Chapter 1865 Power of a Heart Demon
Chapter 1865 Power of a Heart Demon
Kent had already been made aware that the day his fate was complete, the heart demon that had plagued him his entire life would finally be purged.
That heart demon had been Dia all along.
She first revealed herself during the Primordial Era, and she had followed him throughout his 13 lives. So he knew that with Safira back, it was only a matter of time before things happened.
What he never expected, however, was the sudden awakening that took form in Dia the moment the Bond Meter struck 100% and his fate was restored.
The moment Kent's fate was restored, the power that had been planted inside her, turning her into a heart demon for Kent, awakened, and she had to fight to defeat it or be defeated by it.
Dia may have already suspected something like this would happen, so she had been preparing diligently, waiting for the insidious power that took her free will from her, turning her into a weapon that nearly claimed the life of the saviour of the universe.
At the moment, inside the Harem Tower, a large cocoon reeking of soul energy so dark and corrupted that when Kent and Safira arrived, they were both taken aback by it.
Safira was left rather shocked because she recognised the energy emanating from the cocoon.
"This energy is similar to the Founders," she muttered, holding Kent's hand.
"The Founders? You are talking about the beings who turned your kind into a forsaken race? Those who went into contract with the unknown beings?"
"Yes."
Safira, over the two months she spent with Kent, had revealed chilling details about her race that made Kent question many things he knew about the universe.
Apparently, the forsaken race had three ancestors known as the Founders. They were still alive, but from what she had been told, they were not within this universe.
Kent was already aware of the Primordial Chaos, so he knew they were there, just like many ancient powerhouses that this universe couldn't contain anymore.
He had met a few during his 13 reincarnations.
However, from what Safira said, if they were indeed the Founders of the forsaken race, then in the near future, they would return, and when they did, he would have to fight them, at least two of them.
Hearing that the power they commanded was now coming from Dia's cocoon told Kent two things.
First, either they had a hand in turning Dia into a heart demon to infect him, or they did not.
They had every reason to harm him, after all. He was hunting down their people, slaughtering them, so killing him was the most logical path they could take.
So they may have infected Dia since they couldn't kill him personally, and she, in turn, infected Chaos. What they never accounted for was that Chaos had an incomplete fate, and so their plans failed.
But for some reason, Kent doubted they were responsible.
He reached this conclusion because when they first learned that Dia had no fate or destiny, since it had been stolen from her, Gaia stopped them from finding out who was responsible.
She warned them that discovering the truth would end in their deaths.
He had learned about the Founders' existence, yet he didn't even feel a thing, not even a death threat.
This meant the second possibility was that the same people who corrupted the forsaken race were responsible for Dia becoming a heart demon. That meant they were aware of Kent's existence and that they knew he was the Chaos Ascension King.
This told Kent he was dealing with beings far more dreadful than any horror he had faced so far.
If they were indeed the ones responsible, then he knew Dia was in for a rough time; perhaps she might not survive this.
Not that he had any plan to watch her die. Kent had also been preparing for this very moment, for he knew that if he wanted answers about why he had been targeted, he had to make sure Dia survived this.
"Give me a minute, Safira."
Kent walked toward the cocoon, surrounded by his wives, who were all rooting for Dia to come out as the winner.
"Relax, ladies. She will be fine."
Maybe if this had been before he started inheriting the legacy of the Chaos Ascension King, he wouldn't have sounded so calm. But things were different now.
"But you all might want to step back a couple of meters, perhaps a kilometer if you don't want to pass out and miss out on all the fun."
Some of them blinked, wondering if Kent possessed the power to force them to pass out. The answer was yes, so they didn't argue, each flying back.
"Hmmmm."
Kent took a deep breath, and then he closed his eyes. When he snapped them open, thousands of eyes snapped open behind him, each exuding intense killing intent.
At once, the color in the air was drained, and the bone-chilling killing intent filling the space around Kent started to congregate at one point. It took a few seconds, but then all the killing intent in the air formed into a ball of colorless energy.
Kent gestured forward, and it transformed into a small bracelet. Then, harnessing the power of evil qi, he thrust his hand into the cocoon and placed the bracelet on Dia's arm.
He teleported away immediately, and the next second, a bone-chilling corrupted qi mixed with soul qi exploded out of the cocoon. The entire Harem Tower trembled under the weight of what was coming.
"Oh, this will be fun," Kent smiled, watching as the cocoon started to struggle against something. He, of course, knew what that thing was, but he allowed himself to experience it all over again.
Suddenly, a large strand of pale white hair shot out of the cocoon, taking the form of a sword. The moment the first strand burst out, more followed, piercing the cocoon, each filled with intense killing intent.
The cocoon, almost as if it were a sentient being, struggled against the overwhelming attacks of the Hair Domain Dia had cultivated during the Divine Era.
Perhaps it had been given to her by the beings who turned her into a heart demon. They gave her that much power to alter the life of the Primordial Chaos Dragon.
However, today she was reclaiming that power, finally accepting her nature as a heart demon...
