Chapter 854: Diamond Body
Chapter 854: Diamond Body
The Pill Princess wanted to end the battle quickly, so the Moment Lady Enzi gave the command to start, she moved, her sword lit with blue flames.
The distance between her and Kent was just twenty meters, so crossing it at her speed wasn’t that hard. She moved and arrived before Kent in no time at all.
However, instead of taking out his sword to defend himself, Kent merely took a fresh apple and bit into it.
The Pill Princess didn’t mind his provocation and instead stabbed her sword at his chest, planning to end the battle instantly.
However, when the sword touched Kent’s body, it came to a stop, leaving a rather unexpected sound in the air.
"Clang."
It sounded like metal striking metal.
Kent let a grin appear on his lips, but the next second, the Pill Princess attacked again, this time with a sweeping strike aimed at Kent’s neck.
It was a powerful swing.
However, again, like the stabbing attack, her sword met solid metal, creating only a clang sound.
She attacked five more times, aiming for a few other places on Kent’s body, but every time, it was like she was striking a metal dummy—one that didn’t even show any signs of pain when her attacks landed on him.
"Looks like you are having a performance issue, Princess. Are you perhaps too weak to even cut my skin?" Kent said, then took another chunk off the apple in his hands.
The frown on the Pill Princess’s face deepened as she distanced herself from Kent and unleashed a vertical slash with her sword, causing a large fireball to appear in the air.
"Incinerating fireball."
The fireball shot at Kent as she spoke, aiming to incinerate him. However, Kent merely stood there watching as the fireball landed on his body, creating a powerful explosion.
The flames consumed him, causing many to gasp, with a few hoping Kent would respawn on the outside.
However, that didn’t happen; instead, he remained standing inside the stage with his shirt burnt, revealing a rather striking physique, one that caught everyone off guard.
Kent just smiled, looking at the Pill Princess.
"Your attack wasn’t weak, if that was what you were thinking. It is just that the current you isn’t qualified to injure me. No matter how hard you try, you wouldn’t be able to land even a cut on my body."
Kent walked forward, making sure the Pill Princess was in his sight. "Do you want to know the why?"
In response, the Pill Princess formed a hand seal, conjuring a bird made of flames. It rose into the air and dived headfirst toward Kent.
The space around Kent immediately heated up.
However, aside from merely smiling, nothing else changed.
He allowed the flame to bathe him.
After a few seconds, his body was revealed, perfect and intact.
The attack, intended to harm him, clearly failed to achieve its goal.
Instead, Kent merely walked out of the flame looking like a fire demon.
"Tickles," Kent laughed and stood there, smugly looking at the Pill Princess.
"How?" she asked, her expression shocked as she looked at Kent.
The [Flaming Bird] skill was one of her best, so to think she couldn’t even make a dent on Kent’s body left her in shock.
And she wasn’t the only one in shock.
All over the arena, every last disciple was just seated, staring at Kent like he was some demon.
None understood how the battle they all assumed would be over in minutes had turned into one-sided dominance. The worst part was that the Pill Princess, who was being dominated, was the one doing the attacking.
It all just didn’t make sense.
"Listen carefully, Princess, for I am going to say this one time. The reason I see you as a nobody is that, aside from your status as the Pill Princess, you are basically a nobody.
You may be regarded as a talented cultivator in this sect, but in the grand scheme of things, you are but a mere toad in a rather large river.
I am a mere 21-year-old handsome human who started cultivating three years ago; however, within those three years, I managed to achieve what takes others thousands of years to do.
First, let’s discuss your strongest suit: alchemy. I asked around, and I was told you are really talented and that you are a one-in-a-million talent.
I do not doubt that. However, can you boldly say you were able to rise from a nobody to a mere Pill Grandmaster capable of concocting Tier 8 perfect pills within three years of starting alchemy?
Can you beat your chest and say you attained both Flame Comprehension and Resistance in under three years? That you unlocked Profound Sword Intent and Aura in under three years?
If that isn’t enough, do you know anyone who has awakened both Sword Gaze and Sword Body in under three years of wielding the sword?
Even worse, how about achieving Diamond Body cultivation in under three years?
Now, if that is not enough, you can add the part where I managed to comprehend twelve divine-grade flame arts in under an hour.
Basically, I am better than you in every way. Though I must say, perhaps you can beat me in alchemy because, unlike you, I don’t have a fantastic master to aid me.
But aside from that, can you see the gap between us?
I don’t like to brag, but why not this one time?
I can beat my chest and swear with absolute certainty that, aside from me, nobody has been able to merge their body cultivation with their true physique. And yes, I also possess a true physique.
I am one of a kind, and because of this, even if you were to strike my body thousands of times, you wouldn’t be able to leave a cut on my skin.
Unless you can use Heavenly Sword Aura, defeating a diamond body is not something you can do.
So, my dear Pill Princess, I will give you some good advice today: instead of looking down on people, look for the qualities in them, and perhaps you will be shocked to know they have something worth learning."
Kent looked toward the VIP room housing the four seeded candidates and smiled at them before turning back to the Pill Princess, who looked like she was having a reality check.
"You know, I thought hard about how I was going to wreck and dismantle you. However, after a deep inner search, I couldn’t bring myself to torture you, so you can go ahead and surrender.
And don’t worry, you don’t have to call me Big Daddy Kent."
The entire arena was quiet, nobody saying anything after Kent ended his speech.
Whether it was the disciples, the elders, or a few hidden ones, every one of them was left stunned, unsure of how to process any of this.
It was like the way they all saw cultivation had been turned upside down by Kent, and that alone rendered them shocked beyond their imagination.
The Pill Princess stood rooted in the same spot with her sword still in her hands, unsure of what to do. Accepting defeat wasn’t something she planned on doing today.
But as it stood, that was all she could do.
However, before she could make the decision, the space cracked, and a man with a pair of dragon horns on his forehead stepped out, locking his gaze on Kent.
