Chapter 1020: Underworld

Rael dusted himself off and then proceeded to brush the blood off his clothes. All the demons were now dead, and from the looks of things, their souls were also gone.

But in reality, Rael went ahead and swapped their souls, making them vegetables.

It was a bit sad, if he was being honest. He had expected some grand purpose for what they did, but it turns out that they had known Lilith when she was a little younger. They were actually friends, and that woman was some kind of admirer.

However, when Lilith was exiled for being a bastard child, that all changed. They began hating her on a very deep level, and not only that, when they heard that she had become a Demon King, they came at her mom out of sheer pettiness.

That alone would’ve made Rael desecrate their souls, and that was why he did what he did. Now, as vegetables trapped in each other’s bodies and unable to move, Rael decided to cause even more chaos.

“Hmm… I’ve never done this before, but if I infuse the Concept of Immortality into you, and then trap you in a realm where time never passes, you’d be kind of screwed, wouldn’t you?” Rael said out loud.

Before any of the vegetables could react to him, he went ahead and tapped each of their foreheads, infusing a large amount of his power into them. He realized that if he wanted to make someone immortal, all he needed to do was just think about it.

And so, when he was done and dusted with all these idiots, he went ahead and created a miniature universe, then tossed the four of them inside. Afterwards, he closed the portal to the miniature universe and glanced over to Lilith.

She had heard all that they had to say, and she also realized just how terrible demons were. Not to mention, she was now technically the one and only ruler of them… How would that make her want to rule them when they hated her so much?

If it was going to be like that, she was better off killing everybody and making it known that she wasn’t someone to be messed with. But then again, what else did they have that the others could mess with?

The Shadow Demons? They were protected by Rael and the rest of the powerhouses on that planet. There was even Anastasia, who she talked with briefly. Yet Anastasia was one of those women who focused on long-term goals rather than short-term goals.

And her current long-term goal was to make up with Kareth. The two of them weren’t exactly fighting, but they were tricked their whole lives because of Lucien, so they felt like some parts of their relationship were simply nonexistent.

But as it so happens, because Anastasia liked it in Celestara so much, Kareth had also started to visit. Odds were, that world would soon get yet another powerful protector. In that regard, she really had no more excuses to not rule over these people anymore.

Her father was off somewhere else, and her mother wasn’t here anymore. She was all alone, with only Rael beside her. He was someone no one could hurt no matter how much they tried, so with that in mind, she decided to accept the reality.

“Rael, would you mind helping me establish some new laws?” she asked out of nowhere.

Rael tilted his head. “What kind of laws?”

“We’re going to give the death penalty to anyone who messes with graves and graveyards. They must be sacred, so I guess I just want you to transmit my voice into the minds of every single being alive. Is that possible?” Lilith asked.

He thought over it for a moment, then let out a sigh.

“It’s very much possible. Do you already know what to say?”

She nodded. Afterwards, he placed a single finger on her forehead, and then with another thought, he found the locations of every single demon alive. Naturally, if there were any demons inside the Dream Realm, he wouldn’t be able to see them.

But those who he did see, he was able to establish contact with, before giving Lilith the go-ahead, telling her she could now speak.

She took a deep breath and said:

“Greetings, everyone. I’m your new Demon King. I will keep this brief. As my first command, I make graveyards, graves, and all sorts of burials of death sacred. If anyone messes with them, they will be tossed into the Seven Hells for all of eternity. Good day to you all.”

With that, she was done with her speech. Rael thought there’d be more, but it seemed like that was plenty, since the demons soon began to panic and run around like a bunch of idiots.

He was a little puzzled by this reaction, but he quickly realized that some demons on the less intelligent side thought that the Demon King had talked directly to them, instead of to everyone. So they were intimidated.

Heh.

What a bunch of goofballs. Rael shook his head and then took his finger off her forehead, then gave her a pat.

“I’m proud of you. And don’t worry, if anyone dares to break that law, I’ll deal with them personally,” Rael said.

Lilith shook her head slightly. “It’s fine. My words are sacred, in a way. Those who hear them have an oath placed in their hearts, and if they break it, they’ll be killed. So in that sense, if I wanted to tell them to kill themselves, they’d all be dead now.”

Woah…

That’s a super powerful ability to have. Rael knew he had it too since he was also a Calamity Demon, a True Calamity Demon at that. But at this point, he was everything. Anyhow, this was definitely not how he expected the date to go, but he also knew that it wouldn’t be finished without doing what she wanted to do first.

“Shall we pay a visit to the underworld?”
