Chapter 1864 Regret
Chapter 1864 Regret
A wise man once said, "Everyone believes they are in the right until they hear the other side of the story."
They had killed his best friend and someone he loved, and so Chaos saw all Forsaken beings as evil. So he attacked, and he killed, and kept killing until he had to stop and handle other matters.
Afterwards, while he had no memories of his life as Chaos during his subsequent incarnations, that hatred was still there, and so whenever he met a Forsaken being, they died.
He believed he was right to kill all Forsaken beings.
But the narrative had changed now, and Kent, while he could still choose to believe he was justified in killing the Forsaken beings, knew he had made a blunder.
Forsaken beings, in truth, are considered evil because they chose to side with corruption, becoming existences that defy the order of the universe. So, in a sense, they are all bad.
But from the way Safira spoke, not all of them had succumbed to corruption. The Forsaken Snow Tribe hadn't succumbed, but he didn't know that, and so he killed without holding back.
Now, he knew he had fucked up, and that realization alone seemed to eat away at his sanity.
"It is not your fault, Chaos. You merely wanted revenge, and to be honest, there were many like you who came before you but died. You surviving is already a miracle."
That was indeed true.
Kent might not know it yet, but the Forsaken race wasn't weak at all.
Whoever corrupted them had granted them a power capable of threatening the universe. The only reason they never succeeded was that the universe itself was fighting back, holding back the greatest dangers that could have threatened everyone.
Chaos was merely a weapon that the Forsaken race never saw coming. Their main enemy—the universe—had prevented them from dealing with him. But by becoming someone who had killed a great number of them, he had become their enemy.
What they never expected was what came next.
Chaos might have been brave enough to take on an entire race. However, in the background, thousands more wanted a piece of the Forsaken race.
One of them was Arien's incarnation.
She was someone who had harnessed the chaos unleashed by the Primordial Chaos Dragon to trap the Forsaken race for good. She didn't have the power to kill them, but she managed to imprison them.
So while Chaos killed, she sealed them, protecting all life from the corruption and infestation of the Forsaken race.
When Chaos stopped his assaults, she finally revealed her hand and did what should have been done many years before. She stopped the Forsaken race from invading any more worlds, and that was how the Forsaken race was finally defeated.
But were they really defeated...
The answer can only be given by the one person who knew the secrets of the forsaken race...Safira
"Tell me more about your Forsaken Snow Tribe."
"We are just like all other forsaken beings, but you can differentiate us by the color of our hair and horns. We have two distinct colors - blue and green.
The dominant color is blue. However, those with a much stronger bloodline possess green. We or all forsaken beings had existence since the time of the Six True Primordials..."
Kent furrowed his brow, hearing the mention of the six true primordials. He is the seventh True Primordial, but he wasn't born with the other six. Hearing about them is a bit unexpected but also interesting.
"Even before you rose to fame, the forsaken race had the power to take over the entire universe. The only hindrance was the fact that the universe held us back. But aside from that, my leader also stood in the way of the other two tribes.
We value peace, and so we fought for it.
It's been so many years, so I don't know what's happened, but if you want, I can take you to my leader. And don't worry, if she wanted you dead, you would have long since died."
Kent smiled, not knowing if he should be grateful or sad. Learning there is more to the forsaken race is just a classic twist that he didn't see coming, yet it makes sense.
"Before I accept to meet your leader, first, tell me why she never stopped them from barnishing you to Amon's Guillotine Cave."
"That was because she wasn't around, and I doubt she even knew. I was merely a low-level forsaken seer, so it would be normal if she had no idea who I am and what had happened to me.
Plus, I was imprisoned by the Forsaken Blood Tribe, so there isn't much to expect. But I know she would love to meet you."
"I will think about it. For now, making sure you are okay and settled in is of the utmost importance."
Safira nodded, not hating the arrangement at all. She had suffered a great deal during her time in Amon's Guillotine Cave, so having a time to relax and recover surely does sound good.
Luckily for Kent, he has more than enough women in his life who would make sure her stay in the tower feels amazing.
The bonding meter had already reached 70%, showing the conversation they had had atleast brought them together somehow.
Kent isn't fond of apologizing for everything. However, how he feels and behaves says alot about his true intentions and feelings. That alone is enough to point at a much bigger picture...
He is also a living being with feelings. Because of that, he also has regrets, and right now, he regrets some of his actions during the Primordial Era.
But he wouldn't make the same mistakes this time around.
After spending some time talking, Kent took Safira on a tour of the tower, showing her places like the Tower cities, where millions are now leaving.
Tower had also become more advanced after her upgrade, so they had many places to cover.
Thankfully, Kent had no plans to leave her hanging until she had fully settled in.
Two months later, the Bond meter had finally reached 100%, and Kent's fate had been fully restored.
Dia's awakening began...
