Chapter 1867 Face of Corruption
Chapter 1867 Face of Corruption
Kent knew with absolute certainty that if Dia finally managed to break free from the hold the unknown beings had on her, their final play would be to threaten him.
He had seen this play out many times, so he knew they would act.
He was prepared for them, though, for he had no plans to let them go without telling them a piece of his mind. They had messed with Dia's life and, by extension, his. So they had to understand that when it came to him, nobody was beyond reproach.
Looking into Dia's eyes solved the issue, though.
They came for him, and so while the others were all staring at her, he seemed to see beyond that.
His body froze on the outside, and his soul vanished from his body and entered a very dark realm, appearing in an eerie space.
He immediately felt his bones tingle the moment he appeared there.
"They always choose the dark and twisted places for their meetings," Kent smirked. "How expected of beings said to be ancient horrors."
The mockery in his tone filled the place, echoing as he spoke.
Suddenly, a pair of green eyes lit up in the darkness, sending waves of bone-chilling feeling through the space. Kent felt his soul tremble; however, he stood his ground, for his soul was far more solid and potent than it used to be.
"You once used to be the most dreadful dragon in all of the Primordial Chaos. Now, look at you. I can kill you with a mere flick of my finger," a rushed and mangled voice spoke, causing the space to tremble.
Kent felt that if this voice had been heard up close, he would have died. Though horrible, he could sense a rather terrible corrupted Dao filled within it. This told him he was dealing with beings far beyond his current level of power.
But he wasn't weak, nor was he afraid of them.
"Big talk, yet here we are, me standing and you hiding behind darkness." Kent grinned, and as if to test something, he added, "I dare you to show your face and reveal your body."
Of course, his taunt fell on deaf ears, for Kent had already suspected that the person behind the voice couldn't come face to face with him without triggering something dangerous, even if they wouldn't dare offend.
But by confirming his suspicion, Kent grew bolder, and so he began to threaten them for real...
"Now, before I tell you how ugly you are, allow me to say this... I am highly disappointed in you bunch. Honestly, beings who created the Forsaken Race could have done better.
In fact, I look down on you. I spit on your graves. I am disappointed in your mother for wasting her time giving birth to useless things such as yourselves.
To kill me, a mere dragon, you had to use a proxy. I mean, what kind of loser even came up with such an idea? Horrors such as yourself could have done better.
I, the Primordial Chaos Dragon, had the power of an entire universe, and you thought a heart demon would be enough to kill me. Honestly, you are all useless at this point.
But I commend you for finally making me see what is beyond my reach. I honestly wouldn't have gotten to where I am if not for you motivating me to strive and reach higher.
So thank you, losers. Next time, instead of using useless tricks to face me, come against me, and let's do it face-to-face. I for sure would love to see the face of corruption and spit on it."
A chuckle ended the sentence, leaving the dark space eerily quiet, with a sudden sense of corruption blanketing the place.
They were furious, and they had every right to be.
Kent had gone overboard, and that alone pointed to one thing in particular: they weren't happy, but they were also powerless.
One could say the reason Kent was so loose with his words was that he knew they could not touch him. As they said, it is harmless to stick your fingers into a fangless tiger.
"I see you feel bold now. Good. One day, when we meet, we shall see who has the last laugh."
Kent laughed, holding his stomach. "Are you sure you are even the masters of corruption? You sound more like an underground artist. If I didn't know better, I would say you are merely small fries in a very powerful and dreadful game.
Perhaps your master will be a pleasant chat, since the threat you give is just empty."
Kent took a step forward, approaching the green eyes. Of course, he maintained a certain distance so he wouldn't accidentally wound his soul.
"Allow me to show you how it is done." The smile on his face vanished, and his tone turned cold. "Growing up, there was a certain tribe that drew its power from ashes and smoke. They grew stronger whenever there was fire and thick smoke.
Great guys with a peculiar take on power. However, they were also the worst kind of evil I have ever met. They believed that as long as there was fire, they would never run out, so they didn't really pay attention to how they killed.
I witnessed them burn an entire city to the ground just because they wanted to have a taste of the smoke they produced. I mean, who does that?"
"Is there a point to this?" the corruption asked, and Kent grinned.
"Oh, but there is. You see, I recently recovered a part of my legacy that allows me to devour, like devour everything and anything. Now, I keep wondering, how would it taste to devour corruption?
Would it taste sour, bitter, or sweet? I do hope it is sweet because, guess what, I will devour every last one of you, and using your power, I will go further and devour everything, including your Forsaken Race.
But fear not. I know you guys are terrified of the Chaos Ascension King. Luckily for you, I am the Primordial Chaos Dragon, the real deal. So when the time comes, and we meet, we will have a proper discussion..." Kent laughed and turned away from the green eyes.
He then turned sideways and said, "On second thought, you should fear me the most."
