leave at any moment from now, so we can get things done much faster."

"Yes, let’s go now," Vargus said, eager to become stronger too.

He could sense the aura coming off some of his teammates, especially the three Pseudo-Primordials. As someone who craved strength, he saw it as a challenge and wanted to become stronger much faster.

Even if he wouldn’t become a Pseudo-Primordial, he wanted to be able to stand with the rest of the team and fight like true Night Riders without looking weak.

But he wasn’t the only one who wanted to get going. Almost all of them wanted to go...

"Though I have to ask, won’t all of us leaving deprive Master Ruthless Bandit of the required manpower to handle whatever threat might emerge in our absence?" Mennal, one of the Pseudo-Primordials, asked, looking toward Kent.

"That won’t be necessary," Kent replied. "I have enough manpower to keep things going until you return. But even if I don’t, it isn’t like the universe doesn’t have its own warriors. If anything is to come, the Universe Council will step in, so relax for now and handle what you have to. I will hold down the fort in your absence."

She nodded...

Kent had the legion to indeed keep things going for now. Right now, he wanted to handle the issue at the Cult of Wisdom, then join a sect and participate in the sword competition to help him level up his sword cultivation.

He wasn’t worried about any invasion. If they came, he would find a way to hold them back. He just hoped they wouldn’t be gone for long.

Little Night jumped down from Uncle Drew’s arms and went to hug the rest of the Night Riders. After she was done, she approached Kent with measured steps.

Immediately, he knew she was afraid of him.

Honestly, he sensed that feeling from most of the Night Riders. His nature, as they knew it, was too evil, so it was a natural reaction on their part.

He was the Ruthless Bandit, after all.

Thankfully, before Little Night could despair, Gaia and her friends surrounded her and started playing with her hair and cute little clothes.

Kent smiled and cursed himself. ’I should redeem my image in her eyes since I seem to have traumatized her.’
