Sometime later, Kaizo, his team members, and the Green Bone Oracle were seated inside a private room in one of the most luxurious restaurants in Rex City.
The moment they settled down, she set her sights on all of them, this time with an intense gaze. For a few minutes, no words were spoken.
Then she spoke...
"You know, if I were to live in the Infinity Universe, I would be one of the people who had been alive since the Primordial Era. This shows I am rather old and, by extension, have seen my fair share of mind-bending things.
However, right now, I am finding it extremely hard to figure out how undead beings could reincarnate. The last time I checked, Undeads don’t have souls, so how is any of this possible?"
Kaizo looked at his friends, and for a moment, they laughed.
"I think you already know the answer, my lady, so why ask?"
The Green Bone Oracle sighed. "How is he doing?"
"Master Sanders is fine. He sends his regards."
"I see." The Green Bone Oracle smiled upon hearing that Kent was fine and still remembered her.
"Though I want to know, how are you guys still alive? I know you are Ancients, but the last time I checked, Undeads don’t have souls, so reincarnation is impossible."
Sylara answered, "It is true that we are undead, but the master wasn’t. He was half-human, half-undead, so he reincarnated, and since we were created by him, naturally, we were linked to his soul. So with him reincarnating, we also came back with him.
In fact, we never died if you look at it from a certain perspective."
"Unbelievable. No wonder the Undead Monarch hated his guts. His nature as an undead and a necromancer violates every rule in the books."
She shook her head and took a sip of her tea.
"So what are you doing here, Kaizo? Did you come for the things he left in my care?"
"Yes. We came for the bones of some of our friends, but he said we would need you for some of his treasures he had stashed away in one of the Undead Graves."
"Which one?" she asked, not too surprised by their reason for coming. A very long time ago, Sanders, the Bone Lich Undead Emperor, told her he would one day return to the Undead Realm, so she should hold on to some treasures for him.
Now, he had come for them.
"Banathra Valley."
Green Bone Oracle nodded. "I see. Then we will have to travel to the Supreme Undead Heaven since the entrance is located there. However, before we can do that, you twelve will have to attend the Wine and Dine event organized by the Baron.
"He sent me to personally invite you, and knowing him, he will try to pull you to his side, either by force or through persuasion.
"Regardless, he will, and you will have to accept whatever he has to offer. In fact, I encourage you to accept whatever he offers because, knowing him, he will go all out to get you on his side.
"But you have to be careful too. Completing a red mission isn’t something to scoff at, and the Undead Monarch will hear about it sooner rather than later. When he does, he will launch an investigation, and I am sure he will soon figure out your identities."
"We understand, and the reason we went all out was to draw your attention. That worked, so it was a success, but we will also focus on making sure we don’t leave too much of a footprint here.
"The master is not ready to return here just yet, and the last thing we want is to become opponents of that bastard."
"That is wise. So keep a low profile for now. After the Wine and Dine event, we will head to the Supreme Undead Heaven and retrieve the items from Banathra Valley.
"You should prepare, though. While my presence will boost your strength, inside Banathra Valley, I will be suppressed to the Supreme Stage, and as you already know, the dangers inside that place are things even Celestials would run from."
Kaizo and his team nodded. "We will be ready. We have a few weeks to prepare, so rest assured, when the time comes, we will handle everything with precision.
"That said, there is another issue we don’t know if you can help us with."
Kaizo said, diverting the conversation to something new.
"What do you need help with?"
"On our way to Rex City, we learned that the Third Undead Princess will also be attending the Wine and Dine event. I don’t know if you are aware, but she and Master Sanders were rather close back in the day, so she will recognize us.
"Of course, we aren’t worried about that. It’s just that the last time we met, she was fighting on her father’s side against the master, so we don’t know if she still holds on to her anger."
The Green Bone Oracle smiled and said, "Oh, she is still angry, all right. However, I am not sure her anger stems from Sanders fighting against her father. I think her anger has more to do with matters of the heart.
"That said, I am no expert in such matters, so if you want, I will organize a meeting between both parties, and you can settle this before the event. She will arrive in two weeks, so the meeting can take place in three weeks."
"That would be wonderful, my lady. Kindly organize that meeting, and we will take things from there."
The Green Bone Oracle nodded and took another sip of her tea. She was happy that Kaizo and the others were here. This meant Kent was alive, and considering how much she had missed him, she wanted to know more about him.
"How about this? Since your no-good master seems to have broken some hearts in the past, why don’t you all spend the next few weeks lying low? I will do my best to handle matters on my end and make sure none of the ladies who want his head discover that you are here."
