Re-Awakening: I Ascend with a Legendary class

Chapter 550: Getting Stronger

Chapter 550: Getting Stronger

The Regalons emerged inside the territory of their second target.

This club was stronger than Spiral Abyss. Their fortress stood like a crooked tower of bone lacquered with molten curses, surrounded by a moat of gray ichor. The moment Regalons appeared, the entire structure reacted.

Ritual beams shot upward.

Black scripture ignited.

A dome of curses expanded and locked the space.

This time, the battle would not end in one breath.

The fortress resisted.

The club resisted.

Their powers were built for war.

Almond’s eyes narrowed, watching the curse dome tighten, compress, and attempt to bind their movement. These bindings were conceptual, not physical. A test perfectly suited for drawing out depth.

"Not enough to keep us out," Almond murmured, though not in pride. In observation.

He drew his blade again.

Not to sever something outright, but to understand.

Grim-Fated Cut pulsed.

His mind sifted through meaning, gathering a new derivative.

Technique: Fate-Drift Rend

A strike that severed the gravitational pull of a curse upon a target, allowing movement in locked space.

He swung once.

The curse dome didn’t shatter, but bent aside, pushed open like a wet cloth. A slit for entry.

The club inside reacted instantly.

Ten figures.

Disease-wreathed mages of humans and demons, bone-armored brutes from a giant race, mist assassins that looked like some otherworldly race, and a black-haired elven singer whose voice made the air bleed.

’Folks, they are not weak, so it will be fun, but don’t be careless.’ Admiral Rudra’s voice reached everyone.

Regalons scattered.

Silvester and Hiroshi moved first.

Silvester grounded his enormous sword, channeling a new understanding he had found in the last battle.

Technique: Veinbreaker Drop

The Steller Vein pulsed. Gravity condensed.

His sword slammed down.

BOOM.

The ground cracked outward in spiderweb patterns, dragging three people into its plunging maw.

But the cursed ground consumed the gravity, and the brutes clawed out again, bodies glowing with resilience.

They burst out and hurled Silvester away with a combo move.

Hiroshi exhaled sharply, sheathing his katana for a moment before drawing it in a single smooth cut.

Technique: Still Flow Second Breath

A slash that ignored forward motion and instead sliced the pause between movements.

His blade cut air.

The pause split.

Two assassins stumbled as their evasive technique stalled for half a second.

Yet even so, one managed to countercurse, sending a wave of poisonous mist that corroded space.

Regalons felt the pressure.

Good.

They needed this.

Arjun stepped forward. Infinite Sunder glowed beneath his feet as he traced a line in the air.

Technique: Eventline Fracture

A sunder that broke the continuity of a projected attack.

The poison mist split open like curtains.

But not fully.

The mist reformed, jittering with unstable intent.

Arjun’s eyes sharpened. "Tougher than expected. I like it."

Natalia’s violin manifested above her shoulder, strings trembling.

She tapped the air once and manifested a new technique derived from Chaos Symphony.

Technique: Entropic Crescendo

Instead of forcing outcomes to collapse into failure, she forced the spell structures to multiply, overloading the enemy’s control.

Five curse spells bloated into fifty.

The defenders gasped as their own magic rebelled.

One brute exploded into bone fragments.

Another screamed as his cursed armor melted over his skin.

Yet still, the curse-singer stabilized their formation. Her voice resonated in hexagonal waves, sealing ruptured spells and holding their power together.

Kexell roared.

His shadowy flames burst out, but rather than the typical lethal hex, something new kindled inside them.

An epiphany.

Technique: Evernight Maw

A hex-flame that devoured the lifespan of a spell before it fully formed.

He breathed it out.

The curse-singer’s next wave shattered prematurely, aging ten years in an instant and collapsing into black ash.

Still, she stood, resisting, glaring with bloodshot eyes.

Bianca’s twilight outline flickered twice.

Not stealth.

Not speed.

Something deeper.

Technique: Aftershade Thrust

A strike executed in the space left behind by her own shadow movement.

She appeared behind a curse mage, stabbed the afterimage, and the real body screamed as if the blade were in his spine.

Even so, he forced his cursed bones to shield vital points, barely surviving.

Admiral Rudra surged forward last.

His fists glowed with a new modulation of Pulse Without Finality.

Technique: Rhythmless Break

A strike devoid of pattern, collapsing an enemy’s attempt to predict it.

His punch broke a brute’s guard, shattered both arms, and sent the man flying into a wall.

Lily snapped her fingers.

Time folded in thin sheets.

But the curse club had temporal dampeners embedded in their fortress.

Her timeline cuts resisted her.

She felt the pushback and smiled faintly.

So she changed.

Technique: Shade-Lag Bloom

A delayed burst of temporal slowing that attached to the opponent’s shadow.

The curse club slowed by a fraction, making their resistance wobble.

The fortress itself retaliated.

Glyphs ignited.

Cursed rain fell from above.

An abyssal mouth opened under their feet.

Regalons braced.

Almond stepped forward.

Fate-Drift Rend hummed inside him, along with something else.

A realization.

He could cut not only the gravity of a curse, but the tether binding multiple curses together.

An advanced derivative.

Technique: Severed Nexus Path

He swung.

The cursed mouth below snapped shut.

Glyphs sputtered out.

The entire curse network of the fortress broke into isolated fragments, no longer supporting one another.

The defenders screamed as their protections flickered.

Regalons surged.

Silvester crushed one brute into a crater.

Hiroshi severed an arm.

Arjun cleaved through three spellguards, severely wounding them before Natalia unleashed a harmonic blast that sent them spiraling into a raw chaos of whirlpool filled with deadly weapons made by Kexell and Bianca’s combo.

Big D crushed one into a small hole after constructing a trap.

Rudra destroyed the core with one devastating blow.

And Lily extracted the last second from the curse-singer’s life and crushed it between her fingers.

The fortress collapsed.

[ Club Cursed Howl eliminated. ]

The Regalons stood amid the fading remnants of battle.

No one spoke for a moment.

Not out of fatigue.

But out of clarity.

Every one of them felt their True Concepts deepening.

Some subtly.

Some sharply.

The air around them trembled with newly awakened meaning.

"Alright, let’s go, let’s go! Next target!" Kexell shouted. "This is fun."

Everyone cracked a grin or smile.

"We’ll have to find the next one. Split and search like before."
