Chapter 853: Strange Behaviour, Day of the Duel
Chapter 853: Strange Behaviour, Day of the Duel
[Lady Enzi’s Floating Island- Supreme Immortal Sect]
"Was offering your disciples seeded candidacy spot as the wager really necessary?" Lady Enzi asked, looking at Lady Liora with a strange expression.
She was already aware of the arrangement between Kent and her, so she wasn’t surprised when Lady Liora made the duel official.
The only thing she didn’t expect was Lady Liora putting the Pill Princess’s seeded candidacy at stake by using it as a wager in the duel.
It was one of the many things every core disciple would kill for, so for her to use it so casually was something she never expected.
"I wanted her to feel what it was like to have something precious taken from her. Since the day I took her in as my disciple, I have given her everything she needed, in the hope that she would use it to become the best version of herself.
But I suppose that didn’t work out well in the end, so I wanted to try something new."
"But was offering her a seeded spot really the best way to go about it? It doesn’t sound like you, Liora. It felt almost like a different side of you had taken over. A much darker side of you."
Lady Liora was a little surprised to hear what Lady Enzi said. She was stunned to hear she had become somebody different to the point that the aloof glass lady even noticed.
The true her wouldn’t go that far—offering something that’s dear to her disciple’s heart casually to others.
"I guess I had had enough of her behavior, and while I kept convincing myself it would be all right, that she would change, I also started to lose track of myself."
Lady Enzi just sighed. "Maybe I should handle things from here onward. You have done enough, and it will be best if you don’t get involved anymore."
"Are you sure?"
"I don’t have anything to do for the next few days, so I will handle the events from here onward. Use the time to handle your affairs and get a hold of yourself before you ruin yourself and your disciple."
"Thank you."
"Don’t worry about it."
Lady Liora soon went back to her dwelling to handle her inner demons, while Lady Enzi would be taking events into her own hands from here onward.
As a good friend, Lady Enzi knew her friend was not feeling like herself, so she planned to sacrifice her time to ensure she got some rest.
If she were to get worse before she realized it, then the damage would already be done.

[Core Sect - Supreme Immortal Sect]
Words of Kent, scoring 89% in the Perfect Chamber, have reached every last disciple, hitting them hard like a hammer.
They never expected the same Kent, whose name is on everyone’s lips, to have done something huge again that everyone couldn’t keep quiet about.
However, the first news was soon overshadowed by the second, which hit even harder.
"I can’t believe an Inner Disciple will be having an official duel with a core disciple—and not just any core disciple, but the Pill Princess of all people.
Does this Kent perhaps have a death wish?"
"What else do you expect? Just because he managed to withstand the poison from Big Brother Xhan, he thinks he can now take on every seeded candidate."
"It’s just too bad this is not a death match. I would love to see his burnt corpse when the Pill Princess is done with him."
Naturally, every disciple was looking forward to Kent’s defeat, considering he had not only declared he was better than everyone, but he also made sure his words were directed at all five seeded candidates.

[Two days later – Flame Master Arena]
The day of the duel between Kent and the Pill Princess had arrived, and at the moment, the Flame Master Arena, a special arena located at Flame Peak, was filled to the brim.
It was an arena designed for disciples who cultivate the flame element. It restricts all other skills and allows only flame-type skills to be used.
This means the battle, as Lady Liora discussed with Kent, would be flame-based.
Both core and inner disciples were currently seated, each anticipating the upcoming battle.
Inside a VIP room, the four seeded candidates and the backbone of the sect’s team for the upcoming interplanetary sect competition were seated and ready to witness the battle between Kent and the Pill Princess.
The Ice Maiden held a smile on her face as she waited patiently for her natural rival to be defeated. That would give her even more things to rub in her face.
As for Xhan, after his run-in with Kent, he had been looking forward to meeting him again. However, as it stands, he just wanted to see if there is more to Kent before challenging him to a deathmatch
Then there was the One-Eyed Demon Spawn, who wished this battle were between him and Kent.
Just as every last disciple became angry upon hearing Kent’s bold words after he came out of the Perfect Chamber, he too became furious and wanted to teach Kent a lesson.
However, the one most furious was the arrogant Crystal Dragon Prince, who prided himself on being better than everyone.
Right now, the only thing preventing him from running onto the stage and facing Kent instead was Lady Enzi, who hovered over the stage, ready to officiate the duel.
The first to appear on stage was the Pill Princess, clad in sleek, red leather armor, designed with style and purpose.
It highlighted her beauty.
Though her arrogance was rather something dislikable about her, she had fans, and they all started cheering as she walked gracefully into the arena and onto the stage.
She stood on her side of the stage, holding her sword firmly, ready to handle the brat who dared accept a duel against her.
However, when Kent appeared, everyone went quiet.
Unlike the Pill Princess, who was clad in her battle armor, Kent was merely in his sect cloak, chewing on an apple as he lazily walked into the arena.
He held no weapon, wore no armor, and looked nothing like someone who was about to duel a core disciple.
If anything, Kent looked like someone passing by who heard that a duel was happening nearby, so he came to watch.
Naturally, the arrogance was clear, and this only made the Pill Princess even more pissed off.
"Looks like you couldn’t wait long enough to lose, so you came early," Kent said, smiling at the Pill Princess.
The princess looked at him for a few seconds and pointed her sword at him. "You should do your best because becoming my servant isn’t something you want."
"Oh, I most certainly wouldn’t want to find out the hard way, I guess. But the same goes for you—calling me Big Daddy Kent for three years will be hell and humiliating, so do well to beat me, for that is the only way out for you."
The comments were cut short, and the main battle was about to begin.
"Remember, you can choose to tap out or die and respawn on the outside. Aside from that, the moment your opponent surrenders, the battle is over.
Do any of you have any objections?"
"No."
Both Kent and the Pill Princess said in unison.
"In that case, you may begin."
The Pill Princess dashed toward Kent, her sword lit with blue flames.
Kent smiled and bit into his apple, taking a bite.
