Re-Awakening: I Ascend with a Legendary class

Chapter 552: Breaktime, Feast Island

Chapter 552: Breaktime, Feast Island

The first five hours of round 1 ended fast.

In the end, Regalons managed to get 6th rank.

They were getting strong, but there was a limit to how much they could improve within five hours.

[ The next round will start after a five-hour break. Until then, all Grim Students are welcome to roam the island. You will find cooked food and various drinks in the nature of this island. You can also meditate and get stronger for the next round, filling the weakness and refining your strength. Enjoy. ]

The clubs of Grim Students arrived on the island at separate places and saw the otherworldly island.

The island was unreal.

It is above an endless cosmic sea. Currents of nebulae swirled below like drifting galaxies, their glows dim but warm. The land itself looked alive, breathing gently, humming with a quiet dreamlike pulse. Soft winds carried scents from places they couldn’t see, fragrances that made the stomach stir and the chest lighten.

Trees twisted like living sculptures, their branches bending in impossible loops that shimmered with colors. Exotic fruits grew from them, but they weren’t raw fruits. They were...

Food.

Actual cooked food.

Steaming, seasoned, simmering, sizzling food.

Hanging on branches, stacked on stones, floating gently in air pockets, bubbling inside small crystalline pools. It was like walking into a divine banquet crafted by a mischievous chef god with absolutely no logic.

"Holy... stars," Hiroshi whispered.

His eyes widened as he approached a dangling skewer growing from a glowing vine. He took one bite.

His spine straightened.

His pupils dilated.

"This... is the best grilled beef I have ever eaten."

Silvester snorted. "Move aside." He took two, bit them both, then froze. "Okay. I take that back. This is illegal. This is too good. I’m going to live on this vine."

Lily plucked a puffed dumpling-fruit from a crystalline branch. The dumpling was warm to the touch, its steam curling upward gently. She bit into it and blinked.

"...This tastes like perfectly pan-seared mushroom and butter dumpling with herb oil."

Arjun grabbed a bowl-leaf attached to a trunk. The leaf naturally curled upward, forming a perfect container holding steaming broth. He sipped it.

His entire expression relaxed. "This tastes like someone condensed a warm hug into a soup."

Natalia found a shimmering pastry perched on top of a rock. She split it open.

A wave of buttery, honey-like scent filled the air.

She took a bite and closed her eyes. "This is... heavenly."

Kexell tore a chunk of rib-fruit that glowed faintly with ember-like patterns. He chomped down, and flames flickered inside his mouth.

"This satisfies my soul."

Bianca appeared beside a tree that grew dark purple rolled pastries, each swirling with light smoke. She took one, bit slowly, then nodded. "Perfect texture. Perfect temperature. Perfect everything."

Big D dove headfirst into a bubbling pool of orange broth that was simmering on its own. He emerged with his fur slicked and droplets running down his whiskers, laughing.

"This entire pool is stew. Do you understand? A stew bath. This island is paradise."

Big D drank and swan. "Fucking delicious."

Admiral Rudra casually took a star-shaped cracker hanging from a metallic vine. The moment he bit, it made a crunchy spark sound, like tiny fireworks.

"This has no right to be this good. But it’s made from the literal god of this Grimverse, haha."

Meanwhile, Almond simply walked through the forest quietly, observing, his expression unchanged. He wasn’t uninterested. He was analyzing the island itself. The way it pulsed. The way the atmosphere flowed. The density of calmness in the air. How nature here was structured for recovery.

Eventually, he stopped in front of a large cylindrical fruit steaming softly.

He held it.

He took a bite.

He paused.

And then began eating.

For two hours, the Regalons wandered from grove to grove, sampling every dish the island offered. None of it boosted power. None of it increased cultivation. But every flavor was so utterly, painfully perfect that even the most battle-hardened among them felt their stress melt away.

Julian sat under a tree munching seaweed rolls that tasted freshly toasted. "If the next round is deadly, at least I died with good food in my stomach, though I doubt there’s permanent death here."

Kexell gnawed on a spicy tailfruit that left smoke wafting from his nose. "Happiness is simple. This. Just this."

Natalia reached for another glowing pastry. "I am eating all my emotions right now."

Hiroshi sat cross-legged with a full plate of grilled meat barbecue pierced by blades of grass. "The balance of flavor is... perfect."

Silvester chugged a drink that grew from a crystalline flower stem. "Why is the water carbonated. Why is it flavored? Why is it delicious? Who designed this island?"

Arjun made a small campfire purely out of habit, then realized he didn’t need it. "Everything is already cooked. I feel useless."

Admiral Rudra tasted a smoky stick snack. He blinked. "...Whoever made this deserves a medal."

Lily, eating a translucent jellyfruit, smiled softly. "This place is also surprisingly peaceful. Good for meditation."

Almond took another bite of his cylindrical fruit. "Let’s train after eating and resting a bit."

The atmosphere was light, warm, and floating with laughter and relaxed banter. No tension. No urgency. Just a moment of peace.

Eventually, after two hours of relaxing and eating everything in sight, a soft chime echoed across the island.

A bell made of vibrating air.

"Alright, time’s up." Big D announced as he dispersed the alarm clock.

Lily stretched. "Break time is over for us. Meditation begins."

Arjun cracked his neck. "Three hours. We need to fix our gaps from the last round."

Kexell rolled his shoulders. "I have so many things I want to try."

Bianca slipped into the shadows. "I want to refine my aftershade techniques."

Silvester grinned. "Inbound Carnage needs polishing."

Hiroshi sheathed his katana with a click. "Still Flow is aching for refinement."

Natalia lifted her violin. "Chaos Symphony needs tuning."

Admiral Rudra took a deep breath. "I have to stabilize that last pulse variation."

Big D stretched out his limbs. "Feaster Beyond Null... I think I can push it deeper."

Almond looked out across the glowing island.

"Three hours. Make it count."

The Regalons dispersed across the serene landscape.

Some meditated beneath trees glowing with soft luminescence.

Some sat beside nebula rivers that hummed softly.

Some rested atop floating rocks, letting starlight soak into their skin.

Everyone went to the places they liked and felt most comfortable.

The island fell silent except for the wind and faint cosmic hums.

Three hours to strengthen.

Three hours to sharpen.

Three hours before the Arena of the Fallen Star resumed its war.
